“We fit together so perfectly,” he groaned as he slid inside me with ease.

I had been wet from the moment we’d kissed and I was in absolute agreement with him.

“I love how your cock feels inside me,” I gasped as I wrapped my legs around his hips. “It fills me so completely.”

“Yes,” he gasped, “like we were made to go together.”

“Let’s come together, Rahul. I want to come for you, with you.”

“Oh, Laura, yes, fuck yes.”

We moved together in flawless rhythm. I slipped my hand between us as I was desperate for my orgasm. I wanted to come with him inside me. I wanted to feel the pinnacle of my ecstasy at the exact moment he did. Rahul lifted to allow me access to my clit, then his pelvis pressed down on the back of my fingers, and that pressure brought me ever nearer to ecstasy.

“I love you,” I chanted as I climbed closer and closer to orgasm. The scent of clean linen and fresh sex surrounded me, his body covered me, held me secure beneath him, and I just repeated over and over that I loved him. I felt safe and secure and earlier that day I had worried I would never see him again. I screamed his name as I came and hugged him all the tighter with my legs. I didn’t want to ever let him go.

Mujhe thumse pyar hey!”
he called
out moments later.

I would have known the meaning of that even if I hadn’t seen hundreds of Bollywood movies. The emotion behind the exclamation just cried out “I love you”. At the pinnacle of his pleasure he exclaimed his love for me. Rahul Khan, the superstar, loved me. I couldn’t have been happier and I laughed out loud in delight. He smiled at me and kissed the laughter from my lips and blended it with his own deep chuckle.

We continued to whisper sweet nothings as the aftershocks of bliss shook through our limbs. We cuddled together. I didn’t want to let him go, I didn’t want him to disappear on me again. He held me just as tight. He must have had one hell of a traumatic couple of  days. I’d barely thought about it, but while I might have believed myself deserted, been introduced to a Djinn and transported in an instant halfway across the world, Rahul had been kidnapped. When push came to shove, it hadn’t been a great time for either of us—well, not until the setting of the Mumbai sun and the upset of a wedding. How ironic that the abrupt interruption of one marriage before it even began would allow the love that would eventually fuel a uniting of soul mates. We embraced each other, and the beat of his heart lulled me to sleep. I was happy. I knew I was loved and I loved him in return. It was perfect
Janoon—
true love.

Chapter Nine

Johnny

So once again I saved the day and got no acknowledgement for it at all. No one remembered my dramatic entrance. Okay, that’s because I wiped their memories of it, but still I think I’m well within my rights to feel a little bit miffed. All right, so I got a thank you from Rahul and I got the satisfaction of seeing the two lovers entwined together in blankets and sleep, but, you know, for centuries of work I deserved more.

I was relieved, though, that we had arrived before the sacred knot had been tied. I’m not sure even true love can last out a long, gritty arranged marriage divorce settlement. It hurts my brains even trying to work out how that would have gone. I was extra relieved that Laura had all her limbs in the right order when we turned up because I hadn’t been sure about that when I’d grabbed her hand and did the magic. I’d never done it before and, although I knew the theory, I wouldn’t have carried it out on a full grown human under normal circumstances. Urgency dictated my actions. I knew Rahul loved her soulful brown eyes, but would he have loved them if they’d got transposed onto her left thigh? I’m pretty sure even true love would struggle with that. I’m just glad I managed to pull it all together. Of course, it was all down to me. I’m a damn good Djinn, you know. I’d tried being evil but found it wasn’t for me. Anyway, that’s another story. Where was I?

Oh yeah, Laura had driven me to distraction with her incessant questions. I guess I’d expected it, humans freak out a bit when you tell them you’re a magical, mystical creature with cosmic powers they could only imagine the limits of. At least she came with me, because if she hadn’t been willing, I would have had to leave her behind. Then Rahul and Malati would have had to get married, and with hindsight I can see what a disaster that would have been. I mean, Malati was a lovely girl, but marrying a lesbian when you’re not her female lover is never going to end well. Although if they’d have had no offspring I’d just have reverted back to my free nature when Rahul kicked the bucket. Damn, I shot myself in the foot there. But however could I have been happy when so many people would have been miserable?

I suppose I was somewhat content as I lay in my kettle that night—I’d picked it up from the hotel before I got Laura, you’ve got to have priorities!—as even a grumpy old bastard of a Djinn like me can’t help but be moved by true love.

I felt the longing deep in my heart for my own sweet love, but maybe Rahul would be the Khan who would let me go, who would let me return to my own soul mate. I had to hope. He wasn’t a bad lad, really, and Laura seemed to bring out the best in him. I knew he wouldn’t free me immediately, he still had to pay for not only his own future wedding but Malati’s failed one, too, and Bollywood weddings are not cheap. I’d waited generations for my freedom. A few more decades would be nothing in comparison. I had to hope. In fact, hope was all I had left. And If Laura’s Bollywood fantasy could come true, anything could happen. And one thing Djinn’s never do is give up.

Chapter Ten

Laura

I told you Johnny wouldn’t tell it right. He was going to leave you hanging, right there. He wasn’t planning to tell you what happened next. No, because he just wanted to show you the bit where he saved the day. He’s a pain in the arse, that Djinn.

Rahul and I married the following October under the same golden Mumbai sun. We’d had to spend some time apart while paperwork was filled in and Rahul had to work and I had to just be patient. We spent as much time as we could manage together, though, and our love blossomed. I finally moved to live with Rahul in his pearl white Mumbai mansion after our wedding, which lasted days and days and led me in a joyful dance of tradition, celebration and love. It was beautiful and bright and was the event of the year. We showed up on magazine covers the world over.

I didn’t just become a stay at home wife, no. With Johnny’s help, I managed to get into university to finish my training and became the translator I’d always wanted to be. Yes, Johnny did prove to be helpful. It is an advantage at times, having a grumpy old ornery Djinn around.

But that is another story for a different day. Let’s leave this one here and, dear reader, if you take anything from this epic tale it should be this. True love conquers all.
