"Good girl," he said, lifting his chin at me. "Now you. Take it off, Gidge. All of it."

Slowly, my eyes locked on his, I pulled my shirt over my head, undid my bra and dropped it, then kicked off my shoes and rolled my pants down my legs. I stepped out of my underwear, then stood there for his inspection.

"So fucking beautiful," he breathed. He raised a hand and touched my side, running his fingers along my only tattoo, the Greek letters, I'd had done a few months ago.

"Do doctors have tattoos, too?"

"Yeah."

"What's it mean?"

"Talon."

He shook his head once, to the right, then took a step forward and connected with me, kissing me, exploring me, his hands touching every inch. He picked me up, cradled me in his arms, and took me to his bedroom, closing and locking the door behind us.

"I'm not letting you out of here till you come five times," he told me, gently laying me on the bed.

"Better get to work," I said, opening my legs.

He laughed, and climbed on the bed with me, kissing my breasts, my stomach, working his way down.

He teased me until I tried to catch his head and keep it in one spot, tried to jam myself against his face, then he settled in and gave me my first orgasm. I screamed his name as I came, then tasted myself on his lips when he crawled next to me and kissed me.

"Gidget, why did we wait so long?" he asked. "We could have been doing this for years."

"Because you are stupid and pig-headed," I said. "And by the way, I only count one orgasm so far."

Talon snickered, then grabbed my hair and knelt over me, pushing his cock into my mouth. I opened up to him, watching him, relishing every look of pleasure that crossed his face.

"Smart mouth like that, you're gonna get yourself in trouble."

I couldn't talk, but I ran over a few insults in my mind, trying to decide which one would force him to spank me. Bedroom punishments sounded delicious to me, I couldn't wait to see how they felt.

Talon bent over me and opened a drawer in a nightstand by the bed. He pulled out of my mouth and threw a leg over me, ripping open a condom package and sliding the condom on.

He knelt between my knees and pushed my legs apart, making me forget what I was going to say. His cock was there, right where I wanted it. He stared in my eyes as he pushed inside me. "I love you, Crystal Santee," he told me, as our bodies entwined and he worked me towards my second orgasm.

"I love you too, Talon Covina," I said, my voice soft and wondering. Could it get any better than this? Any better than finally having the one my heart had desired for the last seven years?

Everything else would work itself out, it had to. I had Talon, and he loved me back. With him, I could get through anything.

Chapter 29

Crystal

Three weeks later

I drove my new car, packed full of all my stuff, back to Stanford. I had put it off for so long that I had to do it when Talon was busy, but I didn't mind going alone. It let me think. The last few weeks had been crazy, with Rams getting out of the hospital, and Jaze getting out of the hospital, and all of the meetings with daddy's lawyer, and sleeping with Talon every night, that I hadn't had time to process a lot of what had happened.

Talon had bought me the car, insisting on it, even when I'd refused to take it. He'd said his half-brother had given him a ton of money and he'd already spent all of it on his brothers that he needed to. He said I needed a car to get around, which I did, but I just wished it wasn't so nice. I hated the thought of Talon making payments on it for me.

Oh, and I'd met Talon's half-brothers I hadn't even known existed, all four of them, and he'd driven me past his father's house. He hadn't talked to his father yet, saying he wasn't ready. I thought he probably didn't want to. The guy had never been there for him, why would he change now? Talon's half-brothers had been mixed on whether he should meet Felix Rosesson or not. Knox said no point in it, Daxton said he should, Bronx seemed to think his dad was a jerk, and Phoenix didn't care one way or the other.

Jaze seemed ok, not bitter or anything. He wasn't back completely to normal though, and I didn't know exactly why. I planned to try to stay extra close to him, calling him and writing him a lot, plus going home every weekend now that I had so much to go home for. When Talon had told him we were together, Jaze had smiled and clapped him on the back.
About time
, he'd said. Everybody had known but the two of us.

Daddy was in jail. The state wasn't pressing charges on him for shooting the guy who had kidnapped me, but he'd admitted what he'd done so many years ago, covering up the murder of the two men and hiding their bodies, and he was being charged for that one, especially since there were bullets from three different guns in one of the dead men. Talon had tried to bail him out and he said he didn't want to be bailed out. He wanted to get away from the club for a while, let it sink or swim without his influence. He said new leadership was the only way for it to get past the devastating blow that he and Whitey had dealt to it. He said he didn't mind jail, and he had a lot of thinking to do, reflecting on his life. I was becoming more ok with it every day. He wrote me letters, something he'd never done before.

That's where Talon was, at the voting meeting for the club. He'd said he would drive up this evening and make sure everything was good with me and tell me who the new officers were. He said he had a surprise for me too. I couldn't wait. I loved surprises, and Talon's were always good ones.

I just hoped my roommate was a little more tolerable this year.

I pulled into the dorm office and went inside to pick up my keys.

The girl at the desk looked at me funny when I told her my name. She reached under the counter and pulled out an envelope and handed it to me.

"What's this?"

"Not sure. When your brother cancelled your dorm room for the semester, he left us that envelope to give to you."

"Cancelled? What? Where am I going to stay?"

She shrugged and turned away.

Why in the world would Jaze cancel my dorm? How could they even let him do that?

I slid open the envelope and pulled out the papers inside. A silver key attached to a red, plastic, mini-surfboard fell out. I stared it, then opened the letter and read.

Crystal,

I hate the thought of you living in that dorm all semester. Where am I going to fuck you till you scream when I come to visit? So I bought you a condo. Here is the address and the key.

Love you, Talon.

My fingers shook as I looked at the second piece of paper. A title to a condominium in Village Park Place, a building I knew was just off campus, less than a half mile away. The title named me as owner.

Oh my God, oh my God. Talon bought me a condo. How?

I turned and ran out of there. I didn't know how he pulled this off, but I was excited to see where I would be living all semester.

The drive to the building took only a minute. I parked in the stall marked 5B and went inside the building to the elevator. Everything was clean, bright, fresh, with plants and paintings lining the lobby and hallways. A girl could get used to this.

I pressed the button for the 5th floor, practically jumping up and down. I wished he was here, wished I could give him a huge kiss and ask him exactly how he had managed to pull this off.

The elevator doors opened and I looked at the sign, then turned left. My unit was the very last one. I pushed open the door with the key and took it all in.

It was a corner unit, with windows lining both walls of the spacious, open living room. I rushed inside, squealing over the comfortable-looking furniture, the flat-screen TV, the live flowers in the vases.

A large oak table in the dining nook caught my eye. Another piece of paper sat on it.

I rushed over and picked it up.

Dearest Crystal,

I got you a two bedroom, in case you ever decide you are lonely and want a roommate, but if you get one, make sure she doesn't mind how loud you are, and your smart mouth. I have my own key, but I'll give it back to you if you ever want it. This is your place and you're the boss here, outside of the bedroom anyway. I'll be up every weekend that you don't come home. Maybe more.

Open the box.

Love, Talon

Box, I looked around for a box but didn't see one. I dropped to my knees and there it was, directly under the center of the table.

Tears pricked at my eyes and I willed them away. I hated to cry.

I crawled forward and grabbed the box, then crawled back out and stood up. The box was small, black, like a ring box. I held my breath, hardly able to imagine what could possibly be inside. Not a ring, I knew that. No way.

With shaking hands, I pried it open, and stared, unable to believe my eyes. There was something written on the satin inside the box but I didn't even look at it. I was too transfixed by what was in the box.

It
was
a ring. It had the biggest pink diamond I had ever seen on the top, but I barely registered it. I pulled the ring out and ran the thick band through my fingers.

The raised silhouette of our country's crest was barely visible on the outside, through the polished finish. On the inside, I could see a sword and triangle. I ran my fingers over it, hardly able to breathe.
He'd had my coin made into a ring.
I'd thought it was gone forever.

A sob burst out of me and I covered my mouth with my hand, holding the ring and box tight with the fingers of my other hand.

When I recovered enough to think, I turned the box so I could see the words written on the satin.

Will you marry me?

I sobbed again, louder this time and broke down, dropping the box and curling the ring into my chest.

"Yes," I whispered.

"That would make me the happiest man alive," Talon said from behind me. I whirled and cried out, then ran at him. He was on one knee on my pretty new carpet, in a suit and tie, something I never, ever expected to see him in. He made it look good, like he was born for it.

I bowled into him, almost knocking him over.

He took me in his arms and kissed me.

I sucked my tears up and held him away from me. "What in the hell are you wearing?"

He laughed. "Just trying to keep you on your toes, Gidge." He took the ring from my hand and slid it on my finger. It fit perfectly.

"Where did you find my coin?"

"On the ground, just before I found you in the car. I put it in my pocket and forgot I had it. When I remembered, well, I was already planning on asking you. I thought this way, you'd always have your coin on you."

I laughed and hugged him. No more coin check.

"Was this your surprise?"

"No," he smiled at me, a big goofy grin. "I got a job."

"A job! Doing what?"

"Investigator for Rosesson Security. Working for Knox. He wants me to not change a thing, even wear my cut to work if I want. He says it's the perfect disguise for when they need that kind of thing. Our brother Bronx just finished the fire academy, so I'll be taking his spot."

I peered into his face, noting the 'our brother' comment. He was feeling more comfortable with those men and his status as their half-brother.
Good
. "This is something you want to do?"

"Yeah, I do." He smiled. "I started a few days ago. I didn't want to tell you until you were done with all that stuff with your dad. So far it's been great."

Investigator. It sounded like such an important job. And something I knew he'd be great at. He'd proven that several times.

I hugged him again, unable to believe how everything was coming together for us. "Did you guys vote on a new president for the club? Is it who we thought?"

"Big Jon, yep. Perfect guy. I think even Whip was hoping it would be him."

"And vice president?"

He just grinned at me.

It took me a moment to catch on. I jumped to my feet.

"No way."

He stood up too and shrugged. "They said they wanted somebody young. Someone who'd been in the military. Someone who would be sure to take the club in the right direction. I'm still not sure why they think that's me, but it was unanimous."

I smacked him in the chest, my new ring feeling strange on my finger. "I can't believe it!"

He pulled me close. "Watch it lady, you don't know who you're hitting. I'm a pretty important guy, you know."

I fingered his suit. "I can tell. You look like you have money, and power, the perfect combination. Can I be your mistress?" I asked, in a heady, fake-sexy whisper.

Talon laughed and picked me up. God, I loved it when he did that. He carried me back to a large bedroom and placed me on the bed. "Sure, but you don't ever want to mess up and get caught by my fiance, she's a crazy bitch. She'll knock you the fuck out."

He dropped on top of me and kissed me like it was the first time.
