Slowly they came together, drew apart and then closed all
distance between them until nothing could possibly ever come between them.
Kiera lifted her hips as high as she could without shaking from the effort,
eager to feel Hayden penetrate her as deeply as was possible.
Kissing Hayden’s soft lips, Kiera felt heat explode along

“You’re beautiful,” Hayden insisted quietly, neither one of

“I love you,” she repeated, needing him to hear the words
from her lips so he could not for a second doubt her. Hayden’s gaze softened

Hayden collapsed hard on top of Kiera as they both breathed
heavily, struggling to catch their breaths. A couple of minutes passed

to press Hayden to one side, but he moved back before she could and shifted to

Wrapped warmly around each other, they lay cozily twined

eyes fluttered closed. It had been an intense few days and exhausting in many
respects. A part of her just wanted to nap, to lie there for hours basking in
Hayden’s love and warmth, the scent of him on her skin and his seed trickling

“We can call Melissa and Daniel later,” Hayden purred,
practically reading her mind once again.
“Mmm, that’s not a bad idea,” Kiera agreed. “We can arrange
the meeting tomorrow, maybe even call Kyle and Sally again, see what they have
managed to come up with.”
“Now there’s an idea,” Hayden complimented her. “Get
everyone together, worry about all that later. With Elias and his crew hounding
us I’m thinking it might be wiser if Kyle and Sally, and possibly even Melissa
and Daniel do some of the background work for now.”
“I think so. Can you set the alarm please? Just for in a few
hours’ time,” Kiera replied sleepily. “I’d like to just lie here in your arms,
I feel so safe here.”
“I’ll protect you,” Hayden vowed. Kiera cracked open an eye
and gave him a loving smile.
“I know, and I’ll protect you. We can watch over each other.
Besides, we’re both damn smart, we can sort this out,” she reassured him.
Hayden kissed the tip of her nose and turned around to get the clock from the
bedside table.
After fiddling with it for a moment he lay it back down,
scooted onto the mattress beside her and pulled the covers up over them both.
Their legs twined together, arms wrapped around each other and settled
themselves comfortably around one another.
“We can worry about the rest later,” Hayden finished firmly.
“For now I think we should both just catch our breaths. Tomorrow will be a
whole new day.”
“Absolutely,” Kiera lovingly agreed.
The warmth of Hayden’s body penetrated through to her own,
and Kiera had never felt so safe or content ever before.
“I love you,” Hayden whispered softly as his hand brushed
through her curls. Kiera mumbled but couldn’t summon an actual reply. Seconds
later she was asleep, knowing Hayden would protect her from whatever they would
both face in their future. Together.
