ABOUT THE STORY

Stepbrother Billionaire: Taking Her In

Adam knew that Janet was something he would always lust after, but she was something that he feared he’d never have. In his late thirties, he had almost given up on her. That was until she showed up on his doorstep asking for room and board until she got back on her feet.

Fleeing a bad relationship, she seeks comfort in her stepbrother’s arms and his billionaire lifestyle starts to sweep her in. He has his eyes set on her, and she notices the lingering gaze. Janet isn’t sure why her heart is pounding, but Adam is sure to take advantage of it and set her passions aflame.

Chapter 1

Janet could hardly believe she was doing this. She wanted to groan, but she knew that she needed to ask him.
It’s not like he doesn’t have enough rooms and money. He probably won’t even notice I’m in that mansion of his.
She thought to herself, but she still wasn’t comforted by it. There was still that little part of her that was jealous of what a success Adam had become.

I’m the one that worked hard as a kid.
She thought, but she tried to chase the thoughts away, knowing they’d do her no good. She looked up at the huge gate, and she couldn’t help but to hesitate as she reached up to ring the bell to be let in. The buzzer sounded, and she just waited.

“State your name.” A random voice shouted that was certainly not her stepbrother.

“Janet Summers.” She said. “Adam’s sister…” She finished lamely.

“One moment please.” The voice replied, and Janet shifted in her seat, hoping that she’d be let in.

She never thought just talking to him face to face would be so hard, but there was no way she felt she could have called. After a long pause, the gate began to open and she pulled her beaten up BMW up to the house, once again reminding her of the differences in their situations. She parked it where she thought best before going to knock on the door. A beautiful young lady answered with honey blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes. The maid’s uniform was skeptical at best, and she couldn’t help but to wonder if Adam was the sexual deviant he had always been.

“Ms. Summers, please come in.” She said cheerfully, moving aside so that she could. “Mr. Summers will be here shortly.” The woman said, and she was left in a waiting room that looked much more like a parlor.

The property was on the lake, and every spot in the house seemed to have a gorgeous view. She tried not to let it take her breath away as she sat down in one of the winged back chairs near the old fashioned fireplace, waiting for her stepbrother to finally make his appearance.
I wonder if he’ll keep me waiting on purpose. She
thought bitterly, trying to chase those thoughts away as well. She didn’t have to wonder too long because Adam was leaning at the door before she even realized it, looking his stepsister up and down.

Same clothes. Beautiful body. Nervous behavior.
He mused.
That’s my stepsister.
He had already been told that she was still driving that beat up BMW outside. When he had been informed that his stepsister had come to visit, he couldn’t help but to let his heart pound a little before regaining composure. At first, he couldn’t fathom why she’d want to see him, but then it hit him.
I have money, and she’s in a tough spot.
He thought, and by the looks of her, he knew it was true. He strolled into the room with confidence.

“Janet! It’s been so long.” He said with that easy going smile of his. Janet looked at him trying to return it. She tucked a strand of loosely curled hair behind her ear.

“Yes. It’s been so long, Adam. You seem to be doing extremely well for yourself.” She said, and Adam couldn’t help but to chuckle.

“I should think so. If I had squandered my billions away so soon, it’d be a shame.” He said, looking her up and down. He could tell that she was nervous by the way she tried to sit so accurately, ankles crossed, and the heaving of her chest as she tried to get it under control.

“What brings you by?” He said, raising an eyebrow as he took the seat in front of her.

“Do I have to have a reason to visit my brother?” She said, trying not to bite her bottom lip. She felt even more awkward than at the gate, and she was having second thoughts about asking at all.

“Stepbrother, and yes. Knowing you, you always do.” He said, waiting. Adam wasn’t fond of playing games.

“Well…” She trailed off, casting her eyes down. “I did need to ask a favor.” She said, hoping he’d reply but there was only silence until she decided to continue.

“I was hoping I could stay here until I got back on my feet. I don’t have money for food or rent, and I could really use the help. I just got away from Richard, and I can’t deal with him anymore. He took everything. Please…” She forced herself to add at the end.

“You may stay.” Came Adam’s quick reply, and her eyes snapped up. He just smiled at her, having plans of his own. Her body was still as perfect as he remembered, and he knew he finally had a chance to have it. A chance I won’t waste.

“Really?” She said.

“Yes. Dinner is in an hour and a half. Please be ready by then.” He said, and with that Adam started to walk out of the room.

“Thank you.” She said quickly, trying to get up to follow. However, Adam was already gone and the maid was back just a moment later.

“I was told to show you to your room.” She said with a smile.

“What’s your name?” Janet finally asked, and the girl gave her a smile.

“Annabelle, but most people just call me Anna.” She said. Janet couldn’t help but to raise an eyebrow.

“How old are you?” She asked, and this time Anna gave her a strange look.

“I just turned nineteen…” She replied uncertainly. She was shown to a room on the second floor, and Janet just shook her head as she went to go in.

“Of course you did.” She said before closing the door, leaving a confused Anna behind.

Chapter 2

Adam was ready for dinner and he couldn’t wait to see his stepsister. He had decided to go through with charming her, and he knew exactly how to do it. There were a few last minute tweaks to the menu. The cooks weren’t very happy, but he knew Janet would be very happy. He was dressed in a dark blue button-up, slacks, and polished leather shoes. He smiled as he combed his hair one more time, checking to make sure everything was perfect in the mirror before going to wait for her in the dining room.

He had sent someone to show her where it was since he was sure that she’d quickly get lost in the house if she was left to her own devices. She walked in, and he tried to stifle his laughter when he saw that Janet had put on business attire. It was flattering, but it was stuffy. She had a dipping neckline though, which was something he was thankful for when he looked at her bouncing cleavage. He motioned for her to sit opposite of him, smiling a little bit as he did.

“It seems you aren’t late.” He teased her, watching as she blushed.

“No, Anna was kind enough to show me where to go.” She replied as she took her seat.

“Yes, Anna is very kind.” He said, clearly amused.

“You would know.” Janet replied before she could even think about it. He tried not to let it darken his mood, but there was a certain tone to his voice that told Janet she had crossed a line by mentioning it.

“Tell me how I would know, Janet?” He questioned.

“She seems so comfortable around you. I thought she must have been in your radar for a while.” She said, trying to smile, but Adam just nodded as the food was brought out.

“Of course.” He said, and it was her favorites laid out. Baked salmon. Sautéed asparagus. Deep fried okra. Loaded mashed potatoes. She couldn’t help but to smile as she looked over it all, and Adam knew it was already working.

“I didn’t think you still ate southern food.” She said, and he couldn’t help but to laugh.

“Of course. I prefer salmon over catfish, but the sides are all well and good.” He teased her as he took a bite of the salmon. He knew she was especially fond of the seasoned and fried okra, which she was already digging into.

“I see you like the okra. I had the cooks add it last minute because I knew you would like it.” Adam added, and Janet smiled a little bit.

“Thank you.” She said, and she couldn’t help but to enjoy it.

“Your cooks do an excellent job.” She managed to say after dinner started to drag on in silence.

“I only hire the best.” He said, still smiling.

“How about you tell me how you’ve been Janet? You look wonderful, but this bad breakup of yours. Has it really been that bad?” He asked, curiously.

“Richard was horrible, and I just don’t want to talk about him. I mean, we did get along for a while, but he cheated on me and it spiraled downward from there.” She said, sighing as she put down her fork. He furrowed his brow, trying not to smile at the opening she just gave him.

“Cheated? On you? I don’t see how any man could.” He replied with astonishment, and Janet smiled at him a little bit.

“You’re sweet as always.” She said, starting to eat again.

“I mean it. You’re gorgeous, and from what I remember rather smart. Any man would be lucky to have you.” He continued to flatter her, noticing that she was now digging into her salmon.

“Richard must be an idiot. I’ve only known a few people named Richard, but the few I worked with weren’t too bright either. I’m sure that it’s the name.” He joked with her, and she laughed.

“Thank you.” Janet replied again, but this time she meant it. Something about what Adam had said had really lifted her spirit.

“Are you enjoying your meal? I hope so.” He said, and he watched as Janet nodded. When she put her fork down, another beautiful woman seemed to appear out of nowhere. She looked just as young as Anna, but she had reddish brown hair that curled around her face and shoulders.

“Thank you Lucinda.” He said, and she smiled a little bit at Adam, nodding as she blushed a little. With the plates cleared Janet almost got up.

“Aren’t you going to have dessert?” Adam said, and Janet sat right back down.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t realize.” She said, trying to ignore the busty Lucinda that came back with triple chocolate fudge cake and white chocolate drizzle.

“You really do still eat such things.” She said, and Adam just shrugged a little as he took a bite, watching Janet eat and enjoy it as well.

“Why do you keep looking at my maids like that?” He said amused, and she blushed a little bit.

“They seem rather young…” Janet said, and Adam just raised an eyebrow.

“Well someone needed to give them a chance and a job. I thought it might as well be me.” He teased her, and Janet didn’t believe it for a minute. It was obvious to her that there was another reason.

“How kind of you.” She said, and Adam looked at her with a devious smirk.

“I’m sure that you’ll experience my kindness.” He said, but it was little more than a husky whisper. Janet was sure she imagined the look in his eyes, but he just smiled at her.

“You’ll have to excuse me for the night, Janet.” He said, pausing by her chair. She could feel him so close to her, and it seemed like every nerve she had was on fire. She was all too aware of his presence. She turned to face him only to see him smiling again.

“Have a good night, Janet.” He said, and his hand brushed her shoulder before leaving. She couldn’t help but to shiver a little. She finished her cake, and soon enough Anna helped her back to the luxurious room that Adam had let her stay in.
