She wobbled and would’ve slid down the side of the truck like melted butter if he hadn’t pressed his pelvis against her to prevent it.

He was watching her face for her reaction.

She gave him her reaction in his mind.

He swore tightly and bent back down for another scorching kiss that rocked her world and curled her toes.

She moaned, he groaned, and somebody yelled, “Get a room.” He swore again.

“I know I’ve said this before, but you’re hell on my self-control.”

“Good,” she replied and smiled. “Get used to it.”

He settled her in and buckled her up, stopping when he was finished to look deeply into her eyes.

“I love you.”

“I know,” she said, and it was true. After everything she had no doubt he’d come tonight for her, and if the words weren’t enough, the massive influx of emotion across their link was more than.

He kissed her softly, and she whimpered as he pulled away. His eyes promised so much, and she wanted him so bad.

“Hussy.” He laughed and went to get in on his side.

As he cranked the car and pulled out of the lot, she turned to him and gave him a look so hot his cheeks went ruddy.
Good, he knows what my game is.

“Don’t do it,” he warned her as he took a curve fast enough to squeal the tires.

“Do what?” she asked in a breathless voice.

“We’re only ten minutes away. Don’t do this to me.” He was damn near begging.

Then she was the one rocking his world as she said the one word guaranteed to make him slam on the brakes.

“Bastian.”

The End

About Lea Griffith

Lea Griffith began sneaking to read her mother’s romance novels at a young age. She cut her teeth on the greats: McNaught, Woodiwiss, and Garwood. A firm believer that love makes the world go round, she still consumes every romance book she can put her hands on, but now she writes her own.

Lea lives with her husband and three teenage daughters in rural Georgia. Two dogs, a cat, and a beta fish named Coddy George complete a family that is always in motion. When not working at the EDJ, she’s usually at her keyboard, using every spare second to write. Shifters, artificial intelligence, and gene splicing, oh my! Nothing is off-limits when it comes to her writing.
