Laughing, mother and daughter embraced, then Mademoiselle le Brun, remarking that she would expect Miranda to follow within a few minutes, left them alone, and Denzil was able to reassure Miranda again of his love, something, he swore, to her, that he would never tire of doing in the years to come.
