Vinnie made lovely sounds against her throat, moaning as though he was unable to control himself at this slow but steady pace. But he did, even though with every move those noises became more and more plaintive, yet softer at the same time.

That’s when the orgasm came with stunning sharpness; arching her back and making her toes curl up. She gasped, whimpered though a closed jaw as the wave of exquisite pleasure ran though each part of her. She felt her inner muscles tighten, but with no extra space the shudders kept going and going until she was panting and weak and close to tears.

Vinnie had stilled while she was enjoying this spectacular moment in time, and as he rose up on his forearms, gazing down at her with such affection, he was smiling in a lazy, knowing way.

“Was that good?”

Iola groaned quietly, turning her head to the side whi
le catching her breath. “Oh my God … you have no idea.”

“Tell me what you would like next.”

She swallowed and took a few more breaths, then looked up at him again. “More like that, please.”

He laughed, his entire body shaking from the sound, giving her a very interesting tickle directly south of her bellybutton, where he was still fully engaged with her.

“How would you like me to do that?”

“That was so good, but this time …” she licked her lips and dropped the smile so he’d know she was serious. “Faster. And harder.”

Voro unlocked Claudia’s apartment door, trying to ignore the smell of chocolate in the hallway, and let himself and Raphael
into the living room. Raphael had eaten all his fries on the drive over, and he immediately sat down at the small two-person table to polish off the Big Mac. He hadn’t said a word, and Voro could’ve almost felt sorry for him.

Almost.

“There’s beer in the fridge,” he offered, and when Raphael didn’t reply, he looked at the guy, wondering what he was picking up on. But Raphael’s attention was on the door, and he had stopped mid-chew, thoughtful. “What’s up?” It was like having Lassie in the room.

“You know what’s going on over there?”

Voro felt his neck and shoulders tighten. “I don’t care.”

Raphael’s head tilted, like he was picking up a new transmission. “I think you do,” he said, but it was obvious he had a direct line to the apartment across the hall and that was what his main focus was on.

“I don’t. Stop spying on them. That doctor is a nice guy, and she’s … she’s basically one of
you
.”

Raphael smiled at him suddenly. “Man, not only is he a nice guy … he’s hung like a Clydesdale.”

“Shut up.”

“They’re just getting started with the good stuff. Just jump in his head. You don’t have to make him do anything,” Raphael’s voice got very quiet and gentle because he was totally serious. “But that way you might … you know. Know what she’s like.”

Voro shook his head. “Not even
I
would do that. And I mean it, stop spying.”

“Fine, fine.”

“I’m going to sleep.”

“I bet you are.”

“I
am
. Good night.”

“Don’t forget to say your prayers, Voro.”

He kept the nasty reply to himself, making his way down the hall to Claudia’s bedroom. He didn’t technically need to sleep at all, but the angel was grating on him and it was definitely putting him in need of some alone time.

And he
didn’t
need the guy suggesting that he plant himself in the doctor’s mind to see what balling Iola would be like. Because Voro was already there.

He rubbed his temples, feeling like a world-class shit. But he had to know, and the inability to find out himself was going to leave him strung out like a junkie in t
he middle of the desert. Not only are you dying, but you’re addicted to something you want and dying. If dying slowly could get any worse that would be it.

He sat on the edge of the bed, but in his mind he was in the bedroom on the other side of the wall next to him, cringing at his own invasion of privacy. But then he forgot about it all, slipping in voyeuristically to Veneratio Aubericus’s brain and …

He sucked in his breath. Iola was just climaxing, her small body twitching under the weight of her lover, her soft lips open as she made very quiet sounds. She was soft and lovely in the peak of her passion …  the internal reality of what was happening to her was wrapped around the doctor’s world-class cock, stretching her out so tightly the muscle spasms were no more than flutterings.

Voro could have kicked himself. The doctor
was
built like a horse. And the thought he was using that damn thing on Iola was making Voro see red. No one should be allowed to touch her in
any
way unless he was the one doing it. Not that he had any problems with the size of his own equipment, and God knew no one had ever gone away unsatisfied, but he wanted to be the one delivering the goods, so to speak.

Then he gave himself a few moments of mental-self-lashing. What was he thinking? This was so inappropri
ate … but then again, he was a Sin Eater, and lack of morality was an actual job requirement. He barely paid attention as the couple went through their cute back-and-forthing, and then when Vinnie asked how Iola would like him to please her again, Voro’s ears perked up as those gorgeous eyes returned to Vinnie’s face, and Voro imagined himself in the lucky bastard’s place as she made her request.

“Faster. And harder.”

The poor doc almost blew his load right then and there, and Voro had to admit that if his weapon had been loaded he might have fired off a round, too. He had to laugh though; the doctor was totally at a loss and caught by surprise. And more than excited. The sweet, precious, and delicate Iola liked it a bit naughty.

Voro was now totally lost in love.

Chapter Thirty

Jasper watched Tabitha pull her clothes back on while he threw back a finger of whiskey, not finding her so attractive now that he knew what every inch of her looked like. Christ, there wasn’t a single original piece to her, which really made him feel about as proud as he would have felt after fucking a blow-up doll.

Yeah, nothing to brag to your friends about.

She seemed to have enjoyed herself, though. She stumbled as though drunk, and her face had a small, very satisfied smile he recognized from the woman he’d done in the bar bathroom and the other girl from down the hall. He’d liked it well enough, but really … it wasn’t enough. He wanted something more …
wrong
.

He’d only come when he remembered the whore from the night before. The one he’d … raped? Was it rape? He’d paid her. She’d been willing. And yet he didn’t release until he had her good and terrified.

He was back to thinking there was something very unethical about him … to say the least.

“Hey baby … can I see you again?”
Tammy
was fully dressed and waiting by the bedroom door, like he might walk her out of his place or something.

He shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe.”

“I like those odds. See you, Stud.” She kissed her fingers and sashayed out his door, and he just shuddered. She was a fucking idiot.

When the door shut he was infinitely happier that he’d given her the mental boot out of his place. He made it seem like it was her own idea.
Jasper got up from his bed, naked, and headed for the shower. He had to wash her off of him. He hadn’t gone bareback on her, of course, but the smell of her perfume was really bothering him suddenly. It had to go.

He pulled back the curtain, and let out a yelp, jumping back. Essum was in his shower, arms crossed, leaning on the wall, one ankle over the other. Like he was waiting for him.

“I wanted to tell you to rest up for tomorrow, but you were … busy when I first got here.”

Great. Now he had audiences he couldn’t see. “Did you watch us?”

Essum shrugged. “Of course. It’s one of the things I can’t do until I’m in a physical body. Doesn’t mean I’m not jonesing for it.”

“If you kept it off your mind it might help.” Jasper reached past him to turn the shower on, knowing the water wouldn’t disturb a single hair on Essum’s head.

“If I’m out of my head I’m in other people’s heads, and guess what they’re all thinking of.”

Jasper shrugged as he tossed a towel on the counter next to the shower. “Fucking?” he ventured a guess.

“Exactly. You can do it, I can’t. You wouldn’t understand.”

“Hey, until this nasty little make-over you put me through I was hardly out there Hugh Heffing it up.”

Essum frowned. “Who?”

Jasper just shook his head. “Nothing. Now get out of my shower so I can clean up.”

“Scared to be in here with a ghost?”

Jasper sighed in exhaustion. “Are you gay?”

Now it was Essum’s turn to be surprised. “What?”

“You watch me have sex, you want to watch me shower … I mean, what the fuck?”

Essum vanished but his voice punched into Jasper’s brain like a migraine on steroids.
Not gay, but I can still fuck you, so watch it.

Vinnie was staring down at her so intently, Iola had the crazy thought she’d totally put him off. What was she thinking? Telling a guy how to do it better … what an idiot.

“I’m sorry - ” she began.

“If you’re sure …” he replied at the same time.

Then she smiled. “I thought I … shocked you for a moment.”

His lips were lazy as he kissed her again, then he smiled back. “Not shocked. Just … surprised. Delightfully surprised.”

She locked her ankles behind his back, and his smile broadened as she was opened slightly wider for him. “Oh, Iola … are you sure?”

“Stop asking me that.” She pushed her hips forward, feeling herself sliding down that length just the slightest bit more. Vinnie growled and latched his mouth on her hers, drew his knees up close to her hips, and thrust deep.

She cried out louder than she meant to, breaking contact with his mouth, but this was what she had asked for, wasn’t it? It wasn’t just a physical invasion; it was a complete over-throwing of her senses and her ability to think straight. She met each thrust with a push of her own against his powerful hips, and the push and drag was all the more amplified by his size. There was no extra room; every movement had her completely inundated.

And yet she was incredibly aware of everything that was happening. She was aware that as he moved his mouth across her jaw and down her neck his bottom lip dragged slightly on her skin, like he needed to maintain contact with her in between kisses. A few hours’ worth of stubble also scratched against her, feeling very male and very, very pleasant. His long, tapered hands may have been pretty but as they gripped her hips they were very strong and able.

When he raised his upper body up on to those hands he was breathing hard through his mouth. She kept her legs locked around his waist, his body rocking against hers with more and more urgency. Iola was aware of the heat building in her belly but unable to concentrate on just that, there was so much more to enjoy and experience.

His eyes may have been hooded by eyelids that were lowered in pleasure, but she could tell how bright they were as they trailed over her. His skin was slick under her hands, and she loved watching the muscles in his arms, his shoulders and his chest as he churned his body against hers. The noises he made were notching up her level of arousal as well. Every push had him growling and moaning and saying her name in a nonsensical rambling kind of way, she wasn’t even sure if he was aware he was doing it.

And the smell of him was … perfect. She could smell his soap, his after shave, and the manly smell of a good, clean sweat. She took it all in, as much as she could.

As the orgasm punched the air out of her lungs and sent stars flying through her mind, Iola was pretty sure her body would never be the same. The sensation was like fire under her skin, deliciously hot and ruthless, not wanting to let her go. And he still hadn’t finished.

Vinnie didn’t even wait, he kept the pace up, riding right through her contractions, making her next orgasm take all of about twenty seconds to achieve. Her body was being rocked back and forth on the mattress and she put one hand to the wall to keep them from hitting it as her third burst had her closing her eyes and crying out pitifully.

Then he came, going completely tense as his mouth fell open and a bellow sounded loud and low, something that was a combination of “Iola” and “oh god.” His erection twitched inside her, and she hung on to him as he went through his own episode of ecstasy.

He collapsed on to her, and she ran her hands over his back, unable to
lose the smile on her face. Her eyes closed in complete relaxation, and as she stroked his damp skin his breathing became more and more even. When she realized he was sleeping, she gave a soft laugh and gave him a tickle in the ribs. He awoke with a grunt, then rubbed a hand over his face.

“Sorry,” he said, laughing along with her and rolling away. “Oh Iola … my god.”

She rolled on to her side next to him, watching his relaxed expression in the candlelight. He wrapped an arm under her head, running a finger down her arm in a very light touch that made her shiver in spite of the warmth she felt to her very marrow.

“You are … something,” he said wearily, his eyes closed and his smile was so genuine she couldn’t stop grinning like a twit.

“Mmmm …” she pressed her lips to his slick chest, tasting the salt on him. “I think that was all you.”

He shook his head in disagreement. “If you had any idea how good you feel, look, taste … my god.”

As Vinnie trembled again, Iola was inspired by a streak of naughtiness, rising up on one arm to look down on him. She loved the feeling of her nipples brushing against his damp, slippery skin as she did so. “What do I feel like?” she asked with a small smile as she teased one of his nipples with a finger.

He gave a groan as she did so, his face breaking
into a huge grin. “Iola …”

What
do I feel like?” She didn’t stop.

“Like … perfection.”

“And what do I look like?” She flicked the other nipple with her tongue and he groaned loudly again.

“Like perfection,” he gasped.

“You already used that one. What do I look like?” She gave the nipple a slight nip with her teeth this time. He barked out a sound that made her reassess how tired she actually was.

“You look like … an underwear model?”

She raised her eyebrows, impressed. “I like that. So what was next?”

“Iola …”

“Was it taste? What do I taste like?”

He still hadn’t looked at her, he was keeping his eyes closed as she was toying with him, his mouth open and panting, easing
into a wider smile with what she was doing to him.

“I can’t … say.”

She pushed the sheets out of the way and sat astride him, making his eyes pop open in surprise. But he kept the smile.

“What do I taste like?” she repeated, her voice surprisingly firm in spite of her wicked little grin.

“Iola …”

She reached down between her legs, touching herself. She knew he was watching because his eyes got really wide. When she brought her fingers back to his lips, he latched on to them immediately, licking and sucking. “What do I taste like?”

His eyes closed as he let go of her fingers, and she felt his erection return against her inner thigh. His voice was very primal and guttural as he answered, “Like honey, Iola. You’re like honey.”

“I want to do it again.”

“Absolutely.”

Essum was waiting for Jasper when he got out of the shower, sitting on his sofa, legs crossed, staring into space.  Immediately he jumped to his feet, slapping his hands together. “Get your keys. There’s something I want to try.”

“What?”

“I just need to find something out. I need to see …” Essum’s eyes shone. “I need to see what you can do.”

Jasper had a terrible feeling, but he got his jacket on and headed down to the garage, noting with annoyance that it was three in the morning and he had to be at work at 10. Maybe this wouldn’t take long?

Essum directed him to drive to some dive of a dance club in a part of town that he never visited. Ever. The music was loud, the crowd was mostly ready to head out, and Essum told him to wait by the car while he went inside.

Jasper shoved his hands deep in his pockets, leaning against the driver’s side door, aware that his body was exhausted and his mind was reeling. What he really wanted was to just sleep …

“Wake up.” Essum made him jump about five feet in the air by kicking his feet. Jasper must have dozed off while standing up. It wouldn’t be the first time
that
had happened to him. He’d always been able to sleep wherever he ended up for the night.

Essum was standing in front of a man, large, tattooed, dressed in black leather with a shaved head. Jasper had to gulp and stand up straighter.

Trying to appear calm, he ducked his head in greeting to the stranger, then said in a shaky voice, “What’s going on?”

“Can you sense it?” Essum asked, excitement in his voice and his eyes, making them shimmer.

Jasper frowned, looking up at the pile of meat behind Essum. “Sense what?” he whispered, wondering if the Hell’s Angel bouncer was supposed to be aware of what they were discussing.

“From him? Can you
sense
it?”

Something was expected of him here, it was a test he was being thrown
into without getting the study notes first. He hated feeling stupid; in front of Essum stupid was a weakness and the guy made a point of cutting you down to size if you showed any of
that
. So all he could do was  … shrug.

Essum’s shoulder’s sagged in disappointment. “He doesn’t seem strange? He doesn’t smell peculiar?”

“No offense,” Jasper met the guy’s eyes, “but I don’t want to smell him. What is this? What is going on?”

Essum was right ticked off. “Dammit. Dammit. Dammit.”

“I’m sorry,” Jasper stammered, feeling like he was failing Essum somehow. “What am I supposed to be smelling?”

“His sins,” Essum snarled. “It reeks of fire and brimstone and sulfur and everything else that belches up from the earth’s core. It’s the stink of hell and he is covered in it.”

Jasper frowned and waited for the guy to pound Essum into the concrete like a plastic bolt in a Fisher Price workbench set. But the guy was … not paying attention to them in the least. His gaze was vacant and his eyes were not focused on anything specific. Essum must have had him under a little brainwashing spell.

“I’m sorry
I can’t smell his sins.” That’s something he never thought he’d say. “But why … why
would
I?”
