“Where are they all now?” I ask, completely confused and dumbfounded by what he’s told me.

“Sernia is being held in the warehouse. Fury’s dad is going to pick her up and do a trade out with one of his whores that’s causing issues. Willa is waiting for your brother to come and get her. Probably needs to get medical care,” he mutters.

“Did your dad hurt her?” I ask, pushing up on my elbows.

“He did, princess; but she was playin’ with fire, and I know if they had succeeded in whatever the fuck their plans were, you would have been hurt, too,” he murmurs as he wraps his free hand around the back of my neck.

“I should go check on her,” I say as tears fill my eyes.

“Gonna have to deny that request of yours,” he says.

“Johnny, she was my friend for years, and she’s hurt. I need to know that she’s okay,” I plead.

Johnny doesn’t speak. He rolls us around until I’m on my back, then he’s inside of me with one quick thrust of his hips. I gasp at the sudden movements—all of them, and then I moan.

“She was going to deliver you to that fucking monster. Hand you over like it was nothing,” I announce as I slam my cock inside of her tight cunt.

When she gasps, I grin. Sliding my arms underneath her knees, I spread her further, immobilizing her just the way I like.
She’s so fuckin’ pretty like this
. Completely open for me, accepting me inside of her. When those pretty green eyes look back at me, I fuckin’ melt.

“She’s hurt, Johnny,” Hattie weakly murmurs.

“I’m protecting you from that cunt, Hattie. I’m not leaving her for dead like I want to, and that’s because I know it would upset you. I called Andy to come and pick her ass up. I love your naiveté, princess, but you need to follow my advice,” I say as I pick up speed and power, thrusting into her tight pussy.

“I’m not naïve,” she argues as she arches her back and digs her nails into my biceps.

“You most certainly fucking are. And, princess—I fuckin’ love it.”

I don’t allow her to speak again.

I cover her mouth with my own and shove my tongue deep inside of her, fucking her with my tongue in tandem with the stroke of my dick. I feel her pussy flutter when she’s close. Then she wrenches her mouth away and lets out a mewling sound like I’ve never heard as her cunt strangles me.

I don’t stop my hard, punishing movements, taking from her. I bury my face in her neck and I bite down on her soft flesh as I come deep inside of her, filling her full. I know my cum is leaking out of her. This is the second time I’ve climaxed in the last hour.

Fuck me, it feels so goddamn good.

“I want to see her,” Hattie murmurs.

“Fuck it. You don’t want to listen to me, then fine,” I snap, pulling out of her and walking over to my jeans.

I’m yanking my pants up my hips when I feel a cool hand on my forearm. I stop and turn to face her and am surprised to see the look of worry on her face. I expected a look of triumph because I’m giving into her wishes.

“I don’t want to see her just to make sure she’s all right, Johnny. I want to ask her why,” she whispers.

I move closer to her and wrap my arms around her, crushing her into my chest as my hand tangles in the back of her hair.

“You’re too sweet,” I murmur, pressing my lips to the top of her head. “You don’t talk to her alone. I’ll be there the whole time.”

“Okay,” she whispers. I try to take a step back, but she tightens her grasp around my center “I love you.”

“Love you, too, princess,” I whisper, unable to hide the smirk on my lips.

Love
.

Fuck me.

I love this girl.

Every single sweet, innocent, naïve thing about her.

“Get dressed then, princess. Your brother should be here any minute to collect her,” I grunt.

A few minutes later, Tasha walks up to me as I’m standing outside of the bathroom, waiting for Hattie to clean up and change. I don’t want to take her to see Willa, and it’s for more than just because I don’t want her to see the back stabbing cunt.

Willa is hurt.

I’d be surprised if she didn’t need some stitches in her ass, maybe more. My dad wasn’t gentle when he took her, and no matter how fucking wrong she was, I hated seeing a woman hurt that way, even if the bitch fucking deserved it.

“I didn’t cause any trouble, did I?” Tasha asks, looking up at me through her lashes. These bitches are too fuckin’ much—too bold.

“Nope. But in the future, leave my Old Lady and me alone, Tasha.”

“So you’re a one-woman man now?” she asks.

“Not one-woman, just Hattie. I’m just Hattie’s man now,” I say.

I feel two familiar arms wrap around my waist, and I cover her hands with one of mine and squeeze.

Without another word to Tasha, I take one of Hattie’s hands and tug on her a bit so that she’s next to me instead of behind me. Then I wrap my arm around her shoulders and tug her close to me.

“Did you really mean it?” Hattie asks a few minutes later, her big green eyes open wide and looking up at me.

I stop and turn to face her, backing her up against the wall in the hallway. It’s in this exact moment that she’s showing her youth, needing my confirmation and assurance. I’m not going to let her continue to question my words, though. It needs to stop. She needs to understand that when I say something, I fuckin’ mean the words I’m saying.

“Meant every fuckin’ word I’ve been sayin’ to you, princess. I love you. You’re mine. And I’m yours. I don’t need any other person in our bed, just you and me. When I tell you something, it’s the truth, Hattie. I ain’t gonna lie to you or hide shit from you,” I state, bending down and taking her lips, brushing against them and tasting her for just a second before I release her.

“Okay,” she whispers.

Together, we walk toward the room that houses her hurt ex-friend.

T
he room is dark, and when Johnny hits the lights, I gasp at the sight before me. Willa is lying on the bed but she doesn’t look like her. Her makeup is runny and her hair is a total wreck. She’s wrapped in a blanket, and when her eyes lift to meet mine, her face crumples and she starts to cry. I begin to take a step toward her, but Johnny tightens his fingers around my waist, halting me.

“You should go,” Willa croaks.

I want to comfort her and tell her that everything will be all right, but I don’t. I stay by Johnny’s side. I have questions and I need answers.

“Why?” I ask.

“You left me,” she murmurs.

“Okay…”

“You left me for him, and I wanted you for myself,” she says, her voice low and raspy.

“For yourself?”

“I love you, Hattie. I always have. Why do you think I sabotage everything?” she asks.

“You love me, but you’ve left me in tons of dangerous situations? You love me but you tried to get Johnny for yourself? That’s not love, Willa. I don’t know what that is, but it’s not love,” I say as I shake my head in disbelief.

“Jay was going to take you and then it was going to be us, just you and me,” she cries out.

“You think my dad was going to just let you waltz out of that shithole, Willa? He wasn’t gonna do all that work for nothin’,” Johnny states.

“I never had a problem with fucking Jay, giving him what he wanted until I got Hattie. I thought that’s all it would take. Guy like that shouldn’t be able to keep it up as much as he does,” she mumbles.

“Clue in, Willa. Jay was a fucking asshole—an abuser. He kept my mom doped up for years, my entire life, so he could bring more bitches into his bed and have his jollies. Tight young things like you and Hattie would have never made it out alive.”

“Johnny,” I whisper.

“No, I think she understands how stupid she was, now—now that it’s too late and she’s all fucked up. Say your goodbye’s, Hattie,” he says, his attitude and words leaving no room for argument.

“I hope you find whatever it is you’re looking for, Willa, but it’s not me. I’m in love with him,” I say. Willa nods and closes her eyes.

“I never meant to hurt you. Not really,” she whispers.

Johnny doesn’t allow me to respond. He takes my hand and pulls me out of the door just in time to see Andy jogging through the building.

“Are you okay?” he asks, looking me over.

“It’s the friend, Willa, not Hattie.” Johnny says.

“What the fuck happened?” Andy roars.

I look down at my fingers, twisting them as Johnny repeats the story. I don’t listen to his words when his voice dips lower and he moves his head closer to Andy. He doesn’t want me to hear him, so I don’t even try. I don’t want to know, not really. This whole thing is just such a disaster, and it makes my heart hurt that any of it happened.

“Are you okay?” Andy asks, wrapping his hand around my shoulder.

“I could be better,” I shrug.

“How?”

“If my big brother was cool with my decisions in life,” I say, looking into his eyes.

“Hattie,” he sighs.

“Johnny and I are together, Andy. We’re living together and it’s all really happening. Mom’s cool with it, dad won’t be, but I’d like to have your support, too,” I say.

“What’s that shit on your arm?” he asks, completely ignoring my words.

“I told you, we’re together,” I say holding out my arm for him to see.

“That’s fuckin’ permanent, Hattie. What are you thinking?”

“That I love him. He’s a good man, Andy,” I explain.

Andy looks from Johnny to me and closes his eyes with a sigh and then opens them slowly before he speaks.

Fuck
, Hattie,” he mutters. “You’ll protect her, never let anybody hurt her?” Andy asks, looking at Johnny.

“With my life,” Johnny states firmly.

“I find out
you
hurt her in anyway, I’m coming after you,” Andy grunts.

“I’d expect nothing less,” Johnny says lifting his eyebrows.

“Okay then. You both better be at dinner. You’ve missed way too many Sunday dinners, Hattie. Mom’s been a fuckin’ mess,” Andy says. I wrap my hand around his forearm.

“So we’re cool?” I ask, furrowing my brow.

“Do I like it?
Fuck n
o. Can I accept it? If he treats you right, then I won’t have a choice.”

“I love you, Andy,” I murmur, taking a step toward him and throwing my arms around his neck. He wraps his arms around my back and returns my hug.

“Love you, too, Hattie,” he says into my hair.

“Dinner, Sunday?” I ask looking back at Johnny from Andy’s arms.

“Whatever you want. That extends to all things,” Johnny mutters. I can’t wipe the grin off of my face.

Andy releases me and goes to the door of the room where Willa is being held. He looks back at me, Johnny’s arm now wrapped around my waist, and he shakes his head.

“Fucking hell. Got a damn outlaw in my family, and there’s nothin’ I can do about it,” he mutters, shaking his head.

“Not a fuckin’ thing,” Johnny informs him.

Fucking hell
,” Andy repeats, opening the door to Willa.

Johnny motions for a few prospects and instructs them to help in any way they can before he turns me away and takes my hand, walking me out the front door of the clubhouse.

“Where are we going?” I ask, trying to keep up with his long strides.
