“Satin, I said,” Roland started a slow grind with his pelvis pushed flushed against Satins ass, “tell me what you see.”

Satin allowed herself to enjoy that moment of pleasure before responding. His thickness was a comfortable fit. Filling but not intrusive. Satin looked back over her shoulder at Roland and smiled her answer to him.

“What do I see?” Roland knew instantly that she had figured it out. And now he could feel his own excitement beginning to build. Satin concluded; “I see one hundred million dollars.”

Chapter 5:

Choices”

Derrick watched the sunset from the balcony of Satin’s penthouse suite. He poured himself his fifth glass of wine and stared silently at the engagement ring that he had bought for her. From the moment he picked the ring up from the jeweler his day had done nothing but steadily go downhill. Everything that he had planned and arranged for the day had been ruined. Was this suppose to be some kind of sign from above warning him that he was moving too fast or that Satin was not the woman for him? If so, he wasn’t having any of it. There were two words that best described Derrick Billings; “DETERMINED AND DRIVEN.” The word “NO,” simply was not in his vocabulary. And he has made a professional career out of successfully negotiating thousands of deals to substantiate and validate that fact in his own mind.

He checked his watch. It was almost 6 p.m. and Satin still had not emerged from Roland’s office. She had gone in there just before 10 a.m. and there had been no more movement from behind those doors since. No break for lunch. No phone call or text from Satin advising him of what was going on. This day had been planned by them both the night before. And it was extremely outside of her character to purposely not make contact. Whether to reschedule or just to inform him that something had come up. No, this was something else. Something big was on the horizon. Something seriously huge. And whatever it was, clearly Roland has Satin either spearheading the job or has appointed her a major role in whatever is going on. This is of course Roland Pique we are talking about. This man has always been 5 moves ahead of everyone else in the business. No, there was a logical explanation for whatever is going on. Derrick would not entertain any more pessimistic views. He would wait for Satin. And she will fill him in on whatever is really going on when she returned. Derrick took one final glimpse at the engagement ring and smiled.

“The day isn’t over just yet.”

Roland had taken Satin up to his penthouse via his private service elevator, which sat on the very roof of Pique Towers. Roland’s Penthouse was basically a two story home that was built on the roof of Pique towers. Complete with an Olympic size swimming pool, sun deck, outside kitchen with a separate grilling area and a green house. The home itself boasted over 15,000 square feet of living space made out of the most beautiful industrial grade glass that Satin had ever seen. Every one of the outside perimeter walls was made of glass, so you had a 360 degree panoramic view of Miami in all of its glory. From the Atlantic Ocean to the city and beyond. It was simply breathtaking. Satin was drying herself off from showering and trying to mentally prepare herself for a serious conversation with Derrick. This was not going to be easy. But she was confident that there was a way for her to pull off this Coup, solidifying her new found alliance with Roland, earning her a one hundred million dollar commission, and still be able to keep her relationship with Derrick. Regardless of how outside of her character all of this was, she knew that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. And with one hundred million dollars at her disposal, instead of making millions in investment maneuvers for her clients, she could now make those investments for herself. That money makes her a major player. And with an ally like Roland Pique to rely on, she could well be on the fast track to becoming the next black female billionaire. There is a lot of good that she could do with this money. And she was going to capitalize on it by any means necessary.

Roland was outside on the deck by the pool, lounging in his beach chair sipping on a chardonnay, watching as the sun slowly sank down beneath the beauty of the ocean. When she saw him sitting there she couldn’t help but to wonder what he was contemplating. She had learned things about Roland Pique today that she never could have imagined in a million years. Even so, she knew that it wasn’t even the tip of the iceberg. Roland was very intelligent and calculating. Everything that he says or does is actually a precursor to something else. Even when it appears he’s doing nothing, he has something more going on. This was a man with an agenda. But what that agenda actually was, Satin couldn’t even begin to guess. Still, Satin was pleasantly  surprised at how easy she felt in his presence. How easy he had made it for her. 24 hours ago, if someone had suggested to her that she could find herself in this exact same scenario, she would have felt insulted, offended, angry and ready to take legal action. She smiled to herself;

“Look at me now.”

Oddly enough, she felt no shame in it whatsoever. She was resolved to see this through to the end and to come out on top.

Roland heard Satins stilettos clicking as she approached him by the pool.

“Leaving already?” He asked.

“Yes, I have a lot to prepare for. I can have all of this wrapped up by the end of this weekend. You can expect to have everything signed and on your desk by Monday morning.”

She was back to her professional demeanor. Roland liked that. She was keeping this strictly business. Most didn’t know how to divorce their emotions from their sexual feelings. Satin was a rare find indeed. Roland got up and escorted Satin back to his service elevator, instead of the main elevator at his front door.

“Take the service elevator back down and go back through my office. Don’t worry about locking anything up, Gwen will take care of that.”

Roland punched in his private code and the doors opened.

“I’m glad that you chose to work with me on this Satin. And I hope that when this is all over and you start your own business, that you and I will still have business of our own that we can still pursue, together.”

Satin looked directly into Roland’s eyes;

“I’m sure that this won’t be the last collaboration that we have Roland. I am finding that this kind of business is mutually beneficial to everyone involved. Everyone comes out a winner. Hundreds of millions of dollars to be earned and every sexual desire to be fulfilled. Honestly, I’m not seeing a down side here at all.”

Roland genuinely smiled.

“Excellent. Keep me abreast of your progress. And stay focused Satin. We cannot afford to drop the ball on this.”

Satin stepped into the elevator.

“Don’t worry Mr. Pique. I’m bringing my “A-Game.” It’s the only way I know how to play.”

The elevator doors shut. And just like that, she was gone. Roland went back to his bedroom and sat on the side of his bed and reached for the remote control. After entering a code, the wall in front of his bed slid to the side, revealing 15 flat screen monitors. Roland played with the controls some more and was suddenly watching himself and Satin having the most incredible sex of his life.

“This one is different. I’ve never experienced anything like her before.”

Roland sat quietly as he watched her performance in awe and admiration. Is it possible that he had finally met his match? “Doubtful.” He mumbled. Trying to shrug off his amazement.

The images on the screen had begun to stir something within him. A small smile began to form on his face, betraying his true feelings. And the beginnings of an erection were making him have to shift positions in his seat. He would see to it that this would not be the last of their dealings. One way or the other, Satin would be his.

Satin made it back to her penthouse ready to immediately start working on her strategy to get what she needed from Natsu Yakamura. She wasn’t counting on Derrick being there.

“Satin, thank God. Ten more minutes and I was going to call 911 and file a missing persons report.”

Derrick tried to smile as his joke had clearly failed miserably. Satin paused to catch her breath and then for the first time in over the ten years that she had known Derrick, she proceeded to tell him a lie.

“I am so sorry Derrick. A lot has happened. Mr. Pique has given me a project to spearhead and it’s for a multi-billion dollar deal. We just spent the entire day going over the details and I am more than just a little overwhelmed. I have a lot to do in an unspeakably short amount of time. Honestly, I’m not even sure that I can pull it off, but I wasn’t about to tell Mr. Pique that.”

Derrick listened with a concerned heart, but was vaguely aware that for the first time since he’d known Satin, she was speaking without looking him in the eye.

“Don’t let it stress you out Babe. I’ll help you however I can. I’m sure that between the two of us, there is nothing that we can’t figure out together.”

Satin’s heart was warmed. This was so like Derrick. Always eager to throw himself under the bus on her behalf.

“Thank you honey, but Mr. Pique has some very specific instructions concerning this account. And I’m not at liberty to share what’s going on with anyone. That includes you.”

Derrick was taken aback.

“What does that mean? This isn’t some top secret government agency, Satin. It’s an investment bank. And you’re not a spy with the C.I.A., you are my woman. So since when don’t we trust each other? We’ve been best friends and taking up each other’s slack for over ten years. Why would this be any different?”

Wow, Derrick was visibly upset. Satin was a little stunned at his counter. Then she remembered that she had stood him up today. They were suppose to clear their calendars and spend the entire day together. Derrick had told her that he had the entire day planned. That he was going to make it a day that she would never forget. But once she left to go see Roland, she never got back in touch with Derrick. Not even a courtesy call to cancel. Nothing. She had just left him hanging. That is what he must be angry about.

“Derrick, I’m sorry. I know that we were supposed to do something special today, but this business with Mr. Pique was unexpected. I had no idea that an opportunity like this would fall into my lap. And now that it has, I have to do everything within my power to see to its success.”

Derrick had his hand in his pocket. He was squeezing the engagement ring between his fingers. Tracing the curve of the symbolic circle over and over again. This is the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Why is she suddenly speaking to him like he was nothing more than just a co-worker?

“Satin, what does any of that have to do with what I just asked you? I asked you; Since when do we NOT trust each other? We have been best friends for over ten years. And we have been helping each other with work and everything else for all of that time. Why would this be any different?”

Derrick was staring Satin directly in the eye. He wanted to drive home the seriousness of his point. And for the first time in her life, Satin did not have an answer that she knew would be acceptable. She was stumped. Something she never dreamed she would ever experience. And she didn’t like it one bit. It made her feel like she had no control. And Satin was the queen of control.

“Derrick, I don’t have to explain myself to you. I told you that I can’t talk to you about this and that needs to be the end of it. I’m sorry that this messed up our day together, but we can just reschedule whatever you had planned for another time. This is important to me. Without question it is the most important account I’ve ever had. And if I pull this off I’ll be set to retire from this place and start my own investment firm in less than a month!”

Derrick was miffed. Satin was trying to stress that this could be the most important event of her life. Now Derrick wondered how that would stand in comparison to him pulling out a ten thousand dollar engagement ring and asking her to marry him. At the end of the day, he decided that both were too important to allow one to overshadow the other. Still, he was disappointed in how she was choosing to handle this issue and him.

“Fair enough Satin. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you. I’ll let you do whatever it is you have to do.”

And with that, Derrick strolled out of her front door.

Roland watched casually as the events at Satin’s place unfolded. He smiled to himself as Derrick left closing the door behind him. Clearly, Satin is committed to getting the job done. And with any luck, that will be enough to get rid of Derrick Billings once and for all. If not, Roland was prepared to take matters into his own hands.

Derrick had taken the elevator down to the lobby and had gone into the buildings dining facilities. He had already made reservations for himself and Satin, it just didn’t make sense to let it go to waste. He was escorted to his table where the meal had already been prepared along with two bottles of their favorite wine. Derrick sat down and stared at the wine glasses.
