“No she doesn’t!” she hissed. “Beth came
right up here yesterday without even thinking about it.”

“I didn’t hear Beth come in. And Julie
wouldn’t do that,” he assured her. Moving one hand away from her ass, he tapped
her clit, smiling as she shuddered.

“Uncle John?” Beth called out.

“Oh crap, she’s on the steps,”
Liselle
said, turning pink. “I told you!”

John stopped moving. Shit.
Liselle
was right. His niece was too precocious for her own
good.

“Beth, you don’t want to come up here. Go
into the kitchen with your mom unless you want to see my naked ass on display.”
He waited, listening for her to move away. He heard rustling.

“Beth, get away from the steps!” Julie
yelled from the kitchen. “I’ve told you before, the loft is your Uncle John’s
bedroom and you’re not supposed to just go tromping up there.”

“He said he was naked, Mom! I think I’m
traumatized for life.” Beth’s voice sounded fainter, thank God.

“Oh Jesus, save us,”
Liselle
pulled the pillow over her head.

“You know,
praying’s
not going to help. Neither is that pillow. You’re totally naked from the neck
down.” John laughed.

“Shut up,” she said, peeking out. “And
you’re slacking off. Get to work, dude.” She wiggled her hips.

He grinned and started moving again. He
was kind of amazed that he was still so damn hard. He thought the horror of his
niece sneaking up the stairs while he and
Liselle
were doing the horizontal mambo would be enough to kill the most determined
hard-on, but nope.
Still going strong
,
he thought with a hint of amazed pride.

“Come on, you’re killing me here,”
Liselle
said, hitching her hips up in an effort to get him
to go faster.

He licked his lips and smiled at her, then
thumbed over her clit, rubbing the slick softness of her until she cried out.

“Yeah, just like that. Gorgeous,” he
murmured, rubbing faster. When her pussy fluttered around his cock, he dropped
down and fucked into her with deep strong strokes. God, she felt fantastic. It
didn’t take much for him to follow her into orgasm. Two, three thrusts and he
was
groaning into the sweet softness of her neck.

“I can’t believe we did that,” she said a
few minutes later, still breathing fast.

He chuckled. “I’ll be damned if I’ll let
my niece just waltz up here whenever she pleases.”

Liselle
snorted. “Oh come on, you know she would’ve been up her if her mom
hadn’t yelled at her. You have no control over that girl and you know it.”

He shrugged, still snuggled down on top of
her. He didn’t think he could move yet.

“We should go down,” she muttered a little
bit later.

He shrugged again, but this time she poked
him in the ribs.

“Come on, get up. I’m already dying of
embarrassment here,” she said, pushing at him.

He heaved a great sigh and rolled off her.
She looked delicious, all messy and flushed from his lovemaking. “Fine, I’m
getting up, see?” He propped his chin up on his hand.

She rolled her eyes.

“You know, they’ll wait for us, there’s no
hurry.”

She stared at him, aghast, and he had to
laugh. “Yeah, okay. Beth is probably about to lose her mind downstairs.” He
heaved himself out of bed and pulled on a fresh pair of boxers and sweatpants.

“Here.” He tossed her another pair of
sweats and a shirt. “Yesterday’s clothes are still in the dryer downstairs.”

She flushed as she pulled the clothes on.
“They’re going to know exactly what we were doing up here.”

He grinned. “They already know.”

“You have no idea how mortifying this is
,
do you?” She glared at him and headed down stairs.

He smirked. She’d put his shirt on inside
out.

The moment they stepped into the kitchen,
Beth squealed. “Oh my God, you were in bed together!”

Liselle
halted, shoulders going tight. John put a hand on her back.
For moral support
, he told himself.
Hers or yours?
a
sarcastic voice asked in the back of his head. He ignored
it. He had to concede that maybe
Liselle
had a point
about how interested his family would be in his love life. Beth seemed to be
taking the evidence of their sex mussed hair and clothes as some sort of
epiphany.

“Are you staying, Aunt
Liselle
?
Are you and Uncle John getting married? If so, I don’t want to be a flower
girl. I’m too old for that. I want to be a bridesmaid.” Beth’s words ran over
each other. Meanwhile, his sister Julie leaned back against the sink, hot cup
of coffee in her hands, watching the action with an amused grin on her face.

“Uh,” he said, intelligently. He cast an
imploring look at his sister. He really needed some of that coffee in order to
deal with his niece. Thankfully, she took pity on him.

“Beth, sit down and be quiet. I think
you’re freaking your uncle out.” She motioned to the table. John looked over to
where she was pointing. There was a box of donuts on the wooden surface. His
sister was awesome.

“Thank you,” he said, sincerely. He
ushered
Liselle
to the table and poured two cups of
coffee. After he’d downed his and eaten a blueberry donut, he felt better able
to face his niece who was quite literally squirming in her chair. Every time
she opened her mouth her mother cut her off, but he could tell she wasn’t going
to stay quiet for much longer. He decided to head off all her questions in one
go.

“I hope
Liselle
is going to stay with me, but I haven’t asked her yet.
Ditto
on the marriage thing.”
He took a deep breath and turned to the woman
he’d spent months thinking about and all last night holding close, grateful
beyond belief that she was all right. “
Liselle
,
please stay?”

She stared at him a moment, eyes full,
then nodded tremulously. “Yes, I’d like that.”

He grinned, and then went down on one
knee. Behind him, he heard his sister gasp and shush his niece.
Liselle’s
eyes had widened with shock. He swallowed. It was
now or never. “
Liselle
, I love you. Will you marry
me?” There.
Short and simple.

She reached out a trembling hand. “Are you
sure—?” she began to say, and he knew she still thought she was damaged. She
couldn’t be more wrong.

“I’m positive. You’re perfect. You’re
everything I’ve ever wanted.” He took her hand and kissed her palm. “Don’t make
me beg.” He smiled up at her.

She sucked in a breath, and then hurled
herself into his arms, crying.

“Is that a yes?” he asked, laughing as she
wrapped her arms around his neck.

“Yes, yes. Of course it’s a yes,” she said
into his cheek. She kissed him and he grinned, loving the way her sweet lips
smiled on his.

“Awesome,” Beth said.

John drew back and rubbed the tears away
from
Liselle’s
beautiful blue eyes.
“Yeah.
Awesome.”

Liselle
kissed him again and glanced at their niece. “Totally,” she said, a
huge smile plastered on her face. “Awesome.”
