Drew laughed. “Because Quinn is going to have the wedding of my dreams.
And because you want to see her dressed up in Grandma’s wedding dress.”
Grandda put his hands over his to still him. Drew looked up into his face.
There was sadness there and Drew was suddenly sorry for it.
“Grandda, I didn’t mean—”
“She would have loved your Quinny.
Loved her smart mouth and the way she keeps you in line.
Couldn’t have picked a better girl for you even if I’d tried.
Nope, you don’t look at this old man like I’m sad. I couldn’t be happier. But I miss my Adie.
Miss her more and more as the years go on.”
Drew hugged his grandda tight.
The man was his best friend in the entire world and he was lucky to have him.
When Drew felt a hand on his back he knew without looking it was his dad.
His comforting hand could do wonders to him.
“If the love fest is about over, you think maybe we can get this show on the road? I got a wife I want to molest,” Cain said with a slap on the older man’s back.
“Young man, there are more things in life than sex, you know?” Grandda said as he walked toward the door.
“Yeah, I know that. But I doubt there is anything quite as enjoyable.
Especially when you have a beautiful wife like I do.”
Cain laughed when Grandda huffed.
As the other men walked out the door Drew’s dad and grandda stayed a little behind.
He smiled at them when they looked so serious.
He knew this was coming, had known for three days.
“Your mother wants to know if you need anything…advice.” His dad flushed.
“I mean on…shit, this is stupid. Your wife is pregnant. I’m pretty sure he knows what he’s about.”
Grandda laughed. “Yes, but we needed to see you get all embarrassed, son. It’s what I live for.
I put her up to it and Rose loves me a good deal more than you.
I hear you pissed her off something fierce this morning.”
Drew looked at his dad.
“You ticked off Mom? What did you do?”
His dad flushed harder. “Or do I want to know?”
“No, you don’t.
Now I agree with Cain, it’s time to get moving.” His dad stalked to the door before he stopped and looked back. “Stay out of this, Dad, I mean it.
You tell him and I’ll make your life a living hell for a week.”
As he went out the door Drew turned to his grandda.
“I haven’t a clue what he did. I only hinted to him that she’d told me.
But it is funny to see him all flustered like that, huh?”
Drew threw his arm around his grandda and laughed. He loved this old man and would never forget him.
As they made their way to the vestibule Drew turned to him. “I love you. I’m so glad you agreed to stand up with me.
I want to give you your wedding gift now. Quinn said you’d like it.”
He reached into his pocket, pulled out a sheet of paper, and handed it to him.
“Dane Grant came by a couple of day ago and told us. We wanted you to be the first to know.”
He looked confused and handed it back to Drew.
“I don’t know what this is.”
Drew looked at the note and smiled.
It said 1g-2b.
“It’s the baby. Well, babies. One girl and two boys. We’re having triples.
The girl will be Abida Rose Miller and the boys will be Thomas Andrew Miller the sixth and James Allen Mil—”
He was being hugged so tightly he was sure he’d have to have Cain check him out for broken ribs.
“Babies. I’m going to be a first time great grandda three times.
Three of them.
And Abida?
You’re going to name your daughter Abida.
Oh Drew.” This hug was just a powerful, but Drew had been prepared.
His dad came back and cleared his throat. “It’s time, son. Let’s go and get me a daughter.”
The bridesmaids were all dressed in summer colors.
They were her sisters, all but Sydney.
But Drew barely registered them; he was waiting on his bride.
When the music sounded to announce her coming he looked up and saw Cain first. The man simply made a tux look good.
But once Drew saw Quinn, his Quinn, nothing else mattered.
His grandma’s dress fit just like his grandda had said it would.
The ivory taffeta gown had no straps, but the full bodice held her up and kept her fuller figure from spilling out. The wide skirt didn’t hide her swollen belly, but seemed to announce it to everyone who saw her that she was pregnant.
The beaded work and the fine lace looked so feminine on her that he wanted to drop to his knees and beg her to love him for all time.
The veil, a long trail of lace, covered her face from her head to the bottom of her chin.
Drew wanted to peel it away and taste her again.
Drew grinned when he thought about the things she had on under the dress…or what she didn’t have on, and his cock twitched.
Looking at her now he could see her slight blush and knew she was thinking the same thing.
Drew couldn’t wait to get her alone.
When she came to the front to stand before him
,
and before the minister could ask who gave this woman, his grandda moved up behind him and said his name.
He only had to look to see that the man needed Quinn, and needed a hug.
Drew nodded once and moved to the side as his grandda moved in front of Quinn and pulled her into his arms.
The entire church could hear him crying and talking to her. Quinn held him to her and cried right along with him. Drew was wiping a tear from his own eyes when he looked out at the friends and family that had come to see them married. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. When Drew’s parents got up and embraced Quinn and Grandda, Drew’s father pulled him close and included him.
When they seemed to have things under control his grandda turned to the congregation and smiled.
“I want to say I’m not the least bit sorry for this. A man goes his entire life hoping for…hoping that his children will find love and happiness. Then when he gets blessed like I have been, he begins to hope for the same for his grandchildren.
Today I welcome my newest addition to my family. Quinn Susan Waite Miller.
And I have to tell you…it just doesn’t get any better than this.”
With a final kiss to his daughter-in-law and his soon to be granddaughter his grandda moves back to Drew’s right.
“Well, let’s get this party started, shall we?”
Drew burst out laughing and with both their families standing next to them, Quinn Susan Waite became Quinn Miller.
