King Atlas MXXII welcomes the greatest warrior of the Empire history with a huge banquet and designates him as the Army General right away.
In the war room, the new Army General learns how bad the situation is. Atlantis has been booming for centuries. A great cultural renaissance had begun, and trade with the neighboring landmasses was booming. But Atlantis has recently suffered some large-scale geological disasters. The ground often rumbles in warning, large fissures open yawning cracks in the sea floor, where smoke and fire spew out.
The best oracles are gathered to worship the God, trying to find out what made the God angry. But things turn from bad to worse despite the huge amount of sacrifices.
Then the King gets bad news: A huge army is assembled in Athens for an invasion of Atlantis. Athena, the goddess of wisdom and military victory is leading the army. Behind her, are her brother Hercules, and then Zeus, the God of gods.
“There is no military match, Commander Aja. But you talked with the gods before. And we hope that you can talk with them again to negotiate a deal.” The King concludes.
Me? I talked to gods?
Zaak rolls his eyes.
Bonita, standing at his side as Zaak’s senior servant and assistant advisor, smiles to the King. “Sure, Your Majesty. Za… Um, Commander Aja will do his job. That’s the whole purpose of coming back to this great Empire.”
“Thank you, Bonita.” The King is pleased.
“What the hell were you talking about, Bonita?” Zaak complains on the way back to his palace.
“You can do it, Zaak.”
“Hmmm?” Zaak stares at her.
“Um…, okay, Commander Aja. Remember that your nick name is Zaak?”
The General rolls his eyes and thinks hard. “Whatever. You have my mercy.”
A group of servants come the moment he steps into the palace. “I need a shower.” He announces.
“A… what?” The servants look at each other.
“A bath.” Bonita smiles.
Soon, he is brought into the bathroom. “You can leave now.” Bonita smiles to the girls.
All the servants leave.
Zaak steps into the bathtub and slides into the water. “Oh, boy, this is good.”
Bonita steps out of the bathroom and looks around. Then she closes the door and sits on a stool. She rubs Zaak’s naked body, smiling at him.
Gradually, Zaak gets excited. His cock hardens a tiny bit. Then it stands up bit by bit. “I want you, Bonita.”
“I’m already yours, Zaak.”
“You are? Bonita?” He holds her hand.
“Yes, I’m your wife. Remember?”
“Wife? You’re my wife?” He looks into her eyes. “How beautiful. You’re such a pretty woman. I wish you were my wife.”
“But I
am
your wife, Zaak. Remember we got married and then went to Le Jura for our honeymoon?” Bonita tries to bring back his memory.
“Le… Jura?”
“Uh-huh. Do you remember?”
Zaak thinks for a long time and then gives up. “Sorry, Bonita.”
“Dinosaurs. They tried to hurt us.”
“Dinosaurs?”
“Uh-huh. Remember Lar DeVito, the bad guy?”
“Lar De-Vi-to? Who’s that?”
“A bad dinosaur. Who was trying to…” She thinks for a short moment, worrying that the reality may be too disturbing for this already confused man. Hmmm, she turns the thought in her head.
Maybe he needs the strong disturbance to recall his memory.
“They were trying to eat you alive.”
“What? Uh-huh-huh-huh, this is funny, so funny!”
“Shhhh…” Bonita is so scared. She worries that someone may be listening to their conversation.
“More hot water.” Zaak stops laughing.
“Bonita, Princess Arabella demands your presence.” A servant whispers.
“Please allow me to change.” Bonita blushes.
She has met the princess a few times but they never talked about anything real.
Why does she want to see me?
Bonita’s heart races fast. Honestly, she is jealous of the princess because she is trying to get Zaak’s attention though so far with no success yet.
Is she going to ask me for help? Lord, I can’t help her to take my husband away.
Bonita is now so frustrated.
Should I talk to Zaak?
She sighs, letting out a long breath. Zaak lost his memory about who he really is. Now he is acting like the army commander of the Empire. There is no use talking with him.
Bonita puts on a pair of pretty earrings and shakes her head. She checks her makeup in the mirror one more time and then walks out of her room. “Let’s go,” she whispers.
“Sit down please, Bonita.” The princess gives her a small smile.
“Thank you, Princess.”
“So, how’s everything?”
“Everything… is fine.” Bonita smiles nervously. She’s not sure what that question means.
“Thank you, Bonita, for taking care of General Aja’s daily needs.”
“You’re so welcome, Princess. That’s my job.”
“Do you need any help? Like more people?” The prince gives her a tiny smile again.
“No, we have enough people already. Thanks anyway.”
“That’s great.”
“Anything else, Princess? Can I go back to my work now?” Bonita wants to leave immediately. The way the princess looks at her makes her feel very uncomfortable.
“Um… okay. I think I should mention something trivial. You know, tiny.”
“Anything to help me improve my work, please.”
What the hell?
Bonita’s heart is racing much faster now.
“As you know, Bonita, the General is busy.”
“Yes, Princess, I know.”
“So he shouldn’t hear anything that may disturb him.”
Bonita’s heart almost jumps out of her chest. She bites her lip and thinks hard, breathing deeply to calm down. Finally she whispers, “What do you mean, Princess?”
“Such as telling him that he has a wife already.” The princess stares right into Bonita’s eyes.
Goddamnit, she sent someone to watch us!
Bonita is not scared that their conversation has been overheard. Instead she feels like a deer cornered by a wolf. There is no way to escape. So she decides to fight back. “Princess, I was telling the truth.”
“What?” The princess raises her voice. She tries so hard not to stand up. After a long time, she relaxes and smiles.
“Every girl can have a dream, Bonita. You have been with him for long, so I understand. However, you’re only a servant. So please keep the dream for yourself.”
She stops for a moment and then continues, “Only me, the princess of the great Empire, is the perfect match for the greatest general of all the time.”
“But he comes back from four hundred years ago. He is much older than you, Princess.” Bonita looks right into the princess’s eyes. She has had enough. She wants her husband back. No one can take him away from her, princess or not.
The princess is shocked at the way Bonita talked to her. She stands up, staring right into Bonita’s eyes. Bonita looks back.
After a long while, the princess steps forward. She squeezes out her words through gritted teeth: “Your crazy dream may cost you one thing: your life.”
Bonita smiles. “Princess, regardless what you think, Zaak is my husband. And I want him back.”
“You’re dreaming, Bonita.” The princess smiles like nothing unpleasant has happened. She walks gracefully to the window, smells the flowers in a vase and then walks back.
“Why would the greatest general of Atlantis fall in love with a servant? See, he comes back, and he is back for
me
.” Her eyes are shining. “God…” She whispers, looking far into the pretty view outside the window.
“I won his heart in a battle, princess.” Bonita says quietly.
“You? In a battle? When? Where? How?” The princess steps close. Her smile disappears completely.
“In a space battle between two warships.”
“What? A spa…ce? A big room? Oh, Lord.” The princess shakes her head.
“That’s deep in the sky, Princess.”
“What? You flew ships in the sky? Gosh, tell me you’re not dreaming.” The princess laughs loud. Suddenly she stops. “Are you… are you a, a goddess?” She steps back and drops into her chair. “I’m sorry, Bonita.” She almost cries. Now she remembers that Bonita flew down from the sky.
“You want a ride in my ship?” A tiny smile appears at Bonita’s mouth corners.
“Oh, no.” The princess’ cheeks are all pale.
“Yes,
you do.
” Bonita stands up and looks right into the princess’s eyes.
The Lamborrari DS is flying along the coast. Soon it hovers high into the sky.
The prince is trying to remain calm, letting out a sharp whine only when the ship dips too quickly.
Zaak checks the map and then smiles to Bonita. “Twenty degrees east, please.”
“Sure.” Bonita’s fingers are flying on the keyboard.
The ocean is peaceful. Islands are moving towards them and then way behind quickly. “Boy, we’re travelling like gods.” Lorcan grins. Other high rank warriors nod their agreement.
They approach a large piece of land on the left.
“That should be…” Zaak looks hard but the writing is too small.
“Gibraltar. We’re at the Strait now.” Bonita smiles, lowering the spaceship a bit.
“Thank you, Bonita.” Zaak smiles. Then he turns to his warriors. “See, this is the Strait of Gibraltar between us and the Athenians. We can send our fleet to block them right here. We have the strongest navy, don’t we?”
“Yes, we do.” The warriors agree right away.
“What if they come from the sky?” The princess asks.
“From the sky? Like us?” Bonita looks at the princess and shakes her head. “That’s not possible.”
“Oh, Athena, please forgive us.” The princess prays right away. “Goddess Athena is leading the Athenian Army.” She smiles sheepishly to Bonita.
“Why do you think that the Goddess will lead the invasion?”
“To punish our… wrongdoing.” The princess lowers her eyes.
“Did we do anything terribly wrong? Are our people lazy, greedy, or extremely sinful?”
The princess thinks for a long time and then whispers, “I don’t think so. Yeah, of course, there are corruptions and sinfulness. But the Empire is trying her best to get rid of them.”
Bonita smiles. “The Goddess is always on the side of rightfulness. As long as we are doing our best, we will be protected by her, not punished. ”
The princess looks at Bonita for long while and then says softly, “Thank you, Bonita.”
The spaceship moves along the coast for a while, all the way to the east.
“Where are we going?” The princess is worried.
“Let’s check to see if there is any big army gathering down there.” Bonita smiles.
“General?” The princess looks at Zaak.
“That’s what we decided in the war room, Princess.” Zaak smiles.
“But…”
“‘But what?”
“But Goddess Athena won’t be happy if we spy on her.”
“We’re not her enemy, right?” Bonita smiles, speeding up the ship a bit.
Suddenly, the princess’ face turns pale. “Look, oh, Lord, look!” Her voice is trembling.
Bonita sees black cloud ahead. Soon she hears thundering, too.
“Lord, please forgive us.” The princess sits on her knees and prays. All the Empire warriors follow.
Bonita and Zaak smile at them.
“Oh, please, Bonita. Pray. Beg for the forgiveness of the Goddess.” The princess’ eyes are full of sorrow and fear.
The thunders are now deafening. The sky is all dark. Lightening cuts through the pitch-dark sky. The spaceship drifts up and down like a tiny boat on the stormy ocean. The princess screams. Soon, she drops onto the floor.
“We’re being punished, Lord, we’re being punished.” The princess mumbles, crawling to a corner. Her eyes are tightly shut, her ears being covered by both hands.
Bonita smiles. “Princess, that’s just weather.”
“What?” The princess tries so hard to squeeze out the single word.
“Weather. Nature. There is nothing to do with the Goddess.”
“Oh, Goddess, please forgive us.” The princess’ tears pour down.
Zaak shakes his head, chuckling.
Bonita pushes a button with a small smile. The spaceship soars up. Soon, it’s above the clouds. Sunshine appears again.
“See, told you. That was nature.”
The princess looks around in disbelief. Suddenly, she drops on her knees to kiss Bonita’s toes, “Goddess, thank you for protecting us.”
“I’m only a servant, a regular girl.” Bonita smiles.
“Oh, please forgive my sin.” The princess kisses harder.
Bonita has a hard time to convince the princess that she’s not from Mount Olympus. Finally, she says, “You know what, Princess? My home is on the other side of the planet.”
“Pla…what?”
“Planet. I mean this world. I’m from Cincinnati, Ohio.” Then she realizes right away that at this time, The United States does not exist yet. “I mean… North America.” She is hoping that the princess can understand.
But the princess looks at her with wide-opened mouth.
“That’s a big piece of land on the west of Atlantis.” She tries again.
The princess stares at her and then looks at the Empire warriors. “Any one knows of the land there?” She murmurs.
Every one shakes their head. “All water.” Lorcan speaks from experience. Then he adds, “There are big whales, of course. But none of them carry a piece of land as far as I know.”
Bonita and Zaak look at each other and smile. “You will find out later.” Bonita says softly.
Zaak keeps checking the land contour on the ocean. Soon, he announces, “The peninsula below is for Romans. Athens is not far away.”
Everyone gets excited. Soon Zaak announces again, “Athens. Bonita, would you please lower the ship for me?”
“Sure.” Bonita smiles.
The spaceship is flying lower and lower. Soon they see streets, houses, and temples. People are gathering underneath to look at them. Bonita circles the city a few times and then enlarges the circling to the suburb areas.
“See, there is no army gathering.” Zaak smiles at his warriors. “The invasion to Atlantis was a rumor.”
“Thanks God.” The princess lets go of a long sigh. After a while she whispers, “What if…”
“We will find out.” Zaak smiles. He thinks for a while and then says, “We can go and check.”
“You mean going down to their city?” The princess’ eyes widen.
“Sure, why not?”
“Now?”
Zaak shakes his head with a big smile. “No. We can do it later on, right?” He looks at Bonita. He begins to like this pretty and smart servant more and more.
“Right, Zaak.” Bonita’s eyes shine.
Soon they are flying back. Zaak announces every once in a while. “This is on the southern side of the sea.” “Tunisia tribes.” “Algeria people.” “Mo… Morocco. Look, the Strait is on the right hand side.”
