EPILOGUE

“Well look who hooked up at the wedding!” Donna called out.

Tony and I were on the porch glider, drinking our morning coffee.  My feet were in his lap, and I only had on a tee shirt.  Tony wore his jean shorts and nothing else.  We both wore dopey grins.

“Hey, Donna,” I said.  “Nice day, right?”

“The best,” Donna replied.  “Surf’s up, and the curls are rocking.”  She had a bathing suit on, and I was certain Donna had already been hanging ten.

Cassie and Brenda weren’t far behind Donna.  Soon, the five of us were gathered on my little porch—five, counting Tony.

“So,” Cassie said, “in this bag is a thumb drive with the only copy of that video I promised you, plus that medicine you need.”

“You need medicine?” Tony asked.

“Maybe,” I replied.

Brenda said, “A deal’s a deal, and we are satisfied.”

“Thank you,” I replied.  I looked at the brown bag Cassie had brought, and I looked at Tony, and I looked at Donna.  “Do I have to take the medicine right away?” I asked.

Donna’s eyes lit up.  “No!  No you don’t.”

“Actually,” Cassie said, “we’d like to talk with you about another idea we have.  You know once we put our heads together, we really come up with doozies!”

“That you do,” I said.  “Another idea, huh?  More outlandish than your last one?”

“Definitely,” Cassie replied.

My legs were bouncing on Tony’s lap.  I was so excited.  “Well,” I said, “before I take the medicine, we’ll definitely have to talk about your idea.”
