She shook her head, with a sultry smile on her face. “No way, kid. I’m not fake girlfriend material.” I was digging this side of Harlow. She was much more relaxed and flirty when she wasn’t on a plane.

“Why not?” She was smokin’ hot. I wanted inside that body of hers, I wanted her panting and moaning underneath me. I wanted my hands on her perky breasts as she rode my dick.

“Because I don’t want to be.” She shrugged. “And because I don’t fake it. Ever.”

I chuckled. “What does that mean?” Please let it mean what I think it means, please let her be talking about sex. Once a woman felt comfortable enough to
talk
about sex with you, she was well on her way to feeling comfortable enough to actually
have
sex with you. Search your memory banks, you’ll find I’m right as rain.

She put her gin and tonic to her mouth, laughing lightly. “You don’t do your job, I don’t give you fake props. I’m screaming? It’s because you earned it.”

Bingo.
The waitress walked over with our bottles and our tiny glasses. She sat everything in front of us and then left again. I opened both and poured out our shots. “To not faking?”

She nodded. “To not faking.”

“Harlow. I think you’re my favorite person in Nashville.”

“I’m your only person in Nashville. And flattery won’t get you anywhere with me, kid.” Her eyes softened. “My friends call me Lo.” And just like that, we became friends.

Now, Scotch is something meant to be savored. It’s to be sipped and enjoyed at a leisurely pace, not taken in a shot glass like a wasted frat boy. But after about five shots in, it was apparent that tonight I didn’t give a shit. Sitting outside by the pool next to Harlow was the most fun I’d had in ages. She was hilarious and spunky and sexy and I just couldn’t seem to get enough. The firelight dancing across her face was mesmerizing. I couldn’t stop staring at her. “You look like you’re eighteen. I can’t even believe they are letting you drink out here.”

She took another shot of gin. “I’m twenty-four. And you know what? I don’t care that I got carded going to see
Neighbors Two
because—”

“Wait. Wait, wait, wait. You got carded at the movie theater?” I couldn’t help but double over in laughter.

She reached over and put her hand over my mouth. “When I’m forty, I’m going to look fucking amazing.”

I nibbled at the palm of her hand, causing her to remove it. “You look fucking amazing now, Pixie.” It wasn’t the Scotch talking—well, it wasn’t
only
the Scotch talking. I’d thought she was beautiful from the moment I laid eyes on her. And better than that, she was distracting as fuck. How many times a day did that word go through my brain? How many times an hour did I search for one? Distraction. Sooner or later I was going to have to stop running from my thoughts. But when I was with Lo, all my problems seemed to fade into the background. Although, to be fair, that was probably a little of the Scotch as well. Plus, gin made Harlow flirty as hell. Like Lexi with Fireball. Every chick had a key, something else I’d learned as of late.

Our waitress came over and handed me my card back. “The bar is closing, you two.” She caught my eye as she walked away. I knew that look. And normally, I’d be all over it. But I wasn’t ready to say goodnight to my new friend yet. I signed our tab and left a generous tip.

Harlow stood and tucked her half empty bottle of gin under her arm. “Well, Luke, it’s been fun.”

When she turned to leave, I reached out and grasped her wrist. “Where are you going?”

She motioned inside. “To the safety of my room. You are bad news, kid.”

She was right. This had bad decision written all over it. But I didn’t care. If I went back to my room, alone, I’d sit and think about tomorrow. And thinking about tomorrow would send me into another panic attack. “Come hang out with me in my room. The night’s still young.” “The night’s still young”? Who says that? Damn Scotch.

Harlow pointed at the bar. “Take the waitress up to your room, she looked like she’d be down.”

I wrinkled my nose. “I don’t want to bang the waitress. I want to keep hanging out with you.” It was the truth. But if Lo kept turning me down, I’d take the waitress. I couldn’t be alone tonight.

She scoffed. “What, you want to Netflix and chill?”

I got to my feet and grabbed my bottle in one hand and her hip in my other. “What if I do?” I stepped closer, invading her space.

She studied me, her head tilted to the side. She had a smile on her face the whole time she was considering my proposal. Lo kept her emotions on lockdown; I couldn’t tell what she was thinking until she finally spoke. “Just one night?”

I nodded. “Just one night.” One night at a time seemed like all I was capable of as of late. I couldn’t ever offer any more than that; my heart wasn’t mine to release.

She motioned to the door. “Let’s go.”

Neither one of us said a word as we walked side by side through the lobby. We were still and quiet as we waited for the elevator. We stepped inside at a normal pace. But once those doors shut? All hell broke loose. I backed her into a corner with my body, threading my hand into her long blonde hair and fusing my mouth to hers. I pressed against her, as close as I could. My hips grinding into her on their own accord. “You taste so fucking good.”

She tilted her head back, exposing her throat. “This is such a bad idea.”

I ran my nose up the column of her neck. “Tell me to stop and I will, baby.”

She hiked her leg up my thigh, arching her hips into mine. “Don’t you dare stop.”

“Good girl.” I gripped her ass, my mouth found hers again, and I deepened the kiss.

“Excuse me. Is this your floor?”

We both stilled and turned our heads toward the door where an elderly couple was standing, smiling. Harlow put both feet on the ground and I took a small step back. “Yes it is. Thank you.” I grabbed her hand and led her out of the elevator.

The old man winked at me when we walked by. I’m not sure how I made it all the way down the hall and to my room without mauling her again. I opened the door and held it wide so she could enter first. “Did you eat dinner? I doubt the kitchen is still open but I could try to find someone to deliver to the lobby.”

She sat her bottle of gin down on the desk then turned toward me. “You got me up here, and now all you want to do is eat?”

I stalked toward her. “What can I say? I’ve got a big appetite.”

She raised an eyebrow and started to back up. “Oh yeah?”

I nodded and kept advancing until I had her up against a wall, right where I wanted her.

“And what if I don’t want to feed you?” There was no fear in her eyes, only humor. Maybe a little curiosity.

We stared at each other, neither of us moving or talking. I knew she was just asking to ask, just making sure I was a good guy. I’d never force myself on a woman. I’d never pressure anyone to do something they didn’t want to do. “Tell me no, and we’ll watch a movie. There is no pressure here.”

“If I was going to tell you no, I wouldn’t have come up here. And we both know it, Luke.”

I liked the way she said my name. I wanted to hear her scream it. I braced both my hands above her head against the wall and dipped my mouth down to taste her. I started off slow and gentle, not touching her anywhere but her mouth. We’d both had a lot to drink. I needed her to make this decision for herself. In no way did I want her to feel uncomfortable. It only took about thirty seconds for her to reach out and grab my shirt, pulling my hips against hers. She moaned against my lips; she was getting impatient and I freaking loved it. “You sure?”

Three things happened at once; she nodded with her forehead against mine, she put her arms around my neck, and her legs around my waist. Then, I spun to the side, depositing her on top of the cherry wood desk. I took off her tiny shirt and she took off mine. We fumbled with each other’s buttons. Clothes were flying as fast as we could manage. I was pretty sure I’d wanted inside this woman from the first moment I’d laid eyes on her. Every second after that just confirmed that I had to have her crazy beautiful ass. Just once. When we were both down to our underwear, I put my hands under her thighs and carried her to the bed. I tossed her up toward the pillows, making her giggle. “Such a sexy fairy.”

She smirked. “Buzzed and horny fairy is more like it.”

Harlow didn’t try to cover up, she lay there against the pillows, her blonde hair spilling everywhere. I stood at the foot of the bed, just staring. She shook her head and got on her knees, then crawled toward me. That image was like a fantasy come to life. She sat on the edge of the bed, her legs on either side of me.

“What are you doing, Lo?”

She took the band of my underwear and slid them down my body. “Moving this little activity along.”

My cock sprang free and her eyes went wide at the size. I was hung. I didn’t flaunt it like Jacks or Smith, but I was. She simply raised one eyebrow and gave me a little smirk before she wrapped her hand around my shaft, then stroked down slowly.

I let my head fall back. “What if I wanted to take my time?”

She ran her nails down my chest. “Take your time during round two.”

“Does that mean I get you all night?” I looked down, watching her hand work my dick. Goosebumps broke out on my thighs.

She gave a small shrug. “If you’re good you do.”

When Lo wasn’t nervous, fearing death, or angry, she was a fucking blast. “I’m a rock star, Pixie. I’ve been told we fuck like it’s our job.”

She nipped my hipbone. “Prove it.”

I gave her a wicked rock star smile.

“Wait.” She held her hand up, making my smile fall. “I know this sounds super lame and practiced, but before we actually go through with this…I just need you to know I’m not this girl, okay? I know I sound all flirty and fun. But I don’t do things like this. I have a good time, I go out, I drink, I dance. But I’ve never gone home with a stranger. And I have never fucked a dude in a ‘band,’ you know?”

I snorted. “Lo. Calm down. Don’t go all rambley and spastic on me. I’m into you, you’re into me. It doesn’t have to be any more than that. And you’re pretty much my favorite person on the planet right now. So no worries about my opinion of you, yeah?”

She nodded, having said her piece. We were both adults, both relatively sober, both extremely consenting. So why did this girl feel the need to tell me she wasn’t a bad person? Why would I ever assume she was just because she was acting on something that men acted on night after night with no repercussions? Society, man. Society was a bitch.

I grabbed her rib cage and easily pitched her back up the bed, then covered her body with mine. She opened her legs for me, all thoughts apparently leaving her head. I ground against her core and when she whimpered I whispered in her ear, “You like that, baby?” I put my hand on her knee and pushed it toward her stomach; I needed more room to work. “Stay just like that.” I kissed my way down her chest, stopping for a minute to suck and bite on her nipples.

Her hands were in my hair, pushing me down farther. I lifted my head, smirking at her. “You’re an impatient little thing, aren’t you?”

She tightened her fist in my hair. “You started it.”

I chuckled and ran my nose down her stomach. “I’m going to finish it too, baby. Don’t worry.” I put my mouth against her; she was so wet I could taste her through her panties. I wanted more so I hooked my finger in the elastic and moved them to the side. I placed my mouth on her clit and she let out a little moan. I worked her with my mouth until her hands in my hair were bordering on painful and she was writhing underneath me. When she started to pant, I slid two fingers inside her, stretching her body. “So fucking good, baby.”

“Please don’t stop, Luke.” My name on her lips made my dick feel like it was going to burst. I moved my mouth and my fingers in a perfect rhythm, amping her up as high as I could get her. “Fuck. Luke. Please.”

Oh yeah, there was no way I was letting Lo leave my bed. Not until the damn sun came up. I was so turned on, I felt like my whole body was vibrating. I curled my fingers toward her stomach and she screamed out my name, arching her back off the bed as she came violently on my tongue and my hand. I waited for her to come back down and then I made my way up her sweating body. I put my mouth next to her ear. “Get on your knees, Pixie.”

She opened her eyes, her face still flush from her orgasm. “What?”

I dipped down and took her taut nipple in between my teeth. “You had what you wanted, and now it’s my turn. On. Your. Knees.” I knew what I wanted to do to her. I’d had the image in my head since I’d dry humped her in the elevator. But I didn’t want to scare her off. I put my palm on her stomach and moved it against her body, and between her legs. She was still soaked; my words were turning her on, whether she knew it or not. I chuckled. “Get on all fours right now, or I’ll put you there myself, baby.”

Her smile was mischievous; she liked this game as much as I did. She turned over on her stomach and got on her hands and knees. “What now, Luke?”

I quickly grabbed a condom from my carry-on (call me a boy scout, because I was always prepared) and put it on while I climbed on the bed behind her. I rubbed the head of my dick against her, letting her get used to the feel. “You ready for—”

All of a sudden the room erupted in a blaring noise. “Holy hell, what is that sound?” It was so shrill and so loud I dropped my dick and put my hands over my ears.

“I think it’s the fire alarm.” Harlow went to get up and I uncovered one ear to put my hand on her back. “It’s fine, it’s probably just a drill.”

She turned and looked back at me like I was an idiot. “Why would they have a fire drill at a
hotel
?” I hung my head. I wanted to actually cry. Like real big tears. I was so horny I couldn’t even think straight. Harlow climbed off the bed and ran to the closet, wrapping herself in a robe and then tossing one at me. I covered up and grabbed both bottles of liquor on our way out of the room. “Come on, I’m sure it’s just a precaution. We’ll probably get halfway down stairs and then they’ll turn it off.”
