he Lehigh Navigation System was completed in 1829, and boats began using the entire length of it by 1832. The canal era reached its peak in 1850, and continued to diminish until it came to an end in 1931. Today, visitors can still experience some of those exciting canal days at the Canal Museum in Easton, Pennsylvania. There’s also a restored canal boat pulled by two mules that can be ridden at the Hugh Moore Park, which is also in Easton. The restored lock tender’s house in Walnutport is another interesting place to visit, and of course, it’s always fun to walk the towpath where the steady
