Joy spread through her brighter than sun on the ocean waves. “Give me a couple of weeks so I can train someone to take over.”

“It’ll seem like forever, but I’ll wait for you.”

“Where are you?” She stepped onto the dock and looked around.

“I’m over here, behind the gate.”

She saw him then, a tall, broad-shouldered cowboy in a snow-white shirt, snug jeans, leather boots and his favorite gray Stetson. “I hope you’re not going to wait right there for two weeks.”

His soft laughter sang along her nerve endings. “I will if I have to. But I’d rather fly to meet you wherever it is you get off the ship after you’re released from your contract. Make it someplace romantic like Casablanca.”

“You got it.”

“Could you hurry a little bit? My five minutes is almost up.”

“Right.” Phone still to her ear, she began to run.

“God, you’re beautiful,” he murmured.

“I’ve missed you…so much.” She was out of breath by the time she reached the gate, but it didn’t matter. Nothing mattered but seeing him, touching him. Her gaze locked with his as she flashed her pass and the security guard opened the gate.

“I love you, Tyler.” Slowly he lowered his phone.

She stepped through the gate and into his arms. “I love you, Alex.” As he wrapped those warm, strong arms around her, as his lips found hers, she knew five minutes wasn’t long enough. A lifetime wouldn’t be long enough to spend loving Alex. But she would give it one hell of a shot.
