“Well I hope you’re right, because I have a feeling you’ll be repeating last night with her again tonight and I’d hate to see you look this bad tomorrow.”

What Shooter said struck Wes. He glanced at Maryann again. Would she be interested in a repeat? And the bigger question was, if it happened would it include Shooter? Wes wasn’t exactly good at sharing. He sighed. “I’m gonna go grab something to drink. You want anything?”

“Nah, I’m good.” Shooter glanced over his shoulder. “Don’t be too long or you’ll miss your sister. The barrel racing’s up next.”

“I won’t.” He needed to get away for a bit and clear his head, something he should have done before he competed instead of after. Wes shook his head, so busy beating himself up he didn’t notice Maryann until he’d smacked right into her. “Dang. I’m sorry.”

She smiled, her eyes smoldering. “I’m not. I’ve been hoping to run into you.”

He couldn’t help but smile. “Really? And why is that.”

Maryann crossed one booted foot over the other and dipped her head shyly. “Now that I’ve seen what a piggin’ string is, and what it’s supposed to be used for, I couldn’t help but imagine what else a cowboy could do with one.”

Well, he’d be damned. Watching him tie up a calf had gotten Maryann hot. “I imagine together we could figure out quite a few things to do with it.” Just the thought had him trembling with anticipation.

She swallowed hard as her gaze dropped momentarily to his lips. “How long does this last?”

“A while, but I’m done so we really only have to stay until Ellen rides.”

“Good.” Her eyes were narrow as she looked up at him and he couldn’t resist. Wes lowered his head and crashed his mouth into hers, pressing them both against the back wall of the concession stand.

Wes pulled his mouth away just far enough to say, “I can’t stop thinking about you.”

“Me either.” She grabbed his head and kissed him hard.

He pulled away again. There was something he needed to know. “What about Shooter? Whatever we do later, is it going to include him?”

“Do you want it to?”

Hell no.
“Do you?” Wes did his best to keep his voice neutral. It wasn’t easy.

“He’s your mate…” Her gaze searched his face.

“If that means he’s my friend, yeah, my best one, but that doesn’t mean I have to share my girl with him.”

Maryann’s brow crinkled while she smiled at the same time. “Am I your girl?”

Wes drew in and blew out a deep breath. Things had turned real serious real fast. He decided to take the tension down a notch with some joking. “You could be, if you play your cards right.”

“And how would I go about doing that.” She was back to being flirty and playful. This he could handle.

“The piggin’ string tonight will be a good start.” He grinned and planted one last kiss on her lips. “Come on. Ellen’s about to ride. Don’t want to miss that.”

*****

Wes kneeled in front of Maryann, trying to catch his breath. It wasn’t easy, and not just because her hands tied to his headboard with his piggin’ string was the hottest damn thing he’d ever seen. It wasn’t even that his cock was in her mouth, putting him in total control of her or that she trusted him enough to let him do it. It was simply her. Everything about her. Her voice. The fact she still refused to believe she was beautiful no matter how many times he told and showed her. Not to mention the amazing sex with or without the piggin’ string.

She ran her teeth along his length as he pulled out. He hissed in a breath as the sensation sent a shiver down his spine. Maybe he wasn’t in total control of her after all.

He truly hoped Ellen had fallen asleep with the television on again because otherwise, they’d all have red faces at the breakfast table in the morning. There were a few times tonight there was no way he could have stayed quiet no matter how hard he tried. This was one of those times as Maryann’s teeth made contact again when he pushed back into her mouth. He let out a groan, so near to coming he could feel the tingling in his balls. He didn’t hold back. There were too many things he wanted to do to Maryann while she was at his mercy. He pulled out with barely time to grab for the tissue box next to his bed.

He let his forehead fall against hers while he tried to catch his breath.

“Why did you pull out?”

“Because I forgot to ask you if it was okay if I stayed in until it was too late.”

Her expression softened. “You’re so sweet.”

Wes let out a laugh. “That’s sweet?”

“Yes, it is, and so you know for next time, it’s okay.”

Next time.
That idea had his cock rising again. He was in big trouble with this girl. “Good to know.”

Wes knew he couldn’t ditch Shooter forever the way he’d done tonight by claiming Maryann was tired. They’d eventually have to deal with the situation but not right now as Maryann pulled against the nylon string binding her to the bed.

“Let me loose so I can touch you.”

“Nuh, uh. Not yet. I like you just the way you are for now.” With a grin he slid down her body. She watched him with a look of pure desire.

Wes spread her legs and showed Maryann exactly how quick and talented a tie-down roper’s hands could be. And just so she wouldn’t forget, he threw in a few tricks using his mouth too until she rattled the headboard and had to bite her lip to be quiet as she came.

Afterward, he lay his head on her stomach. He could feel her breathing beneath him and decided he could get very used to this. Wes never fancied himself a big talker at times like these, or ever, but he couldn’t help asking, “What the hell do I do when you go home in a few days?”

“Actually Ellen and I talked about that today.”

“About what? About us?” Wes lifted his head to look at her.

“Well no. Not exactly.” Maryann shook her head. “More about my job. My future. Remember I told you I gave up a lot of things for Robert?”

Wes nodded. “Yeah.”

“Well, a few months ago, there was an opening in the US branch of the company I work for over in London.” Her wide smile told him this was not just a job in any old state.

“Don’t tell me it’s in Texas.” Wes’s heart began to race. It couldn’t be, could it? That would be too much of a coincidence.

Maryann nodded. “It is. How do you think I met Ellen?”

“I thought you met online on a rodeo fan site or something.”

“No, that came later after we started talking and I learned she was involved in the rodeo. I’m an assistant in the human resources department and even though the position was here in Texas, the main office is in London so it was my job to research the area and write up the job announcement. We always offer positions internally before we go outside to fill them. So anyway, I posted a question online about this area and Ellen answered me. We’ve been talking ever since.”

“Is the job still open?”

Maryann’s grin couldn’t have gotten wider. “I called today. They filled it with a temp, not a permanent replacement. After all the years I’ve been with this company, I’m more than qualified for the position. They said if I want it, the position is mine.”

“And you’d be okay with that? Moving here? Taking on a new position?” Wes needed to keep a calm head in spite of his pounding heart.

“It would be an advancement for me actually. And what would I be staying in London for? Certainly not for Robert.”

“Your family?”

“They’re very goal-oriented people. Once they hear I’d be making more money and be in a management position, they’ll be all in favor of it, even with the move abroad.” She shrugged. “Besides, there’s always airplanes. I can go home and visit, and you’ve never been to London.”

He grinned and moved up her body. “No I haven’t. Would you be my tour guide?”

“Gladly.”

Wes inched closer to her mouth. “I am very happy I collected you at the airport, Brit Chick Maryann Morrissy.”

“So am I, cowboy. So am I.”
