God, he was still so freaking sexy that he could make my knees weak with just a smile. He got rid of the beard to my protests, but still he maintained his bulky figure, even though his hair had several gray strands. "What are you doing here? I thought you'd be on the beach with the kids."

He scowled at my words, and in a few steps joined me on the bed, lying at my side while his hand gently stroked Dane's cheek. "Hardy is not my kid."

I smirked. "I think it's fair to say he'll stick around."

"He'd better. Otherwise, I'll have to kick his ass, because Kristina will never give him up." True. Our baby girl was hopelessly in love, but somehow it didn't worry me as it had with Jason all those years ago.

I rested my head on his chest as he propped us gently against the headboard. "Are you happy?" I suddenly asked, and his hand stilled.

He raised it to my chin and shifted to look straight into my eyes. "Why wouldn't I be?" Confusion was written all over his face, and I softly ran my fingers across his forehead to straighten the frown lines he had.

"No, I mean… was this the life you envisioned for us?" Despite everything bad we had to go through, I didn't regret anything that happened to us and with us.

He captured my mouth in a soft yet passionate kiss and then rested his forehead on mine. "Sapphire… I never envisioned such a life for myself. I couldn't be happier." And he was right.

Our love story was unconventional. Dark. Disturbing back in his Sociopath days. The words I told my mother all those years ago played in my mind.

How could you love him? He is a monster.

No one could love a monster.

Oh, but I did. I fell in love with a monster who had a heart, even though darkness surrounded him. And while I wouldn't wish for anyone to endure the same circumstances or past we did, I was so grateful for becoming the monster's ultimate obsession.

Dominic’s and Rosa’s story "Pakhan’s Rose" will be the first book in a new series.

Coming 2016.

The Sociopath's Duet is done, and it still feels surreal to me. The idea of Sociopath and his love for one woman came to me almost a year ago, but I didn't think it would be possible for me to publish his story.

Damian will always have a special place in my heart.
