Chapter Three

The event was nearing its successful close when I finally stumbled across Giovanni Triton. Sebastian and Frederick had spent much of the evening making small talk with guests I didn’t know, investors and businessmen who wanted a piece of the royal Dutch pie. It was no secret how incredibly wealthy the brothers were, both from inheritance as well as smart business practices, but you would be surprised how far people were willing to go to suck up to the opulent princes.  I expected the smug son of Mr. Triton to do much of the same as he approached, a flute of champagne in his tanned hand and a drunken bimbo attached to his arm like a leech, but his face immediately devolved into a sneer and his voice was as cold as ice.

“Delilah, I see my father’s kept you around.” He said, moving his glass back and forth and sloshing the bubbly liquid around. “You were in charge of this shindig, weren’t you?”

I nodded, an uneasy feeling spreading within me. Giovanni had always been the opposite of his father. He was slick and sneaky. He thought his father’s money was indicative of his own success and perseverance in life, but he merely sat in
the wings, waiting for the old man to die so he could scoop up even more of the Triton fortune. He was handsome, yes, but his personality had always rubbed me the wrong way. He was a complete ass if I ever saw one, and he’d hated me since Mr. Triton had brought me on, probably because he saw no need for my services. If his father needed help, he should just hand over the company now. That’s how he saw it, anyway.

“Hmm, it was much better last year.” He said in an offhand manner, staring into his glass. “I guess that’s what you get when you have common people like yourself make merry for the better off.”

Frederick had appeared at my side after wrapping up a conversation with another guest in time to hear this comment. His azure eyes narrowed in alarmed confusion. I floundered, attempting to find some witty comeback but also knowing that I couldn’t publicly insult the CEO’s son at the company’s biggest single event of the year. My cheeks flushed with embarrassment at the jab, but before I could reply, a deep voice injected itself into our conversation.

“Mr. Triton, sir.” Frederick forced a friendly smile on his face, but it didn’t seem very genuine. “I have had the pleasure to spend the evening with Miss Donahue at my side and I will vouch for her decidedly uncommon nature.”

Sebastian approached, flanking me on my other side. I felt dwarfed by the two towering men, their bodies close enough to me that I could feel the warmth radiating from their lean figures. The blonde brother said nothing, but fixed Giovanni with a firm stare. I would have been cowering in a corner had those eyes been directed at me, his look was so intense.

Giovanni paused for a moment, scowling before slapping on a smirk.

“I was merely making commentary on the evening in my own opinion.” He said smoothly, the blonde woman next to him growing bored with the conversation and tugging on his jacket. Giovanni ignored her, fixing Sebastian with a glare of his own. “I am allowed to have my own opinion, aren’t I? This
is
my father’s hotel, after all, and soon it will be mine.”

Frederick’s smile widened as he pulled me to his body, wrapping one strong arm around my waist and drawing me beside me gracefully.

“I am fully aware of Mr. Triton’s worth,” his grin turned into a sly smirk. “but what have you done to earn my respect? You have merely insulted my friend and the lovely evening she helped put together.”

Giovanni gave an undignified smirk and shook his head.

“I guess royalty doesn’t equal intelligence. You might have a lot in the bank, my boy, but you’ve got a long way to go until you’re ready to play in the big leagues. Your family’s money, your name—it can’t keep you afloat forever. Keep running your mouth like that and you’ll be chewed up by the real movers and shakers.”

Frederick nodded politely.

“And you’re sure to be burned as soon as you step out from your father’s shadow.” Sebastian cut in, the first time I’d heard him speak. He’d spent most of the evening listening to others speak and nodding politely. His voice was deeper than Frederick’s, quiet but powerful. I felt a shiver run down my spine at both his proximity and his tone. Before Giovanni could reply, Frederick guided me away from the bumbling businessman and toward a side door. Sebastian followed silently behind, but I could sense some sort of unbridled ire beneath his serene exterior.

I felt an incredible admiration for these two men as they escorted me through the door and into an adjoining hall that was supposed to be for serving staff only. It truly was a fairy tale, with two Prince Charmings coming to my rescue, not that I couldn’t have handled sniveling Giovanni on my own. I’d dealt with the man for months now
but having such attractive, intimidating men on my side felt even better than taking him down alone.

I came to a stop at the end of the hall near the service elevator and turned to the men. Frederick had his now trademark grin on his face while Sebastian seemed to have calmed considerably. He slipped one hand into his pocket and leaned against the wall. I struggled to find the correct words of gratitude, but Frederick opened his mouth first.

“That guy is a real charmer, huh?” He laughed quietly, rubbing his face with one hand. His hand slid into his hair and rearranged the messy strands briefly before they fell back across his forehead.

“He’s a dick.” I scowled, not bothering to censor myself. Frederick seemed to enjoy my crass attitude while Sebastian merely nodded. “Listen, you didn’t have to do that back there. He’s probably going to expend the rest of his energy tonight talking as poorly as he can about you two to whoever will listen.”

“Ah, let him.” Frederick waved his hand dismissively. “The little make their fun by tearing down the big.”

I smiled warmly as Sebastian and Frederick exchanged a glance. An imperceptible nod from the older man caused me to raise an eyebrow in confusion. What were these two up to? Suddenly, Frederick stepped closer, taking my hand once more and bringing it to his breast.

“Delilah, you truly are a delightful creature. Would you like to join my brother and me for a glass of wine in our suite? We can pay no mind to the falsities being exchanged in there.” He gestured to the ballroom. I felt his heartbeat beneath his sturdy chest and exhaled a shaky breath. These men were gorgeous, they were billionaires, they were
princes
! Why were they interested in having a private party with me? I almost didn’t believe it, but the sincerity in Frederick’s dark blue eyes made my heart pound and my stomach turn pleasantly. Such strong, masculine beauty…

“That sounds lovely.” I heard the words fall from my lips before I had even remembered thinking them. Frederick kissed my hand once more and let his fall to the small of my back. I felt his little finger grace the line of my panties, I thought, but I must have been delusional. There was no way in hell this man could want me in a carnal, passionate way. He could have any woman he wanted, they both could.
I followed his guidance as we approached the door to the ballroom, which we would cut across to return to the main lobby and from there the de Wit suite on the forty-third floor.

Chapter Four

Walking into the immaculate suite of the de Wits, I immediately felt small and insignificant. Crystal bowls of gold-wrapped chocolates that cost more than my monthly rent payments were scattered here and there and a
bottle of extremely expensive red wine sat on a glass table in the middle of the room. Four empty wine glasses sat, ready and waiting, for some thirsty souls to indulge in the blood-red beverage. The black leather couches situated behind the table faced a large floor-to-ceiling window offering a gorgeous nighttime view of the city. I let my eyes widen at the opulent décor and the tiny, pricy knick-knacks here and there. This must have been the most exquisite suite ever put together by the staff at the Triton, but one look at its guests made the reasoning behind such careful preparations clear.

Frederick shed his dark coat immediately and hung it by the door, working the kinks from his shoulders by rolling them back and forth. I was captivated by the simple motion, wondering what it would feel like to run my hands over those taut muscles and ease the knots from them myself. My gaze floated over to Sebastian, who was headed straight for the wine, taking up the bottle and uncorking it gracefully.
I stepped cautiously further into the suite and took a seat on the longest sofa, watching with rapt attention as Sebastian’s long, thin fingers handled the bottle, carefully pouring equal amounts of the dark liquid into three glasses. Frederick seated himself beside me and handed me a glass. I nodded in appreciation and tasted the surprisingly sweet wine, enjoying the feeling as it slid smoothly down my throat.

“Do you like it? It’s my favorite.” Frederick said,
an eagerness in his voice not unlike that of a young child who yearns for approval concerning his favorite toy.

“It’s wonderful.” I said sincerely as Frederick and Sebastian took simultaneous sips. I let my eyes wander back to the view of the city and sighed softly.

“Is something wrong, Delilah?” This time it was Sebastian’s voice coaxing me from my reverie. I met his cerulean eyes with a smile.

“Oh no, everything is incredible. The suite, the wine…” I swirled my wine in the glass and took another, longer drink.
“You two. I really can’t believe you guys are real.”

Sebastian gave a light chuckle and finished off his glass.

“Maybe we are just figments of your imagination.” Frederick joked, and I gave him a playful slap on the arm. I sure hoped not.

As soon as I’d finished my first glass, Sebastian was ready to pour another, but paused and awaited my approval first.

“I don’t want you to think we have any ulterior motives.” He offered, holding the bottle back until I nodded at him to go ahead.

“Like I’d say no.”
I almost snorted. My very unladylike and rash statement reached my ears at about the time I realized what I’d just let slip. Frederick had a deliciously wicked gleam in his eyes and Sebastian merely sipped his wine poignantly.

“N-Not to say that I just go around offering myself to guys left and right.”
I stumbled over my words. Frederick scooted closer to me, letting his second glass of wine rest on the table before us. “And that’s not the say I’m offering myself right now…because I’m not.”

I tried to sound firm, but Frederick’s quiet laugh undid me. I gulped and felt a fire start in my belly, traveling to my folds in a blaze of lust and pleasure.
Frederick reached out and captured a stray curl that had slipped from the diamond pin, twirling it lightly around one finger.

“We know what kind of woman you are, Delilah.” He
said, voice soft and pleasant. “You’re intelligent and you’re strong. You wouldn’t put yourself in an uncomfortable situation. You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to be.”

I opened my mouth to respond, but Sebastian rose, capturing my attention. He placed his glass on the table and walked over, taking my own from my limp hand. Frederick took the now-free hand and brought it to his face, running my palm against his light stubble. He ran his lips achingly slow across my skin, pressing light kisses to my palm. Before I could stop it, the only thought on my mind slipped through my ruby lips.

“Why me?”

Frederick smiled against my palm and let Sebastian answer.

“You mean why not one of the other women downstairs? A woman with a size zero dress and manmade breasts?” Sebastian cracked a smile and fixed me with a burning stare.

“You’re beautiful, Delilah. You’re agonizingly desirable.” He said as Frederick’s kisses traveled up my arm. “Do you not see yourself in such a way?”

I swallowed, my desire overtaking my mind, my mouth. I was unable to speak, even if I would have had something desperately important to say.

“You’re
real
, Delilah.” He continued. “Your curves, your contours. They’re deliciously real. How could I—how could
we
—resist?”

“And you were delivered right to us,” Frederick whispered close to my face, his breath warm and sweet as it fanned across my neck. “like the most pleasant and surprising gift.”

Frederick captured my lips at once in a heated, passionate kiss. His tongue swept across my bottom lip, requesting entrance. I obliged, opening to him and letting him wind his hand into my hair, pulling me closer to his body. When he finally pulled away from my kiss-bruised lips, he was smiling again and rose, pulling me with him. Sebastian opened a set of French doors that lead to a master bedroom with an impressively large, plush bed decked out in warm brown colors.

Frederick brought me to the edge of the bed before I felt his large hand grasp my gown’s zipper, pulling languidly downward as if he was unwrapping a
fragile present. My red dress pooled around my feet in heaps and though I was nearly completely exposed to these two handsome men, I felt confident and relaxed. They thought I was as beautiful as I’d felt in that gown, and the realization spurred me on as I climbed onto the bed and dragged Frederick with me. Sebastian closed the doors and began to unbutton his crisp, white dress shirt. A silent thrill ran through me as I realized I was about to have not one sexy prince, but two at the same time.
