“Vicky! You look beautiful,” I say pulling her into me as I walk through her hotel room door.

“Is Carter okay? I’m still gutted he couldn’t come,” she pouts.

“He's all right, a little shaken up, but I think Ade is looking into it.”

“How are you two?” she asks, wiggling her eyebrows.

“Please, don’t ever do that eyebrow thing again. You and Alaina creep me out. We’re good,” I say smiling. “Really,
really
good. I really like him, Vick,” I confess to her shyly.

“He
really
likes you too, babe. Relax and help me with my dress,” she says, pulling at her gorgeous gown.

“You look so beautiful, Vicky
.
Holy shit,” I say with complete honesty.

Her dress has thick straps. Pulling tight around her waist and mid area, before it flows freely down to her feet. She looks amazing.

“Thank you, Polly. No more sweet talk or you girls will make me cry.”

Blake is going to demolish her. That much I’m sure of.

Alaina, Phoebe, Abby and I are all in pastel blue strapless dresses. They sit mid-thigh and are a little on the tight side, typical Vicky. I’m a bit nervous about today, now that Ade knows about Dominic and me. It has me a little on edge.

Vicky’s mom walks in, tears in her eyes. “Dad is waiting for you, precious,” she says as she wipes the tears from under her eyes. We all gather up our belongings and make out way down the corridor, into the cart, and down the hallway. We are waiting for the limo to come around outside when Abby looks over to me.

Here we go
.

“You do know that Ade isn’t that serious about you. He has no feelings. How could he feel
for you.”

My eyes widen. She hasn’t said much to me since I met her, only the odd stabs of hostility but nothing just between the two of us, and it makes me a little uncomfortable. I had noticed the glances she gives me as well, but I always brush them and her off.

I shrug. “He seems to have feelings when his dick’s inside me
.
More than once,” I add. I have a feeling that maybe she and Ade have slept together, with all the hostility and how everyone insinuates that,
‘they were always something more,’
made me notice it.

Vicky looks at me and laughs. “All right girls, enough.”

Looking straight ahead and wrapping my arms around myself. This is going to make things a little more complicated. I know how much she means to Ade. Somehow, I just don’t see her making this easy for me. The limo pulls up and I watch as everyone gets in, me after the last person. I slump back into the seat and pour a wine. Vicky looks over to me, seeing my discomfort. She knows that I don’t do well with confrontation. I’m just not like that. She pats my leg and winks to me before shooting a glance at Abby, and I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that glance. Alaina looks at me then looks to Abby. There’s apparent tension in the air.

“Abby, I love you, but you need to lay off,” Alaina says being her blunt self.

I shake my head. “Don’t worry about it, she’s wrong anyway.”

Abby laughs, taking a sip of her drink. “Wrong? I am right. I’ve known Ade since I was ten. I know him better than he knows himself. Trust me when I say, you are just a convenience. He wouldn’t know commitment if it smacked him in the face.”

Wincing at her words I turn my head to my window, watching the passing trees.

“Alaina may feel like that about you Abby, but I don’t. The way Alaina feels about you doesn’t even scratch the surface of how much I care about Kalie. So make no mistake when I say, I’ll fanny kick you out of this car so fast you won’t know what hit you. Oh, and by the way…” she says, pausing to sip some more of her drink, “you’re only a bridesmaid because I felt it was the right thing to do, for Blake. Learn your role,” Vick warns.

Abby throws her hands up in defeat. “Hey, just say’n. I’m not here to fight.”

Could have fooled me
.

We pull up to where the ceremony will be held and it looks beautiful. It’s all in an open garden area with the altar sitting in direct view of the carpark. I glance behind us and see Vicky’s dad following us in his Camaro before getting out and waiting for Vicky. I look to the crowd and see everyone sitting there waiting for us, with the boys at the altar looking freaking edible. When I see Ade, I feel my heart freeze and my pulse picks up. A bright red blush wraps around my face. Alaina stands out of the car first, followed by me, Phoebe, and lastly Abby.

We begin walking down the aisle and look up at Ade to see his eyes fixated on me with a half grin on his face, which makes me blush again before looking to the ground. When I look up again, I find him smiling at Abby. My smile drops and he must notice because now his eyes show anger and his head is cocked. Once we reach the altar, we watch as Vicky and her dad walk down to meet us. She’s the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen. Glancing over at Blake, I see the love and adoration in his eyes for his bride to be, and it gives me hope. These two had a crazy, dysfunctional relationship. But looking at them now they’re in complete awe of each other. Feeling as though I’m interfering in a private moment, I smile and look up to Ade, who still has a grumpy look on his face. The sexiest grumpy face I’ve ever seen.

After a whole round of
I do’s
and a scream of cheers, Vicky Abrahams is now Vicky Rendon. Dominic comes over to me, picks me up, and swings me around. That’s until I feel equally big arms wrap around my waist, pulling me back down.

“Fuck off,” Ade growls, pulling me behind him.

Dominic looks up at him and narrows his eyes. “Ade? Yeah, chill. This is PG for Kalie and me.” He winks at me.

A slight laugh sits in my throat until I look back at Ade who looks murderous.

Abby steps up to him, placing her arm on his chest. “Come on, Ade. Let her catch up with her friend. We need to head to the reception.” I look down to her grip and bring my eyes back up to Ade, who then pulls me into him smashing his lips onto mine and opening my mouth with his tongue as he dominates me right here out in the open.

“I’ll be right, there.” He points to the road and swings his eyes back to Dominic. “You so much as touch her, I won’t be responsible for what happens to your face,” he states and then walks off with Abby latched onto his arm.
Fucking prick
. My stomach feels as though it’s been ripped out and stood on by a hypocrite, because it has. I swallow down my insecurities and look back at Dominic.

“I’m sorry about that.”

He shakes his head. “Don’t worry about it. I was expecting that to happen.”

He pulls me under my arm and we begin walking back down the aisle, toward the road.

“You have a ride? To the reception?”

I shake my head. “No, I was too busy with yours and Ade’s pissing contest. I’ve missed the girls I think.” He points up to Abby and Ade, who are a bit in front of us.

“Who’s the redhead?”

I raise my eyebrows. “Um…she was raised with Ade, Zane, and Blake. She doesn’t like me very much.”

He laughs. “You don’t say. I saw the evils she was eyeing you with.”

We’re standing in the same spot where the limo had pulled up when I hear gunshots ring out. I duck instinctively and Dom shields my body from the shots. There’s no car for us to hide behind, though, so we’re basically sitting ducks.

“Kalie!” Ade yells, running over to me.

Everything happens in slow-motion. I look up and begin to run to him to meet him half way when a white van screeches to a halt in front of me. A man jumps out, wearing a black balaclava. He grabs onto me, throwing me into the van, and causing me to hit my head on the metal floor. The last thing I feel is something heavy hit the front of my face before darkness descends over me.

I pull my gun out and start shooting at the van, only to drop it in defeat when I watch it disappear around the corner.

“Fuck!”
I roar from where I’m standing, falling to my knees.

I feel manic and out of control. I want to murder someone and I need to now.

“Ade? We need to get out of here,” Abby softly says from behind me.

“Fuck off. If I were with her Abby, instead of
you
, this would not be happening.”

“It wasn’t my fault, Ade! If she had not been such a cock tease and stuck with you, then she’d still be here.”

I get up and walk up to her, shoving her in the chest. I’ve never laid my hands on a woman before—outside of the bedroom—but I will fuck her up right now.

“Keep her fucking name out of your dirty little fucking mouth.”

Dominic’s still trying to chase the van up the road before he stops.
“Fuuuccckkk!”
he roars as he drops to his knees and pulls on his hair.

Walking up to him, I grab his collar and punch him square in the jaw. I get on top of him, and let loose, blow after blow. The next thing I feel is someone, no there’s more than one lifting me off him. Looking beside me I see it’s my brothers. It took all of them to lift me off, but Zane pushes me back.

“Stop brother.
Stop.”

I shake my head. “Fuck no! Stop? What the fuck are you talking about? Stop!” I’m about to reign in on Dominic again, only to be pulled back.

I walk up to Zane, eye to eye. “Brother, I love you, but if you don’t get the fuck out of my goddamn way, I will happily go through you to get to him, without hesitation.”
