She drew him into her mouth, and he sighed through clenched teeth. She tasted his musk and his spicy salt. Opening wider, she took him deeper. He pressed up, and she accommodated as much of him as she could. With her mouth and hand, she stroked his length. His body moved with her pace, under her control. His pleasure drove her desire higher. She rubbed the heel of her free hand across one of her nipples, and the bright sensation spread across her skin.

Their pace sped. He thrust farther into her mouth. She could lead him over the edge, but her own needs still raged. She moved her lips from him and looked into his focused face. “I have a condom in my purse.”

“Just one?” he rasped.

“A box,” she admitted.

He smiled like he was ready to devour her. “I have a box in my coat.”

Any trepidation was forgotten in the tingling rush that swept up her legs, across her back and over her chest. She was ready to be devoured. “Get one.”

He sprang from the chair and returned while rolling the condom on. She stood and placed her hands on his shoulders to urge him sitting again. He held her waist and moved her closer. She straddled him with her knees on the seat of the chair. The head of his cock slid along her pussy. She was still wet. More wet. Their eyes locked. They breathed together. She lowered herself onto him.

She sighed, and he growled. Swiveling her hips sank him in. He filled her and their connection spread sweet fire throughout her body. She gripped his shoulders. One of his hands curled around her waist, the other slid up to palm her breast. She ground together with Ben, absorbing the intoxicating sensations. She raised and lowered on his shaft and watched his face grow more intense.

Their speed increased. She leaned into his chest. He enfolded her with his arms. This was what she needed. Complete. Enveloping. Ben surged forward. She thought he might be coming, but instead he stood and carried her with him. He was still inside her as he walked them to the bed. Feeling him move her like that, balanced on his strength, almost had her coming again. She lay back on the mattress and hooked her heels behind his legs.

His thrusts moved her. She burned so bright with pleasure she had to close her eyes. Another climax edged closer. He gripped her thigh to his waist. His other hand spread over her belly and his thumb stroked down over her clit.

“Ah, yes,” she told him. But she knew he already understood. “Yes.” She punctuated the movement of his cock into her. “Yes. Yes. Yes.” Faster. A rush of blood and barely enough breath. Harder. She drew him as far in as she could with her legs and let the orgasm take her.

“Yes, Mary.” He didn’t stop and pushed her to white hot. His urgency grew. Muscles tightened. He leaned down and pressed close, coiled his arms around her. The two of them welded together in their heat. A final thrust plunged him inside, and he came.

His body shuddered. The sparks of her own climax still bounced within her. Time slowed again. She basked in each moment. She slicked her hands over the sweat on his back and tasted the salt on his shoulder. Their breath rushed. Her heart pounded, then eased to a normal pace.

Ben rolled them to the sides and separated enough to look into her face. “Such a beautiful woman.” He stroked down her cheek.

Emotion welled in her. She believed him. “Woman?”

He nodded. “Anything you want to be.”

“I want...” She searched. She pushed away the fear of the unknown and ventured past the solitary and distant life she’d been living for too long. “To be here...with you.”

“You are now.” He kissed her. “And I’m going to hold on to you until you tell me to stop.”

They both half leaned on the bed, and she shifted to get more fully on the mattress. Ben helped her onto the bed, then disappeared into the bathroom for a second. He returned without the condom on and slid up next to her. She reached down and dragged the cool sheets up over them.

“I haven’t slept naked in a long time.” Her purse and pistol were on her side of the bed.

His automatic was on the floor at the foot of the bed. He laughed small and thoughtful. “I can’t remember the last time.” He pulled her close.

She rested her head on his shoulder and spread her hand over his chest so she could feel his steady heartbeat. They’d fought wars together. They’d survived and would be called on to do so again. But that clock wasn’t ticking just now.

“Tomorrow?” she asked.

Ben whispered a promise, “Tomorrow it’s us.”
