‘He told me not to tell anybody,’ Polaris defended, ‘as, quite frankly, he didn’t have very much control over it.’

Next thing Polaris knew he was being swiped across the back of the head.

‘I’m getting the hang of it now, though.’ Arcturus grinned as Polaris turned to confront him. Talori, who was with Arcturus, took a step back out of their argument.

‘Truce,’ Denera demanded. ‘It’s time for you two to end this annoying vendetta you have against each other.’

‘Hear, hear,’ all the staff agreed.

They both began to protest, as they rather enjoyed it.

‘No buts,’ Denera insisted. ‘Unless the twelve of us can be a
harmonious whole, the RRT won’t work. You are supposed to be as brothers.’

The two men looked at each other puzzled.

‘We
are
just like brothers,’ Arcturus said.

‘This is what brothers act like,’ Polaris agreed, then looked back to Arcturus. ‘They just don’t get us,’ he said and Arcturus nodded.

‘Shhh,’ Killian said, suddenly wary. ‘Did you hear that?’

We all listened.

‘Like a distant pulsing,’ Castor said; being shamans, he and his mate had the keenest ears. Talori nodded.

Killian staggered, hit by a dizzy spell. Zalman and Levi, who were the closest to him, each caught him by an arm.

Denera closed the tent flap and rallied us. ‘There is no time to waste. Form a circle according to the number of your Signet stations around Killian.’

Zalman helped our unsteady colleague onto a seat in the centre of the circle.

‘Sorry I didn’t tell you about the teleportation thing,’ Polaris quickly said to Arcturus. ‘But to my credit, I did save you from Ishtar.’

‘Well, I apologise for not delivering the ring as you instructed,’ Arcturus replied. ‘But I did save it from falling into Nefilim hands.’

They grinned at each other, knowing there was no true ill-will between them.

I took my position between Castor at eleven and Dexter at one, and we each held our partner by the wrist as we formed a circle. ‘So how do we do this?’ I asked.

‘We don’t do anything,’ Denera instructed from her number four position between Vespera and Talori. ‘Just hang onto each other and don’t break the circle. Our lord will do everything else.’

All eyes turned to Killian, who was still hunched in his seat, his body twitching violently. He fell backwards, his head flopping over the back of the chair as if he were unconscious.

The roaring, pulsing sound grew louder and the Earth trembled in the distance.

I was growing worried that our lord wasn’t going to make an appearance, when Killian’s entire body went as stiff as a board and
floated up to a standing position. His eyes remained closed, but his head turned about, giving the impression that he was viewing everything perfectly well—the lord must have been utilising Killian’s third-eye vision. He turned in the direction of the pulsing. ‘The force travels underground,’ he said.

His voice and language were not of this Earth, yet we all understood him.

‘En Ki,’ gasped Solarian, who had met with the lord before.

‘Brace yourselves, my children,’ he instructed.

As we tightened our grip on each other, En Ki pointed to Dexter, who released the low reverberating note that resonated to the frequency of deep red. Then he pointed to Arcturus who sang the slightly higher note that was the harmonic frequency of orange. In quick resonate succession, the lord conducted the whole circle: Vespera—yellow; Denera—green; Talori—blue; Solarian—indigo; Thana—violet; Levi—gold; Polaris—silver; Zalman—deep sparkling blue; Castor—sparkling silver-black. At last the lord pointed to me and, through no will of my own, I sang the note of crescendo that was the highest sonic frequency of white.

The amazing harmonic drowned out the ominous pulsing. My eyes closed and fluttered as I plunged deep into the liberating serenity of our rainbow synergy. I could feel the vibratory frequency of my body rising, to the point where I buzzed all over with such intensity that I thought I might black out.

Above his cosmic choir, the lord spoke in his native tongue of Anuhazi:

E-Ta’-TA
Um Sha-DI’ UR’A’
UN UR’-A-Or’-Nam’ OOR
De-a-mir
Mah-Hah-Rah-Tah Bi-Vec’TI
Ah-Ta’Un’ta E’sa
Tra’zd-Jna

Which, roughly translated, meant:

Come forth in being,
All-Embracing Pillar of First Cause Light,
anchor the Divine Sea of Liquid Light in this moment.
Reflect outward through this circle
the Divine Christos blueprint past-present-future.
Let it now be established, always and forever,
in eternal abiding reverent love.

The words caused a rush of consciousness and I was no longer aware of the shaking of the ground beneath me, nor even of my own voice or presence, for my awareness was racing inwards into the tiniest particles of my being. I left my incarnate self in the world of gross physical matter and entered into another harmonic universe, astral in nature. Here in this galaxy, with its solar system containing several binary suns, was an orbiting planet of astounding beauty, where I joined with the entity that was my soul being.

For an instant I was fully aware of being Meridan. This was Tara, my home and life, as physical and more real to me than any other life I had led. I was creating blooms in my garden in celebration of the coming spring, and my work filled me with satisfaction, inspiration and delight. The violet rays of the sun were beginning to ease the winter chill on the breeze, and I was enjoying the challenge of cleaning up outdoors in the wake of the cold season. My concentration was broken by the recurrence of the essence of an experience I’d once had and I experienced a very strong sense of déjà vu. I detected a low and disturbing frequency, one I had not felt since my days on the Amenti Project. Then I remembered:
the Rainbow Round Table.
I looked down upon myself and recalled my experience of this moment, and I was thrilled to be able to advise myself, just as I did then:
Do not be alarmed by what you find upon your return. Your efforts this day have more of an effect than you realise. The answer lies with Kali, she has not betrayed you.

Again I was drawn inwards to a subatomic level and through the zero-point barrier into an even higher causal universe. I left my soul self and entered into another harmonic universe where galaxies were being created under the guidance of my over-soul self, who was working in a region known as Gaia.

For a moment I was aware of being Elohim, in this realm of pure consciousness, thought and creation. I had been expecting me, for I had set into motion the causes that had brought me here.
The pendulum of time swings both ways. You may occupy each instance of time once…any time missed is open as a destination to you.

My journey sped up as I was drawn inside the smallest particle of the causal world and into liquid-light fields of pre-matter—a vast, breathtaking dance of colour and brilliance. My consciousness expanded to such a state that I felt myself part of this entire realm known as Aramatena. Here I was one with my avatar self, and I saw all of creation laid before me, from its highest potential to its lowest and densest state.

I felt a trembling within me and my exaltation grew as I rushed towards the vibration in the very depths of my being. Here, resonating in all its purity, was the alpha and omega of all life, the divine heart of my Sovereign Integral being, pumping out the wave frequencies into primal sound fields of my creation. The wave frequency was the carrier of cosmic light, and light was the carrier of the blueprints of my creation, which every molecule in the five harmonic universes knew how to read and interpret. But in some of the lowest parts of my creation, my divine plan had gone awry—it had been lost in translation and fallen into shadow, so I was compelled to send forth a note of revision.

I was expelled from my Sovereign Integral, where a wave of inspiration caught me up and I plunged back into the sea of liquid light to ride the slipstream of my divine intent down through my existence on Gaia and Tara.

Back in the realm of gross matter, the divine spark of inspiration that I had carried forth with me from the primal sound fields entered my body through the light particles being emitted from the light centre of my heart. The sonic ascended to my throat centre, where it burst into the world via my larynx, in the form of one long, continuous, perfect note.

Although my eyes remained closed, through my third eye I saw my spiritual father drawing into himself the colours of the spectrum from
our circle, which he then redirected down into the Earth below him and the sky directly above him.

There was a great clash of force some distance above and below us, which dissipated before it reached our vicinity.

The Earth ceased its shaking and the Rainbow Choir fell silent.

A blissful moment followed as the peace of the divine energy settled over our gathering, filling us all with a sense of deep love, purpose and well-being.

‘It is done,’ En Ki announced, still glistening with the Kundaray energy.

A sound like a crack of thunder shattered the silence.

‘An aftershock,’ En Ki warned, then vanished in a huge blast of blue-white light.

Blinded by the force, I was engulfed by a wave of liquid blackness so violent that I was torn from the strong grip of my teammates and sucked into underwater darkness.

CHAPTER 32
DEFEATING FATE

—KALI

When I became conscious again, the metal bonds that had restrained me were broken, but I was still trapped within the holding cell in the Amenti complex. For an age I called to be freed—I pleaded, begged, demanded, then screamed for someone to hear me, but no response was forthcoming.

I was beginning to doubt that I would ever see another person again. I felt in my being that there was something seriously amiss. My fellow Amenti staff members, although not overly disposed towards my kind, would not leave me in limbo like this for so long when there was still so much work for me to do.

Now that I had recovered my rational, conscious mind, I had serious doubts about Killian Labontè. Yes, the visions I’d had of him during my psychosis had stirred deep sensual desires in me. But why did Ill want me to find Killian so attractive and not my prince? One thing that had been made painfully obvious to me was that Killian and Ill were in some way connected.

‘I think something bad has happened.’ Emmett’s voice came through the intercom.

At last: another presence. I stood. ‘Define bad.’

‘The entire staff of Amenti are missing and I don’t know what to do.’

‘The first thing you should do is let me out of here,’ I said pleadingly.

‘But I was told not to, under any circumstances.’

I threw my hands up in frustration, then drew a deep breath to calm down. ‘How long have they been missing?’

‘About twenty-four Earth hours.’

‘Shit!’ I paced as I asked the next vital question. ‘Did Killian have anything to do with their disappearance?’

There was silence.

‘You don’t know or you won’t say?’

‘He was with them at the time—’

‘I knew it!’ Why didn’t anyone ever listen to me?

‘But I don’t know if he had anything to do with their—’

‘Oh, he did,’ I assured him. ‘Whose side are you on anyway? You’ve always despised Killian.’

‘I misunderstood him.’

I had to laugh. ‘I think you might have been one of the few people on Earth whose initial instinct about him was correct! Has Arcturus changed his tune about him too?’

‘Um…no.’

I nodded, not surprised. ‘Smart man, my father.’

I looked up into the lens of the surveillance mechanism. ‘If you won’t trust my instincts, then won’t you trust his? I have to speak with Killian yesterday! You’re a smart lad, Emmett, but you’re way out of your depth. You need help.
Please
, let me out.’

There was another long silence and I feared he had left.

‘Emmett?’

The doors to the cell opened to expose the exit into the corridor I had been dreaming about. I hurried through the security doors to find Emmett awaiting me.

‘Please don’t kill me,’ he said, cowering.

I grabbed hold of his arm on my way past. ‘I’m not going to kill you…at least, not until you’ve filled me in on all I’ve missed.’

He didn’t look any less frightened by my claim. ‘I learned all I know from the Hall of Records.’

I stopped dead in my tracks and turned to face him. ‘How do you know about the Hall of Records?’

He shrugged defensively. ‘I heard your teammates talk of it, and when no one returned, I went in search of it. I thought it might be able to fill me in on what happened.’

‘Well, it was a brilliant thought, but people have been lost forever trying to get through this labyrinth,’ I lectured him. ‘Not to mention the fact that you need a certain quality of DNA to operate the sacred tool. You should be dead!’

‘Really?’ He grimaced. ‘You know me. I’m a curious guy when it comes to alien technology.’

I had greater concerns right now and I resumed dragging him through the Thoth complex. ‘Be more careful in future—you have no idea what you are dealing with.’

On the way to the Hall of Records we passed the chamber known as the Hall of Consciousness. As its title suggested, it housed the arcane equipment used for monitoring Earth’s consciousness via the Earth grid. Inside a large crystal ball on a round pedestal in the centre of the chamber stood the scales of consciousness. On one side of the scale was a sphere of darkness and on the other was a sphere of light, and for the first time ever the scales were tipped to the side of the righteous.

‘Damn it!’ I said.

‘What’s the matter?’ Emmett asked. ‘Doesn’t this mean the world is now ready to host the Sphere of Amenti?’

‘That’s exactly what it means,’ I said. ‘But without the Black Madonna to form the Staff of Power from the ring and the rod, I can’t bring down the sphere.’
