She rests her hands on
my chest, and I can feel my heart pulse beneath her fingertips. She slowly withdraws
her hands and gently lifts her tank top over her head. She’s standing in a
black lace bra that makes my knees weak.

“Olivia, I can’t,” I
whisper as I place my hands on her shoulders. “Not like this.”

“I want you,” she whispers.
“Like this. Here.”

My lips are on hers
before she finishes her words. We’re pressing hard against each other,
consuming every taste. I cup the back of her neck and press my body to hers,
feeling the wetness from the rain and the heat of our bodies. Her hands run
along my arms, grasping at my biceps as she lets out a soft moan and tilts her
head back. I trace my fingers from the back of her neck to her shoulders and
slip my fingers underneath the straps of her bra. The straps slide down with my
tugs until they’re hanging around her arms. I run my finger along the top of
her bra, feeling the roundness of her breasts heaving.

She’s working at my
jeans now, trying to tear open the button, but the heavy denim restricts her
movement. She finally gets the button and then unzips my pants, tugging at my
jeans with my help until they’re around my ankles. I find her lips again, the
heat exchanging between our mouths with each press and flick of our tongues. I
unhook her bra, letting it fall to the platform, and then cup her breasts with
my hands, feeling the slickness of her skin. Bending down, I kiss her neck and
then her collarbone. I move down and kiss the top of her breasts until I’m
running my tongue along her nipples that harden with my touch. Then I’m running
my tongue along her navel to the top of her shorts as she moans. I work on her
shorts, unbuttoning and then pulling them down as she wiggles her hips.

“Oh Kelly,” she
whispers as I pull them down until they hit the platform. I reach down to my
pants and withdraw a condom from my wallet. Olivia slips her fingers inside my
boxer briefs and slides the condom on.

“Against the corner,” I
say as I pick her up and press her lightly against the padded corner of the
ring, resting her back against it.

She takes me in her
hand as I pull her panties to the side. She guides me in as she wraps her legs
around me. I thrust into her and her body rocks against mine, moaning as she
grabs the ropes of the ring. We rock like this until she pulls me in tight, and
we finally melt into each other’s arms.

I hold her in my arms,
both of us still panting as she softly brushes her lips against mine. “Round
one complete,” she whispers.

Epilogue

The roar of my Harley silences when I
turn the key, leaving a deafening silence ringing in my ears. Olivia keeps her
arms wrapped around my body and rests her helmet against my shoulder. With my
feet planted and my fingers wrapped around the handlebars, I gaze at the
building ahead and fight the urge to restart the engine.

“You can do this,”
Olivia says. Her words sound hollow from the helmet, but I know how much she
means them. I want nothing else than to believe them. She unwraps her arms and
takes off her helmet, removing the option to restart the engine and peel out of
the parking lot. I dutifully follow, pulling my helmet off and resting it on my
knee. A sick feeling overwhelms me, coursing through my stomach and tying it up
in knots. I know I can’t leave without doing what I came here to do.

Olivia holds my arm as
we walk through the parking lot, nearing the letters on the sign that burn in
my skull. It shouldn’t be like this. I shouldn’t be here. My steps slow, but
Olivia powers on, steady as she nears the door. We walk through the first set
of glass doors and the first set of metal detectors into the lobby.

I hand Olivia my helmet,
and she takes a seat in the waiting area on a blue upholstered chair. I don’t
tell her it was my mom’s favorite color, but instead try to move the thought
from my head. She gives a little wave and sets the helmets on a table next to
her. I walk to the front desk, each step laborious and heavy.

“Name?” A woman in a
pressed uniform asks through the opening of the glass. She taps her fingernails
against a keyboard as she waits for my answer.

“Kelly Black, m’am. I’m
here to see my father, Steven Black.”
