“He’s a bloodthirsty maniac who said he likes war,” Greta challenged him. “He is not inconsequential!”

We’ll find him
,” Geo said in a voice that warned her to carry the conversation no further.

I watched the color drain from Greta’s face, and she nodded.

“Let’s get you in the house,” Geo said to me. “Your bare feet must be freezing.”

I hadn’t noticed before, but my toes felt numb and I could sense a loss of feeling was impending.

He led me inside and sat me down in front of the fire. As my feet began to warm, they started to throb painfully.

“I could have lost you,” Geo said as he kneeled in the floor and rubbed the feeling back into my toes.

“I’m fine,” I said. “And Vince and his pack are in jail.”

“What were you thinking jumping off Greta’s back like that?” he demanded, his voice suddenly deep and serious.

“I wanted to get back to you,” I told him meekly. “I couldn’t leave you.”

“And you nearly got killed in the process!” he said, his voice approaching shouting decibels.

“Geo, I…”

He released my foot and pushed his way between my legs. His hands rested on the couch on either side of me, and his eyes bored into my brain.

“Don’t you
ever
do anything like that again, am I clear?” he snarled.

I felt heat… intense heat. Rage. Good lord, it could have melted my frozen feet right off.

“Y-yes,” I answered.

He leaned closer to me, his lips hovering near mine, but I could still feel the heat of rage blasting off his body in waves.

“If I had lost you…”

Again his voice caught in his throat, and he said nothing. But he took my face in his hands and pulled me to him, his fiery lips blazing against mine. I was overwhelmed by the varying emotions that channeled between us, and it made it hard to figure out what exactly he was feeling.

His tongue pushed inside my mouth with fiery determination, and his tongue tangled against mine. His mouth was so rough that I could have sworn I tasted the salty, metallic bite of blood against my tongue.

His hands both grabbed fistfuls of my hair in the back, clenching tightly and pulling as our lips collided.

What I’d done, while it endangered my life and obviously upset him greatly, had ignite some underlying passion in Geo that I hadn’t know existed. This Geo wasn’t just a kind, loving, passionate lover. He was an animal. He was a rough wolf, and I had a feeling he was going to introduce me to the wolf side of him very soon.

A wildfire was raging in my loins, sweeping across the landscape of my body and singing everything in its path. My nipples were erect and pushing against the fabric of my t-shirt, and with every swirl of his tongue in my mouth, Geo added fuel to the fire.

His hands released my hair and clawed at my shirt, which he lifted over my head and tossed aside. He was clutching at my sweatpants so fiercely that I thought he might tear the thick fabric, and I lifted my ass and let him slip them off.

He swept my naked body into his arms and charged toward the bedroom, kicking open the door. He tossed me onto the bed and in a flash he had mounted me, reclaiming my lips harshly. I could feel his hardness straining against his jeans, and trying to find its way inside me.

“It’s time you met the wolf,” he growled, his eyes full of intensity.

He kneeled on the bed between my legs and yanked at his shirt. Buttons popped and flew all over the room, and he shrugged out of it and discarded it on the floor. He unfastened the button on his jeans and lowered the zipper, and the head of his cock sprang out immediately. He wiggled them off and those, too, were discarded.

My mouth watered at the sight of him palming his thick cock. I licked my lips, taking in the sight of my mate naked and full of lust. He was stroking himself slowly, and his lip curled up in a snarl.

He flipped my body over and lifted my ass into the air in one deft movement, and he began to rub himself between my wet lips. He gripped my hips and I felt him pushing against my opening. With one thrust he slammed inside me and he growled fiercely. He squeezed the flesh over my hips as he pounded me hard and fast, riding me like a wild animal in heat.

He leaned forward and grabbed a chunk of my hair in each hand, using it like reins as he rode me harder and harder. From this angle, he was entering me deeper than ever before, and he was ramming against my cervix causing jolts of erotic pain to flood through me. With each thrust, he yanked my hair, and before long the pain mixed with pleasure and made me feel unlike anything ever had.

“You are mine,” he growled behind me. “You understand?”

“Yes,” I answered quickly.

“All mine,” he snarled. “And you will never put your life at risk like that again. If I tell you to run, you run. You don’t look back; you don’t question me. You run. You got that?”

“Yes!” I answered.

He smacked my ass and I yelped. His hand slid up and down my back as if he were rubbing his scent on me as he jackhammered my pussy, and I began to feel tension building inside me. I began to tremble, and before long orgasm claimed me and I clamped down around his shaft.

He released a primal growl and sank his teeth into my shoulder blade. His body was shuddering, and I felt him release inside me as his body shook the bed with his erratic thrusts. I could feel his growl vibrating through his teeth against my shoulder. His cock continued to pulse inside me long after my own orgasm had begun to settle down.

I liked the wolf. He was rough, he was wild, and he was mine.

CHAPTER NINE

In the days and weeks that followed, I fell into my life with the pack quickly. I learned to light the wood-burning oven. I helped Greta gather wild foods for the pack including sour little crabapples, berries, mushrooms, and an abundance of nuts. Luckily, Greta could identify all the edible wild foods and she began to teach me so that someday I could teach my pups.

The other pack members began to warm up to me, and before long we were one big, mostly happy family. Pete was still shy and quiet, withdrawn into himself most of the time, but he stopped by now and then to bring us gifts of creatures he’d slain in the forest. He’d lay them on the doorstep like a housecat and creep silently away.

Christmas was coming, and Geo and I were busy preparing. He’d managed to catch a deer and a huge wild turkey, and we would have venison roast and roast turkey, along with an assortment of side dishes Greta helped me prepare. We were cooking on the oven and the hearth, and she had more food cooking at her place. The feast was so huge we had to eat outdoors, and Geo and Samson had erected a massive table made of split logs and benches.

Geo knew how much I loved the Christmas season, and he surprised me one day by cutting down a beautiful cedar tree and decorating it with pine cones and holly boughs and other little treasures. He even whittled some little reindeer and nutcrackers and hung them on the tree. Greta and I had been out gathering pecans and when I got home, I squealed with delight and threw my arms around his neck.

“You are wonderful,” I had told him.

He only chuckled, and I could feel his love for me seeping from every pore of his body.

We had all gathered for Christmas dinner around the massive table, which was spread with the venison roast and turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing, green beans and cranberry sauce, gravy and even potato salad. Greta had made the long trip into town to gather the ingredients weeks in advance because she’d asked specifically what I’d enjoyed for Christmas dinner as a human under the guise of being curious about human holiday customs.

She even had a surprise waiting in a box for me nearby, which she said was for after dinner.

Dinner was a merry affair, and even Pete managed a smile as soon as he bit into the stuffing Greta had made following the ingredient list I’d given her. I was glad I’d watched my grandmother make it a few times, though I had little idea how to put it together myself. It was even better than my grandmothers.

I was stuffed to the hilt and I didn’t think I could eat another bite, but Greta retrieved her box and pulled out an assortment of freshly-baked desserts such as German chocolate cake, coconut cake, pecan pie, and my personal favorite, sweet potato pie. I gasped with delight.

These were all delicacies I couldn’t get up here on the mountain, and I helped myself to a piece of each, not caring one bit about the fat or calories. I was accepted for who I was now, and I had no intention of denying myself all this Christmas cheer because of an extra pound or two!

As we were eating the last of our desserts and chatting merrily, a light snow began to fall. My laid my hand over my heart and gasped lightly.

“A White Christmas!” I said with tears glistening in my eyes. “I’ve never had one and always wanted one!”

“I told you I’d give you everything you want,” Geo said, hugging me with one arm.

“Like you control the weather!” I laughed.

“You’d be surprised what I can accomplish when it comes to you, beautiful,” he smiled.

The whole table laughed, even Pete.

Once the table was cleared the dishes were washed and put away, everyone went home and left Geo and me alone. He opened the windows so I could watch the snow falling gently outside, and we sat on the couch by the fire.

“I have another surprise for you,” Geo said.

He produced a tiny box from his pocket and handed it to me. I opened it to find a roughly made silver ring inlaid with a pearl.

“I’m afraid I’m not very good at jewel crafting yet,” he told me.

“Oh, Geo, it’s beautiful,” I gushed, fearing I would soon dissolve into tears.

“I know humans set a lot of store by traditions, and I believe presenting a ring in marriage is one of those,” he said. “I wanted you to have everything you have ever dreamed of.”

He took the ring from its box and slipped it onto my ring finger. It fit perfectly.

I admired the little hand-made ring, twisting my hand side to side and watching the flickering firelight reflecting off the shiny surface of the pearl.

“Thank you, Geo,” I said. “I love you dearly.”

“I love you, beautiful,” he said, squeezing me in his strong embrace. “And I will spend the rest of my life showing you how much.”
