He couldn't help wondering about what Adrian was doing back in Arizona; it had been four months since the last time that Adrian came through here. He never stayed in one place, and it was rare that he would return to the same place in such a short time.

When he felt Genevieve's intense gaze on him, he was slightly alarmed by her head no longer resting where it had been, and gazing, unseeingly, down at her, he said, “Do you want to spend the night..., tonight...?” he knew that it was too presumptuous of him to be asking her this; seeing how they didn't know each other that well. Yet, the way he saw it, he no longer lived back in the centuries, where men courted women and then asked their fathers for permission to marry; this was a new century, where women and men had developed a new set of rules – rules that were more lax than being obligated to follow family and society normals.

Yet, when she didn't reply right away, and he could still feel the intensely of her gaze on him, he thought to withdraw his offer. Before he could, though, she, sultrily laughing, said, “I'd love to.”

As they sat on the library floor sipping champagne, Genevieve found herself even more drawn to the man in front of her. She had never been into men with long hair, and like Amelia, she had always been attracted to the kind of men, who had short cropped hair, were clean shaven, made the effort to keep themselves in at least somewhat decent physical shape, weren't too critical, and had a good personality.

With the exception of his shoulder length hair, Cirpian had all those characteristics and more.

He was definitely an intriguing man. One that made her want things that she hadn't ever wanted with any other man.

Things, like...commitment...marriage.

It was the sudden feel of his mouth upon hers, that had Genevieve surprisingly yanked out of her thoughts. Yet, before she could react to being surprise, she gave into that passion that Cirpian invoked with just his tongue parting her lips.

As his tongue stroked and caressed the inside of her mouth, she felt like this moth about to submerge itself in an inferno of flames. She was more aroused than she had been that previous night, when Cirpian had been passionately kissing her on her apartment's stoop.

When he laid her down on the floor and started trying to get her shirt off, Genevieve was surprised how a smoldering kiss could have went from that to a comedy act. The discarding of clothes didn't happen as quickly as say, a movie, romantic fiction, or a porno.

First, she got her arm stuck in the neck hole of her shirt. And then, when he tried to take off her bra, he was all fingers; he had to turn her around just to have easy assess to the clasp at the back.

She had thought that once they had gotten her bra off, that it would be smooth sailing. Yet, that wasn't the case.

No sooner had they gotten her clothes off, were they then trying to get his off; and that was looking to be a losing battle – his jeans' zipper got stuck when she was trying to get it down.

To make matters worse, once she had one conundrum down, she was met with another one; his blasted shirt, if possible, was the hardest thing to get off—she was very temped to just rip it off.

Again the discarding of clothes shouldn't have been this hard nor so humorous; if they had had an audience, the audience, by now, would have been laughing their asses off.

It looked so easy on television. Even on that porno that she had accidentally saw one night; it hadn't taken that couple, but a few seconds to get their clothes off.

Then again, sex always looked so fake on television. Even in that porno, Genevieve could tell that the woman was faking it. The man was butt ugly and his balls were a hairy mess. If that wasn't the worse of it, the man had absolutely no finesse—he was an inexperience disaster waiting to happen.

As she stared up into Cirpian's mysterious grayish blue eyes, Genevieve suddenly found herself exhausted; they hadn't even done anything, and she was tired.

After stifling a yawn, Genevieve wondered if it would sound too old biddy of her to propose they forgo having sex and instead go to bed. Yet, before she could even utter the words, Cirpian kissed her, and like the kiss before the hilarious clothes discarding, Genevieve felt her insides combust and that forgotten desire came roaring back to life.

When he eventually started thrusting into her, her body responded to the wonderful way he stretched her and stroked those places that other guys were just too lacking in experience to even try to reach.

If Genevieve was to rank this sex, between a one or a ten, she would have ranked it as not just a ten, but skyrocketing off the charts – it was by far the wildest sex, that she had ever had.

He made her moan with enjoyment and sent her pleasure levels through the roof; this was far more enjoyable than a battery operated boyfriend sending her over the edge.

When she had climaxed to the point of seeing stars in her vision, and he had finally rolled off of her, he said, “That was amazing...”

It really was, but, because of that small she-devil in her, Genevieve couldn't help popping his balloon. “Hmm...”

When the satisfying smile on his face was replaced with surprised, she, wickedly smiling, said, “It was okay...”

Cirpian would have felt offended, if not for the fact that he could hear the playfulness in her voice, and tracing her face, he felt the laugh lines around her mouth.

Ah...,” he suggestively smiled at her. “give me another trial run...I'll make it up to you.” pushing her down on to the floor, he started finessing her breast.

As he worked himself lower, her heard her exclaim, “Oh...that feels...!” she laughed, when he got to her clitoris.

As he stood, clocked in shadow, watching the couple inside the house; he didn't just notice the intensity of the sex, but he could feel it right down to his groin.

The way she moaned and begged her companion for more, had him envious.

How was it, that after all these centuries, the man inside, who had no way of appreciating the beauty of a woman, could still get an attractive woman like this curly brown beauty?

It wasn't fair, he had taken away his foe's sight and now he was fucking a woman that should be fucked by a man that could truly appreciate her beauty.

A man such as himself.

When they both climaxed for that final time, Cirpian held Genevieve in his arms. And as she smilingly snuggled up against him, she said, “This last trial run wasn't too bad, either...Of course, the first time...was really amazing too.”

Skimming his fingers over her naked flesh, he said, “So..., you were just playing with me?”

As she stared up into his handsome stoic face, she, hesitating slightly, said, “No..., I was just wanting more.”

It was his spirited laugh, that had Genevieve's heart, not just instantly skipping a beat, but her surprised. Since the first time she met him, she had noticed that his smile, hadn't touched his eyes – yet now there was this faint glow in them.

If his laugh wasn't surprising enough, then it was the suddenness of his mouth on hers. From the very first time he kissed her, she had found herself unable to think straight and, as she immersed herself in the smooth sensual feel of his mouth against her lips, she gave into her desire.

She was so wrapped up in the way he was making her stomach and heart flutter, that she didn't even notice that he had picked her up; kissing her the whole time.

The moment she landed on the fourposter bed, there was no time for surprise, before he was taking her again. This time it was more gentle and, unlike the sex downstairs, it felt like they were making love.

Would this feel so good, if he were the crazy sadistic jerk who had messed with her brakes and sent flowers afterwords?

She really didn't want to think about that...

Yet, as she stared up into those celestial eyes of his, Genevieve knew what the answer was. If she was crazy enough about the guy, she wouldn't even think twice about being with him. And sex would feel good no matter what.

That's what scared her, the idea that she would want to be with someone this bad.

She was a selfish person, who only had enough room in her heart for her sisters, her parents, and her close friends.

Now though she was willing to sacrifice her independence and freedom to express herself, for someone like Cirpian.

When he thrust into her, in just that right spot, all reasonable thoughts went out the window. It was that unique way of him rubbing his cock against her g-spot, which invoked so much pleasure that she was close to climaxing; in fact she was so close, that even her brain was having a problem comprehending what was happening.

When they both shouted out their release, she almost passed out from the sinful pleasure that went through her.  Laying in his arms, satisfied beyond anything she could have ever hoped for, she yawningly stared up at him. It was then that she noticed the worried frown on his face.

“Is something wrong...?”

No sooner had that look been there was it quickly replaced with the stoic, secretive, expression that she had come to suspect was always that first expression that strangers were met with.

He wasn't an open book, which was refreshing and, at the same time, surprising to her, because she was so use to men who told her their thoughts – even if she didn't want to know what they were thinking. Yet, right then, she wanted to know what thoughts were coursing through her mysterious lover's head.

Why he looked so serious?

As she continued to curiously stare up at him, it was then that she started to drift off to sleep. No matter how hard she tried to elude sleep, she couldn't keep her eyes open. And no sooner had she closed them, was she pleasantly sleeping.

Chapter Eighteen

The moment Cirpian stepped out on to the porch, he could feel not just the cool night air on his face, but he felt the unwanted presence of the man that he had come to despise more than the existence that had been shoved down his throat.

Adrian.

Again, what was the idiot bastard doing here?

In the centuries that Cirpian had had to grow accustomed to not just losing his humanity, but his sight, he had also grown more acquainted with his cousin. As a young mortal man, he had still loved and admired his cousin. Yet, he hadn't known him very well. In his immaturity and refusal to except his own family's warnings pertaining to Adrian, he had been surprised and disappointed at his cousin's betrayal.

Hadn't Adrian loved him?

Apparently not.

If there was one upside about being a vampire, Cirpian had found a new maturity; no longer did he care what his cousin did nor did he continue making excuses on his cousin's behalf. If this new existence had taught Cirpian one thing, it was that love and admiration was a waste for those who weren't deserving of it.

With his new maturity, also came this new found knowledge; Cirpian now knew that his cousin was a cowardly lout. Of course, he suspected that Adrian had always been like that; it had just taken him becoming a vampire to realize it. It was strange, while human he had thought his cousin a clever, intelligent, commander. Yet, now, as a vampire, he had a new outlook on his own cousin.

When Adrian had taken Cirpian's sight, his plan had been meant to make Cirpian less of a threat; make him not just vulnerable, but inflict an eternity of darkness upon him. Yet, that wasn't how it turned out—that plan had backfired.

Cirpian had become stronger without his sight – he had developed unnatural abilities that no other vampire had.

As Cirpian made his way through the dense forest, taking his time and letting his remaining senses become more acquainted to his surroundings, he followed his enhanced sense of smell and hearing; all the way to the person who left nothing but destruction in his wake.

Once he had gotten a mile into the forest, where Adrian's strong scent became even more potent, he stopped.

Hello, Adrian.”

As Cirpian stood there, he felt this greenish fog, that had Adrian's unique odor attach to it—the strong pungent stench of fear—wrap itself around him.

It was that small smile that crept to Cirpian's face, which had Adrian taking a slight step back and his fog dissipating. Because of the nervousness and fear that, he, himself was now feeling, Adrian's fog no longer had that fearful tinge to it.

As Cirpian continued to stand there, letting the fog continue to cloak itself around him, yet feeling none of the fear that Adrian's fog was suppose to provoke, he listened to his cousin's rapid heart beat and breathing.

Adrian was nervous...and afraid.

It had taken centuries for Cirpian to build up an immunity to other superior vampires' fog.  In these years he had developed a resistance to not just these vampires, but Adrian's fog.

A vampire's fog, symbolized how strong he was and served as a warning to other vampires. Yet, since losing his sight, Cirpian had found not just away to manipulate his fog – making it visible or invisible when it suited him. It was because of this, that he no longer felt that dreaded caution every time he came in contact with a more superior vampire.  Also, due to this slight manipulation, his enemy usually didn't know he was even around; until, that is, it was too late.
