By the end of their meeting, he would probably give her a score.

Right now, he looked like he tallied up the scores that he would give her once he finished with his criticism about her from that standing strand of her baby hair down to the soles of her feet.

“I’m sorry I kept you guys waiting.” She didn’t move. She stood beside the door.

“That’s fine. We were early so we decided to wait here and talk about stuff. Come in.” Vhynce said.

Rayle looked at Vhynce. He wanted to say something but decided not to. Vhynce saw it and he knew as well what the kid was about to tell him.

In times like this, he wanted to use his power as the CEO. And he just did.

Rayle stood up and offered his hand and said, “How do I say your name again?” There was a trace of embarassment in his voice but he didn’t dwell on it. He was simply being honest.

Ever since he and Vhynce talked about her, they had their own way of pronouncing her name but since it wasn’t an English name, he wasn’t sure how it should be pronounced. Of course, he had to ask. He wouldn’t want to mispronounce the girl’s name.

“It’s pronounced as Me-ah-ri.” She smiled and took his hand.

“Nice to meet you Meahri. I’m Rayle.”

After the two shook hands, they didn’t know when Vhynce walked towards them but he now stood beside Rayle.

“I believe you know who I am.” He offered his hand and she took it.

“Vinhelm.” She said cooly. She wasn’t used to calling him Vinhelm but she had to. She wouldn’t want to sound like someone who knew him way before than she should.

“Call me Vhynce.” He sounded like his usual self but the way he said it, there seemed to be a command behind it.

“Vhynce.” She repeated.

After they shook hands, they headed back to their seats. The two men were seated and they saw her stopped midway. She didn’t know what to do and where to sit.

“Take a seat. We don’t bite.” This comment from Vhynce made the 3 of them laugh.

“He does.” Rayle pointed at Vhynce and continued, “But I don’t.” He smiled at her.

“I’ll be nice.” Vhynce smiled.

She can’t help but smile as well. She knew Vhynce meant it. She knew him for about 5 years. She knew him without him knowing that and it’s better for it to stay that way.

“I’m not scared of getting bitten but I don’t like being jumped on.” She laughed and took her seat.

A second later, she realized what she just said.

“I mean… dogs jumping on me.. because you know, my dog loves to do that.” She said awkwardly. The two men in front of her stared at her with straight faces.

Yay to making a first impression.
She felt so stupid. She wanted to melt due to embarrassment. Thanked god, Rayle saved her. She should remind herself to thank him later.

“I’m guessing your dog is a male?” Rayle asked.

“Yeah he is. How did you know?” She asked.

It was her first time to meet Rayle and she was pretty sure he didn’t know that she has a dog and that he was a he.

“I think he finds you beautiful that’s why he jumps on you. Though that can be considered as harassment, you know?” He joked.

The joke made her blushed and Vhynce saw it. He found himself adoring that innocence of hers. Seemed like Rayle wasn’t only successful in lightening the mood but he was also successful in making his boss appreciate something he ignored a little while ago.

A few minutes ago, Vhynce and Rayle had a good time hanging out.

And now, they’re with a girl they met for the first time and only spent a few minutes with her and they’re already had a great time. Vhynce smiled as he watched the two kids talk like they’ve known each other since they were young.

The meeting went well. They didn’t only talked about Rayle’s album cover but they also talked about a lot of other things, from music to her works to random things.

The meeting was meant to be just an hour or two but it ended up being a couple of hours that Vhynce found himself hungry. He looked at his wristwatch and it was now past 7 in the evening. They had been talking for more than 5 hours and they didn’t realize it.

He didn’t even get bored and it was new for him especially talking to someone who didn’t have a model’s body. Seemed like this girl was something but he was still not fully convinced. He needed to find out what was hidden behind those eyes.

“I think I should go. I ended up taking too much of your time. Sorry. You probably have other meetings.” She sounded worried.

“No, it’s fine. We don’t have any other meetings. Right boss?” Rayle assured.

“Yeah. We don’t have other meetings. Truth is, we were just chilling today.” Vhynce smiled.

“That’s a relief. I had too much fun talking to you guys that I ended up losing track of time.” She confessed. There was a hint of worry in her voice.

“Don’t worry about it. We also had a great time. By the way, we’re about to grab dinner. I’m sure you’re starving too. Why don’t you come with us?” Vhynce offered.

“No… No… That’s fine.”

She was dying to take the offer. God! It was Vhynce! It was Vhyncent Vinhelm – her rockstar. He was the same rockstar she supported and loved for 5 years! Who would be stupid enough to decline that kind of offer? Meahri was. At least that was what she knew she should do.

The closer she got to him, the more she’d love him and that was not what she needed right now. She didn’t want any complications in her life. She liked Vhynce
a lot
but she knew him well enough to know that there was no chance for them.

She needed to end their relationship as soon as she can. That was how it should be. She didn’t need anyone to tell her that.

“Come on Meahri! Don’t be a killjoy and come with us.” Rayle insisted.

“It’s not that… It’s just tha-“ She was cut off.

“Meahri.”

The sound of her name on his lips was heaven to her ears. The way he said her name, it made her feel like she’d do anything he asked. He had his own way of saying her name. She didn’t know why it felt that way.

Maybe it didn’t sound different. Maybe it was only because she loved him and she still did. But one thing she was sure of. She may not understand it but she loved it.

She was about to say something but when she looked at him, she regretted it. She looked at her the way he looked at her the first time they met. It was those eyes that she fell in love with.

If it was those eyes, there was no fucking way she could say no.

“Don’t think about it. It’s just dinner.” He assured.

Did he just understand what I was trying to say? That I didn’t want to go because I didn’t want the press to take it the wrong way? That I didn’t want either of them to be in any news with a photo of us eating together? That I didn’t want to create any misunderstanding for either of them? Did he just understand all that?
She was left speechless.

For a moment, silence filled the office.

“Just come with us.” He said.

All she managed was a nod. She couldn’t ignore those eyes but what surprised her was how she can’t ignore the command behind Vhynce words and it was something that scared her.

She knew that if it was Vhynce who’d ask, she couldn’t decline. She wanted to but she can’t.

Her mind said no but her heart said yes.

She needed to get herself straight but how can she when her own body and mind can’t agree on the same thing?
