He grunted. “Your clit’s hard. Stroke it for me. Pinch that little cherry until you scream my name.”

His hold on me tightened and I did as he said.

Pushing my finger through my folds, I flicked it back and forth over the erect peak and squeezed, sending a jolt of electricity through my body.

“That’s it. Make yourself come for me,” he breathed against my neck.

The movements of my finger became attune with the deep thrusts of his cock. I screamed as a shatter of ecstasy erupted through me leaving me breathless.

His name left my lips three times before his length pulsed, spilling his semen inside of me, coating me with his essence from within.

I moaned, falling back against him.

Brett lifted me in his arms and carried me to the bath before placing me in it. He quickly undressed and sat behind me.

My eyelids grew heavy and my skin tingled, reveling in the feel of him washing me.

“I want pictures of you in my club,” he whispered.

“Hmm…okay.”

“I want to show people your beauty.”

I looked up at him and cupped his cheek. “What if someone says something bad about it? Or a man makes a comment?”

His eyes narrowed and he took a breath. “If I can’t deal, I’ll take them down.”

Through the foggy orgasm induced haze of my mind, a thought came to me. “No one will know it’s me?”

He shook his head. “No. The hall leading into the main club will be lined with black and white pictures of you, my sweet Evvie.”

My stomach flipped. “Did you just plan this or have you been thinking about it for a while?”

He winked, his eyes twinkling. “A while.”

“I’m surprised you want to share me.”

His jaw ticked. “I don’t. People will think it’s just some random black and white photo of a woman. No one will know different. I will never share you, Evvie. You’re mine.”

A breath caught in my throat at the finality of that statement.

“The pieces will be called,
My Heart
.”

“My Heart.” I liked the sound of that.

“You should see the one I took in Mexico while I had you bound and gagged.”

My eyes widened, my cheeks heating. “You didn’t.”

A mischievous grin spread on his face. “I did and this photo…” His hand trailed up my thigh. “will no doubt turn you on more.”

I licked my lips. “What’s it called?”

Controlled

My cell rang as I reapplied my lip gloss. Reaching into my pocket, I pulled out my phone. “Hey Evan.”

“Hey sis. Where are you?”

“At work,” I said, looking in the mirror of the club bathroom.

“I heard you own a club.”

My stomach twisted and I mentally smacked myself. How could I forget to tell my family, of all people, that I now owned a club? “I’m sorry. Things have been crazy since getting back. I was going to tell you.”

“I know. So I guess you and Brett are serious?”

“Yes.” My heart gave a start at the mention of his name. “We are. I wish you would warm up to him.” Ethan got along with him after Brett punched him in the jaw for thinking he was hitting on me. But Evan was cold as ice when it came to him.

Evan sighed. “No matter who the guy is, I will never like him. No man is good enough for you, Evvie.”

“I understand where you’re coming from, Evan. I really do. But you’re going to have to get used to him. He’s not going anywhere.” And that was final.

“You hear from Everett?”

I smiled at the change of subject and left the confines of the bathroom. “No, not for a while.”

“If you do, please call me.”

“Why? Is something wrong? Is dad okay?”

“Dad is fine. Stubborn as hell but stronger than ever.” Evan laughed.

A breath of relief left me. “Oh good.”

“You happy?”

“Yes, Evan. I am. I have to get back to—”

“Just don’t do anything stupid, Evvie. Don’t change for anyone. Be yourself and if he doesn’t love who you are, dump his ass.”

I frowned. “I think you should practice what you preach, dear brother. Have you called Anna?”

He scoffed. “Anna was a one-time thing.”

I laughed. “Yeah. Okay.” I knew the men in my family. Once a woman had them wrapped around her fingers, they were hers forever. The Neal men fell in love and they fell in love hard and fast. Realization dawned on me. I was the same way. Why didn’t I think of that before?

Evan and I chatted a few more minutes and we made plans to get together with Ethan and go visit our father. Hopefully by that time, Everett would be around.

Heading back out in the dance area, I walked around the bar as Brett slid onto a stool.

He grinned and winked at me, crooking his finger for me to come closer.

My body heated and I closed the distance between us. Leaning over the counter, I placed a kiss on Brett’s mouth.

He chuckled against my lips. “The boss shouldn’t be fraternizing with his staff.”

“I quit and then you rehired me after we got back together so that doesn’t count.” I smiled.

He shook his head, his bangs falling in his eyes. “Yes, it does.”

I laughed and brushed a strand off his forehead.

His gaze searched my face. “Everything okay?”

“Yeah, just got off the phone with Evan.”

“And?”

“Everything’s good. Just checking in, in his usual big brother way,” I said, brushing a strand of hair off his forehead.

“Good.” Brett grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it before placing a kiss on my ring.

My heart gave a start every time he did that. It was almost like he was reminding himself that I was in fact his and he was mine.

Tatiana rolled her eyes and pretended to gag. “I think I just puked in my mouth a little.”

“Whatever. You’re just jealous,” I teased and playfully nudged her shoulder.

She grinned. “Why, when I have that hunk of meat filling my…needs every night?” she asked, indicating Kane.

He licked his lips when his gaze landed on Tatiana.

“Ugh…gross. He’s my best friend, T. I don’t wanna think about what he’s filling at all,” I joked.

Tatiana laughed and grabbed the tray of drinks, shimmying her hips as she left.

I shook my head and wiped up the counter. The benefit was a huge success. People of power and business men alike donated thousands of dollars to the proceeds to help families affected by drunk driving. I was impressed with how many people it had reached. Now everyone mingled, ate and partied. Brett had also made sure taxi vouchers were available for everyone that had been drinking.

Finally taking a moment to himself, Brett joined me at the bar after receiving much arguing from me of course.

“Why don’t you take a break, lover?” he purred.

A shiver ran down my spine. I would never get used to Brett’s deep voice whenever he talked to me. “Can’t. I don’t want to get in trouble with the boss.”

Brett’s blue eyes darkened, raking his gaze over my body. “If you get in trouble, I’m the sure the boss would punish you in ways you never imagined.”

My core clenched.
Oh dear God
. “I—”

“Brett. My darling baby boy.”

I cringed as Brett’s face changed from a look of hungry desire to downright rage in a matter of seconds.

We both turned to the sound of his mother’s voice she walked up to us.

My stomach twisted, my heart racing a mile a minute. This would not be good. Not good at all. It had been weeks since we’ve seen her. Weeks since we’ve seen Claire, as well. The only person I had to deal with lately was Anna but we were becoming fast friends.

“What the hell do you want?” Brett bit out.

Diane sneered and sat on the bar stool beside him. “To talk.” She looked at me, her gaze going cold. “Can we talk somewhere private?”

“No. Either you talk here or get the fuck out,” Brett said through clenched teeth.

At that moment, a large man came into view. “Hello son.”

I swore I heard Brett growl. His tense body, big and strong as he stared down the new visitor but the look in his eyes showcased terror. A little boy that had been abused by the one person who was supposed to love him. I needed to get him out of there but my limbs were frozen as I watched the scene play out before me.

“What…” Brett croaked. He cleared his throat. “What is he doing here?”

Diane smirked. “He’s my husband now. Meet your stepdad.”

“You married this asshole? After what he did to me?” Brett yelled.

Several people turned our way and I couldn’t help but be embarrassed for him. He didn’t need his personal life aired in public and he didn’t need to face the wrath of Mathis either. To find out a person you worked with was a ticking time bomb waiting to explode would not look good in the new partnership.

“He didn’t do anything that you didn’t deserve, little boy,” Diane said, grabbing her husband’s hand.

Brett rose to his feet. Veins protruded from his thick neck and he cracked his knuckles, taking a step towards the large man.

Oh shit.

I motioned to Jake Chan.

He quickly walked up to me, his brown eyes frantically moving back and forth as the onslaught of the nightmare took place before us. Always the worrier. But this time, he had every right to be worried.

“Please take over.”

He nodded. “Of course.”

I squeezed his arm encouragingly and walked around the bar, staying a foot behind Brett.

Diane glared at me, her cold eyes boring into me like hot knives. Well I didn’t care. She was messing with the wrong woman if she thought I was going to sit back and let her destroy my boyfriend’s life.

“Tell your little whore to leave us be. This is a family matter. Doesn’t concern her,” Diane said casually, checking out her manicured nails.

Whore? Really? “At least I’m not the one who ruined my kid’s life.”

Diane looked around. “He seems to be doing fine all on his own.”

I stepped between her and Brett. I knew I shouldn’t have gotten in the middle of their issues but he was mine. There was no way I’d let him deal with this shit on his own.

“Leave. Now,” Brett growled.

“No. Not until we get what we came here for,” the older man stated.

“Yeah? And what’s that?” I asked, ignoring the warm tense body behind me. I could feel the rage pouring off of Brett.

“Brett.”

I stared at Diane. That one word confused the hell out of me. What did she want with him? “Don’t you think you’ve done enough damage? Leave. Both of you,” I demanded.

Diane rose to her full height. Unfortunately she towered over my five foot nothing frame but I was a Neal woman. I was not backing down.

I tilted my head and stared up at her, owning my place.

“Brett will come with us,” she sneered. “We have some family matters to deal with that don’t concern you.”

“Everything you say to me concerns her. If you don’t talk now, then get out,” Brett demanded.

“We have some business to attend to, Brett, in private. You
will
talk to us,” Diane stated matter-of-factly.

“Not on your fucking life. You’re dead to me. From the first moment you hit me, you were no longer my mother,” Brett snarled.

The words leaving his lips broke my heart.

Diane’s gaze looked past me and if I didn’t know any better, I’d say she was checking out her son.

Bile rose in my throat. What kind of sick person was she? Oh God. Please tell me she never…I shook my head. Brett said the abuse was never sexual. But with the way she was looking at him like she wanted to eat him alive, it made me wonder if he blocked out those memories.

I turned and placed a hand on Brett’s chest, pushing him back. “Let’s go.” Something tugged at me, telling me to get him the hell out of there. I needed to save him. From his mother, her husband and the judgmental stares of the onlookers surrounding us.

His jaw clenched, his stare dark and cold.

“Brett, please,” I begged.

“Did you tell your whore how much you liked it when I beat you?”

After those words left his mother’s lips, everything happened so quickly, it was like I was watching a movie.

“Leave. Now. Get out of my club,” Brett yelled.

“Next time you want a real man, give me a call.” The man smiled at me, licking his lips.

Brett snarled. “Get the fuck out. Now. I hate you. I fucking hate you. Both of you,” Brett screamed. He grabbed hold of the nearest table and flipped it over, the contents crashing to the floor. “Out. Now.”

Kane hurried over to us and grabbed hold of Brett’s shoulders but he fought him off. I stood there frozen in place and before things could get worse, I mentally smacked myself.

Taking control of the situation, I grabbed onto Brett’s suit jacket. “Come with me.
Now
,” I said with as much force as I could muster.

He looked down at me, his nostrils flaring. Something at that moment changed. I fell into the depths of his dark stare, captivated by what I saw. He was looking at me like he could see into my soul, see into my being at that very second.

I didn’t know how I could tell but I knew he needed me in a way I never thought was possible.

“We’ll be back for you and your little whore, Brett. I’ll show her what a real dick feels like.”

I cringed and looked behind me, watching Diane and her gross pervert of a husband being ushered out of the club by Kane.

I realized then that I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have broken eye contact with Brett because when I looked back at him, I saw something in him that I never thought I would see.
Fear

I swallowed hard and grabbed Brett’s hand, dragging him away from the onslaught of the viewers around us. My body vibrated like the tension from him was pouring into me.

Once reaching his office, I let go of him and the door slammed behind me.

I looked at him over my shoulder and gasped.

His eyes were black, cold as ice as he slowly sauntered towards me. His back hunched over slightly like he was waiting for me to bolt so he could catch me. I was the prey and he was my predator.
