For Chris

My personal Mr. Ashley

T
he flight home is eleven hours long. I try to sleep on the plane but every time I close my eyes, visions of Jacquelyn pop in my head making me nauseous and my chest so tight I can’t breathe. I try to get lost in the in-flight movies while everyone around me sleeps but even the most intriguing movie can’t capture my attention now.

How did things get so fucked up? Why did this have to happen now? Am I really just destined to have a shitty life?

Every time I look up I see an attractive flight attendant trying to get my attention from her station. She’s tall with sexy curves that make her uniform look more like she’s working a strip club rather than a professional uniform. She makes her way toward me, tucking her hair behind her ear with a small smile on her face.

“What’s eatin’ you up sweetie?” she says leaning on the back of my chair so her cleavage is clearly displayed.

Her southern accent catches me completely off guard. “I’m sorry?” I respond, removing the ear buds from my ears.

“Everyone else is asleep, and yet I see you over here with this look on your face. I thought you might need someone to talk to,” she says while placing a hand on my knee.

“Thank you ma’am, but I’m ok.”

“Look at you all prim and proper but please, you call me ma’am and I feel like you’re talking to my mother. Please, call me Daphne.” She holds out her hand for me to shake.

I do, smiling, “Sorry, I’m Charlie.”

“Hmm, Charlie,” she smiles with the look I’ve seen in way too many women I’ve been around but I could care less. “Ok, well if you want to talk, I’ll be right over there.” She winks at me, turning around and walking back to her station.

I shake my head, putting my earbuds back in. The last thing I need is to be talking to a female I don’t know.

I try to go back to watching the movie but keep seeing her watching me; trying to flirt any chance she catches my eye. To say I’m a little frustrated would be an understatement. I pick up my phone and click the iBooks icon, reading the book I recently downloaded, trying to keep my head down, away from her glare.

I must have fallen asleep at some point because Daphne rubbing my leg suggestively awakens me. “Charlie honey, time to wake up. We are almost to San Francisco.”

I jump in my seat at the feeling of someone rubbing very closely to my cock. When I look to Daphne, her eyes narrow giving me a sexy, pursed lip look. Fuck me. This chick will not get the hint.

“Ok… thanks,” I stutter, shocked by her audacity.

“It’s no problem baby, I’d like to wake you up,” she says turning around and walking away with a sexy sway in her hips.

I can’t help but roll my eyes; thankful the flight is finally over. Once the plane lands, I grab my small bag from the overhead compartment and wait in the long line to get off the plane.

Daphne touches my arm then holds up a piece of paper smiling, “I was serious, anytime you want to talk give me a call.”

Even though I want her to back off, I’m not a dick so I try to be nice, giving her a simple smile, lying, “Sorry, but I’m married.”

“Oh, my apologies, I didn’t see a ring.”

I shrug, “I don’t need a ring to remind me how much I love her.” Though I lied about being married there is no lie to how much I love Allison.

Daphne gives me a sweet smile, “Well, she’s a lucky girl,” and slips the piece of paper back into her uniform.

Outside the airport, I hail a taxi to take me back to my apartment. As I enter the room everything feels different. I look around and notice just how empty my apartment really is and, more importantly, how empty it makes me feel.

I pick up my phone to Skype Allison. It’s ten at night in San Francisco but with the time zone nine hours ahead, it is seven in the morning in Paris.

Allison answers by only clicking the button on and not holding the phone up so I can see her, “Hey, baby.”

“Hello… I made it home.”

“Oh, good. How was your flight?”

“Long. I miss you already…”

“I miss you, too,” her voice fading away.

“Why can I only see the ceiling of the hotel room? Hold your phone up so I can see you.”

There’s a long pause before she picks up the phone and now I can see why she was avoiding the camera. “Is this better?” she tries to smile.
