“Did I tell you I love you in pink?” he said, his voice a low rumble.

She shook her head without breaking contact. “Nope.”

“Well, I thought it. That very first day you wore a little pink undershirt.”

She gave a breathless gasp. “You noticed the color of my camisole? Wait a second, I

was wearing white.”

“I was only seeing the pink of your nipples through that camisole. It about drove

me crazy.”

She sucked her lower lip between her teeth—it was that or mash them against his.

His gaze dipped to her mouth and he groaned. “I’m holdin’ on by a thread here.”

“Not helping?”

“Nope.”

She laughed softly. “Do you need a few moments alone to compose yourself?”

“I need more than a few moments.”

“A cold shower?”

“Don’t think it would relieve the problem a bit.”

She dropped her own voice to a purr. “Would it help knowing I’m not wearing any

underwear?”

He closed his eyes tight. “Fuck, no!”

“Well, then you’re in luck. I am. Granny panties.”

“White?”

She nodded, sliding her forehead against his. “Mm-hmm.”

His grip on her bottom turned rigid. “I want to see.”

“After the party.” She gave him a quick peck on the cheek and pulled away.

“Payback’s a mother.”

Daniel’s hands tightened so hard the steering wheel groaned. He’d been sweating

bullets since he’d helped tuck her and that flimsy little dress into the cab and pointed

the truck down then highway. Her sweet floral perfume and the faint underlying hint

of arousal had him wishing he hadn’t been so stubborn. He couldn’t put his finger on it,

but something was different about her tonight.

The quick little glances she gave him lingered on his body, burning him. The little

wistful sounds that escaped from her pink mouth had him so hard the clasp on the back

of his belt buckle poked his rock-hard dick.

Katelyn sighed again beside him, drawing his gaze from the road to the rise of her

chest as she inhaled her next breath. “Is it far?”

“No. We’ll be there in twenty minutes.”

“Long enough,” she murmured.

Her tone had him worried. When her hand settled on his knee, he nearly jerked the

truck off the road. He gave her a quick glance and frowned when she undid her seat

belt and scooted closer to him on the bench seat.

“Katelyn, get your belt back on.”

She tugged the ends of the belt in the middle of the seat and buckled them together,

snuggling her hips next to his. “Mmmm. That’s better.” Her palm slid up his thigh and

down to his knee again. She smoothed it back up and then casually let it slip between

his legs.

His thighs tensed from the pleasure. “Katelyn? I don’t know what you’re

thinking—”

“You just drive and leave the rest to me.”

She angled her body toward him and reached for his belt buckle. Her hand slid

behind the buckle and Daniel sucked in his breath to give her room to work. A soft
snick

and it loosened, and as quick as he drew another breath she’d freed the button at the

waist of his jeans and slid down the zipper.

“Thought we were waiting ‘til after the dance,” he said, enjoying the change in

plans and the fact she was taking the initiative.

“This is for you,” she said. “
After
will be for both of us.” She pushed down the top

of his underwear, freeing his cock.

Daniel eased back as far as he could on his seat. When Katelyn leaned toward him,

he lifted his right hand off the wheel to give her access, and then settled it on her hair.

As she drew close, her breath bathed his hot flesh.

“You know, there are laws against this kinda thing,” he said, gasping when her

tongue laved the swollen crown of his dick.

“I know this cop,” she said, skimming her tongue along the sensitive ridge just

below the crown. “Bet he can fix a ticket.”

His hand stroked her soft hair and the truck slowed until he realized he’d eased off

the gas. He punched the pedal again. “That cop’s gonna be sittin’ in the cell next to

you.”

“Sounds like fun.” Her tongue glided down his shaft, curving to his shape.

Damn
, baby.”

“Just keep your eyes on the road.”

“Easier said than done.” He bit back a groan when she made the return trip up his

cock, swirling her tongue along his length until she reached the head.

She stuck the point of her tongue in the little slotted hole at the end and wiggled it.

Daniel bit back an oath and widened his legs, one foot still on the gas, the other leg

pressing against the door. “You’re gonna get us both killed.”

“Not if you do what I say. Don’t be such a pussy.”

He snorted. “Didn’t know you had such a nasty mouth.”

“Don’t know everything, do you?” With that, her mouth opened over the end of his

cock and she took him inside.

He gasped and lifted his hips fractionally, frustrated he couldn’t ram upward the

way he needed. His hand gripped her hair harder, encouraging her to take him deeper

inside her mouth.

Down she came, murmuring and sighing around his cock, her tongue and lips

closing tightly, her mouth sucking—deeper still, until his cock touched the back of her

throat and he eased off his grip.

But Katelyn had more to give, more amazing depths to plunder. Her throat relaxed

and he sank inside as she moved her head up and down in his lap. With his breaths

catching her rhythm, he raked her hair with his fingers, the end rushing up to meet him.

When one dainty hand clasped the base of his cock and the other dug between his

legs to massage his balls, he felt the sweet tension begin to unwind. “Baby, back off, I’m

gonna come.”

She reared back. “Gotta swallow. Don’t want to mess up your clothes.” Then she

sank down again, taking him into the moist, hot cavern of her mouth and beyond.

Air whistled between his teeth and he cried out, fighting to keep the truck between

the dashed line and the shoulder of the road while she sucked him off, murmuring her

delight and encouragement.

After he’d emptied his balls, she sat back and shook her hair around her shoulders,

a feline smile on her lips. “Think you can make it through a dance or two now?”

He pulled the truck to the side of the road and got out, adjusted his clothing and

took deep cleansing breaths of air. When he climbed back inside, he snaked his hand

around the back of her head and kissed her hard. “Don’t ever do that again.”

Ten minutes later when Daniel helped her down from the cab of his truck, he barely

resisted the urge to shove her back inside. Her nipples poked against the thin cotton of

her dress and her hair was a little messy, her lips swollen and her lipstick nearly gone.

He didn’t want to share the sight of her with any other man. While he smiled down at

her, he gritted his teeth. He’d just have to be satisfied with the fact her pink lipstick

ringed his cock.

The open bay of the firehouse was strung with lights and the music could be heard

well before they crossed the road to the parking lot. Food was laid on banquet tables to

one side of the open bay. Sodas, punch and pitchers of tea were on a table to the rear. A

band played country music to which people of all ages danced.

Katelyn passed the evening in a happy haze. With Daniel’s arm curved around her

back, she felt proud and protected. His glance never rested on another woman in the

room. He introduced her to several people and she felt welcomed. If she caught a few

curious stares, warm smiles quickly followed. It appeared she’d worried about her

reception at his side for nothing.

The music slowed.

“Would you like to dance?” Daniel murmured in her ear, his arms enfolding her

from behind.

She glanced around at the other couples already circling the dance floor. “I don’t

know how to dance like that,” she said, leaning back against his body.

“It’s a two-step. It’s easy. Trust me, I’ll show you how.”

She turned and raised her hands to him, giving him her trust in the deepest sense of

that word. He grasped one of her hands in his and placed the other on his shoulder

before pulling her closer. He began the steps slowly, heedless of the beat of the music,

then picked up the pace as she learned. They circled the dance floor, swaying together

with the rhythm of the music.

To Katelyn, dancing within the circle of Daniel’s arms was a hint of the heaven

she’d know later—when their bodies blended and merged while they made love. Their

movements now were pleasurable, their bodies perfectly aligned and in sync. When the

dance ended, they both smiled.

“See, I told you could do it.”

They had come to a stop in a darkened corner of the room. His hands still rested on

her waist, and she tried to forget the other people were beginning a new dance, so near

to them.

Daniel watched her as she gathered her courage and lifted her hands behind his

neck to pull his head closer to hers. This time her lips caressed his as she learned their

shape and texture, first with her lips then her tongue. She followed the closed seam of

his mouth, and he opened his lips on a soft moan.

Daring filled her, and she swept her tongue into his mouth, sliding it along his. She

tasted the punch they’d drunk earlier and his own unique flavor. She gasped when his

tongue began to slide sinuously against hers.

“Would you like to leave?” she asked breathlessly, when she could pull her mouth

from his.

He didn’t answer, but his flushed cheeks and the starkly drawn features of his face

told her he was as desperate for privacy as she was. Taking her hand, he pulled her

along out of the dance hall to his truck.

The drive back to her home seemed to take forever. Neither of them spoke, but she

was glad for the silence. She didn’t want to think; didn’t want to change her mind about

what she knew would happen.

Daniel’s heart pounded fast. He tried to temper his expectations, to keep his

excitement in check, because at any moment she could change her mind. Despite her

boldness during the drive to the firehouse, he couldn’t let his hopes take flight. He’d felt

off balance all evening, having surrendered the pace and the direction of this night to

her care the moment she had opened her front door.

Everything after that had been a blur. All he could see were her flushed cheeks,

softly curling hair and that bit of pink fabric that kept him a sane man. He’d been all too

aware of the curious, covetous gazes that had followed her that evening. He knew he’d

have some competition for her time soon, if he didn’t make his move quickly to place

his brand all over her.

When they pulled up the drive she fumbled for her keys and he took them from her

shaking hands and unlocked the door. She didn’t turn on the light. Moonlight poured

through the living room window. Silver tipped her eyelashes and the curls that lay

against her shoulders. Shadows settled in the curves between her breasts visible above

the bodice of her dress.

“Are you sure about this?” he asked, praying she was.

She didn’t reply. Instead her lips parted, and a small shivery sigh escaped. She

moved closer and touched his face with her open palm, and then leaned into him to

press small kisses to his chin, along his jaw and finally his mouth. He let her take the

lead, and when she urged him to open her mouth against his, he obliged. Gently, he

drew her body closer until he couldn’t tell whether it was the beat of his heart or hers

that hammered madly at his chest.

Abruptly, she broke the kiss, and rested her face against the crook of his neck. “I’m

sorry,” she said, but instead of pushing away from him she wrapped her arms around

him.

He sighed, this wasn’t what he’d hoped for, but at least she wasn’t showing him the

door. “Katelyn, you don’t have anything to be sorry for.” She raised her head, and he

gave her a crooked little smile despite the ache that pressed against the front of his

jeans. “We can just talk,” he suggested.

She stood in the circle of his arms, looking at him for the longest. Then she pressed

her hands against his chest. He let her go and did his best not to reveal his

disappointment.

She turned slightly from him and held out her hand. “Daniel, I’m not a sure this is

the right thing for us to do…”

His heart began to beat faster. “Baby, I’m not asking for more than you want to

give.”

She led him to her bedroom. Blood sang in his veins, and he tightened against

moving as quickly as he really wanted to. Instead, he let her set the pace, surprised

when she turned on the lamp next to the bed and slowly drew her clothing off a piece at

a time, until she stood naked in front of him.

The bright color on her cheeks, and the way she stood shyly, her hands held

awkwardly at her sides, told him she wasn’t accustomed to being so bold.

Lifting his gaze to hers, he said, “You’re so beautiful you make me ache from

wanting you.”

Without taking his eyes from hers, he stripped off his shirt, shucked his jeans and
