“Yes,” she agreed. “Let’s get this done.”

Chapter Eighteen

She directed him to

Langley
Place
, a nasty, run down sort of hotel that he was
unfamiliar with. On one side was a betting shop and on the other a Payday loans
store. The shops opposite were boarded up. As with all the other streets they’d
driven or walked up hardly any of the street lights were working and it looked
as though the rubbish collection crews hadn’t visited in a
while.

“Cheerful,” he said and Penny laughed.

“Only the best round here.”

He parked behind a monstrous
merc
even
more impressive than his and eyed the hotel with a fair few misgivings. It
looked as though it had been built in the eighties and left to slowly decay
ever since. A faded multicolored carpet was visible next to the open doors
where a huge sign said, ‘Auction, Prince Room,
Six.’.

Various people milled about, some looking a bit worse for the wear,
some looking distinctly shady and Sebastian had to fight the urge to grab Penny
to him and call his security or better still simply drive away. But he’d
promised to do this, and he always kept his promises. Besides, in return she’d
tell him whatever he wanted. Why that was so important he didn’t know, but
important it was.

“You have the money?” she asked, interrupting his whirring thoughts.

He nodded. “And we’re here to buy what?”

“Property,” she said.

“A property auction?” he asked, wondering again why the hell she
needed a property and what made it so important that she’d had to steal to get
the money for it. The only thing he could think of was that she wanted
somewhere else for her and her sisters to live. That made sense. Their current
home was atrocious, and maybe her sisters were younger and it was her job to
provide a home for them? He’d ask, he decided, along with all the other
questions that were stacking up one after the other.

“Yep.”

“But why here?” he asked pointing to the building. It was far from
being anywhere close to any sort of auction he’d ever been to. “Who on earth is
going to come here?”

“People that live around here, and don’t be such a
snob.”

Though she had a point he ignored it. “I am far from a snob,” he
said, “And if you keep talking like that, Penny, I will spank you senseless
when we get home.”

She sighed and opened the car door.
“Promise?”

They began to walk up the stairs, her bag slung over her shoulder,
the money tucked away in his jacket pocket—in the form of a check book now
though not a pile of cash that would barely fit.

“This is an auction for local property,” Penny said, pointing to the
sign. “A whole bunch came on the market a few months back but they haven’t
sold. They’re in the heart of my area and those that live there can’t afford
them and those that do won’t want them.”

“Because of their location?”

“Right.
We’re
talking in the heart of a council estate in one of the most deprived areas in
the country. Who’s going to develop here? There’s no money, nothing. The guy
that’s selling them has tried this as a last ditch effort. It would have been
easier if we could have bought it before auction, but we didn’t have the cash.”

“Because you hadn’t stolen it yet?”

“Right.”

“Then why not attempt your heist sooner?” he asked.

She shrugged, pulling him forward into what could be described as a
reception area, could but barely warranted the title. “There were…other
factors.”

“And these are?”

“None of your business.”

Sebastian took her arm and turned her around so that their gazes
met. Hers were flushed, excited, he suspected his were too
.
Madness.

You promised answers. You want
this money open your mouth.”

Her eyes widened.
“In the lobby?
Really, Sebastian?
You can’t wait till we get back to
yours?”

He couldn’t help but smile. His thief had a quick wit about her that
already he found himself enjoying.
“To talk.
You knew
I meant that.”

“I did.”

“So talk.”

She shrugged and began to walk forward into the Prince Room, though the
pauper might have been a better fit. It was hideous, all fake wood and ripped
chairs.

“The money I took from you will pay for the building but it’s a
wreck,” Penny began. “We need money to do it up as well. To get the facility up
to
standard,
and we had to wait until everything lined
up to get that money before the plan kicked into action. I didn’t rob you
before this weekend because I couldn’t. My sister’s weren’t ready yet to do
their part. They had to wait for…things to line up. We could have done it one
at a time but our feeling was that it was better to just go all out and let the
chips fall where they may.”

He could barely get what she was saying there, but no matter they
had time. Instead he picked up on her other words. “You keep saying we, you
mean yourself and your sisters?”

“Yes.”

And it all became clear. Sebastian stepped back and shook his head,
surprised that he hadn’t added everything up sooner. And there he’d been
thinking her sister’s were dependent, young, needing her…hell he’d even begun
to justify her actions in his mind. Make excuses for her. “God….”

“What?”

“They’re criminals, too?” he said, biting the words out.

“Not in the way you mean.”

“Thieves?”

“No!
Of course not.”
She snorted. “They
wouldn’t have the first clue how to break into somewhere. Their skills are, how
should I say, a bit more honey coated.”

“Which means what?”

“That they’re doing their part and now I need to do mine. Come on,
the auction has started.”

They entered the room, and Sebastian was immediately assailed with a
musty smell which reminded him of his great aunt Helena’s living room. Unlike
that place, where everything was on the cheerful side, this was very different.
He looked around and felt a shudder run up his spine. Men who were quite
blatantly skipping on the wrong side of the law stood in clusters and for some
reason several children ran back and forth.

“Why are there children here?” he asked.

“This stopped being
a paying hotel years
ago,” Penny said. “It’s a hostel now for the homeless. The council puts people
in here who are on the waiting list for a welfare home. They still rent the
rooms out though, for weight watcher groups and AA and stuff.”

Welfare?
AA?
This was her world, he thought as a beefy man in a far too tight
leather jacket took to the makeshift stage.
Penny and her
criminal sisters.
He didn’t understand it, didn’t want to. What the hell
had he gotten himself into? How had they come to this so quickly? Had he lost
his fucking mind?

He shot Penny a look and felt a thud in his chest. What it meant he
didn’t know. But even dressed in his baggy clothes, in the worst of
surroundings she was so damn beautiful. He wanted her so much, wanted to fuck
her until he lost his mind.
You already
have.

Madness.
Just
madness but Sebastian knew he couldn’t give her up. Not yet at least. He knew
only that as far as he was concerned this, the area, the criminality, it was a
world she would play no part in ever again.

Chapter Nineteen

Even a full day later Penny couldn’t quite believe she had The Point
at last. Six months ago when she, Rachel, and
Lyra
had seen the building they’d known immediately it was right for their plans.
The three of them had gone inside, even though there had been ‘keep out’ signs
and looked around. A few minutes later, they’d glanced at one another and
known.
This is it
.

From there the plan had formed. They just needed money, and fast,
and of course there really was only one way to get it. A project such as theirs
needed hundreds of thousands and no bank in the world would lend them that kind
of cash. So what were they to do?

Sebastian Demetrious
. Penny sighed and pulled her legs under her.
Her mark.
Back then he’d been one
name carefully picked out a pile of several and she’d never imagined….

No doubt he hadn’t either. He’d looked deeply uncomfortable in the
auction room. He’d glanced around and she could see the distaste on his face.
Not his fault of course. He was a man used to fancy houses and orders given to
be obeyed. Which was why again she had trouble understanding his motivation.

Why was she worth all that money? What was he thinking? What did all
of this mean?

The questions continued to
haunt her and try as she might to just accept the situation at face value she
could not. Of course it didn’t help that Sebastian seemed to take it all in his
stride. He fucked her and then fucked her again all evening and the next day and
seemed perfectly content to keep doing so.

“You’re looking thoughtful.” The object of her thoughts emerged from
the bathroom, came around the edge of the bed and sat down next to her.

Dressed in her own tight black jeans and a faded red tee, Penny felt
almost like herself again, but it only took a moment breathing in his scent and
looking into his brandy eyes for the normality to feel like it was unraveling. Sebastian
was testing her control to the limits, testing everything if truth be told. “I
am thoughtful.”

“Why?”

“When we were at my home yesterday...” She paused. “I was thinking.”

“About.”

“Why?”

“Why what, Penny?”

“Why this is happening,” she said slowly. “I understand that you
want to fuck me. You want me to tell you how I got into your home but for two
hundred grand? And you actually took me to the auction and are having the deeds
sent here. It just feels really odd. ”

“It is odd,” he agreed, running a hand through his damp hair. It was
curling and Penny felt her stomach give a little clench. How could one man be
so attractive? It didn’t seem fair.

“But
simple. I want you, badly. To me it seems this is the way to have you and have
you I will.”

“We come from different worlds,” she said, and she said it without
apology. “You saw that yesterday.”

He shrugged and reached to undo her zipper. “Where we come from, who
we are, it means nothing in the end, not when we’re in bed together, pleasuring
one another.”

The jeans came off with a shimmy along with her little red panties
and Sebastian did not even bother removing his own before pulling her towards
him, pulling out his cock, sheathing it, and burying it in her.

Penny moaned, pleasure chasing through her. He fit so perfectly. It
felt so right.

“This is what I want from you,
Kleftisa
,” he groaned.
“Just this.”

Slowly, languidly he pumped in and out of her. Just the tip in and then
all of it and Penny bucked her hips trying to get him to speed up.

“No,” he growled. “Tonight we’re going to take it slow.”

“I want it fast,” she hissed. “Fuck me hard.”

He laughed and the movement sent shudders racing through and around.
“Any way I want it, you said and tonight I want to take my time with you. To
enjoy you and make you beg.”

She gasped, trapped by her own words, trapped by the promise of his.
Instead of arguing Penny lifted her legs and wrapped them around his back,
giving him the perfect angle to fill her to the hilt.

He did. Slowly but perfectly, his cock plumbing her to the very
depths, making her moan over and over—wanting more. Each thrust was slow,
agonizing and his arms circled to cradle her, holding her to him, making her
feel things she didn’t understand. His skin against hers, his breath tickling
her neck, the closeness….

She bucked again, desperate for the frantic, dirty sex they’d been
enjoying and just when she thought she’d do just as he’d said, beg, he kissed
her. But it was not like all the times before when she’d felt the possession,
the need to consume. Instead there was something that felt almost tender. His
mouth found hers, his tongue danced inside of her and he kissed slowly, gently,
mimicking the motion of his cock.

To Penny it felt like almost too much.
The slow
fucking, the tender kisses.
There was an intimacy to it that she didn’t
know what to do with. Dizziness hit and she could feel a clenching low in her
pelvis, a warning maybe? So she heeded it, tightened her legs around his back
and with the flexibility she was so well known for, she flipped him over. Had
he been more on his guard she wouldn’t have been able to manage it, but he
wasn’t and in one smooth move she practically impaled herself on his cock.
