Olivia just laughed. “You find something funny with the fact that you had another woman beaten and raped? Then you laugh because your son was kidnapped? Had somebody’s house shot up? Bitch, my son was in that fucking house when you did that shit!” I was ready to kill both those bitches.
“Oh silly you, MJ wasn’t kidnapped. I had him the whole time. You must be crazy as hell to think that I would hurt my own child. I just wanted to keep him away from this bitch. As for that bastard y’all share together, I don’t give a fuck about him. You had my baby taken away from me when he was only six months old! Then you get with her ass and have her raising my son.
My son,
Mykell.”
“This bitch, as you call her was the one that took in your son, loved him, cared for him, spent time with him, raised him when yo trifling ass couldn’t. He knows her as his mom, not you bitch,” I had to set her ass straight.
“So it’s my fault Mykell?”
“Who else’s fault was it?”
“It was yours! I had yo fucking child but you acted like I ain’t mean shit to you. Then you had yo dad come and take him from me.”
“Yeah, because yo ass chose drugs and niggas over yo son. Don’t fucking act like you care about him now,” I yelled, getting pissed at that dumb ass bitch.
“Man, fuck all this shit. I have two sons that are waiting for their mommy to come get them. So if we could just hurry up with this bullshit,” Neicey said ready to put a bullet in Olivia.
“I have one question Olivia, how the hell did y’all link up?”
She chuckled and shook her head. “You know it’s funny that I always knew who Kya was, but she never knew who I was. All I did was approach her one day acting like I liked her shoes. I wanted to know if you two were still together. She informed that you had a new bitch in the picture and how she wanted her ass gone. I acted like I had a personal vendetta against Neicey too just to see how serious she was about having her gone. She mentioned she had a cousin that lived in Cali that kills people for a living and I just knew I hit the jackpot. The plan was to get rid of this bitch then eventually get rid of Kya so we could be a family like we’re supposed to be.”
Neicey laughed. “Mykell you sure do like them psycho, deranged ass bitches don’t you?”
“Bitch nobody asked you shit,” she yelled at Neicey. She then turned and smiled at me devilishly. “Kamil, off him,” she ordered, and then she turned to Neicey.
Everything happened so fast that I didn’t have time to react. I heard Neicey scream, “No,” then I heard gunshots. After that, everything turned black.
I can see the light, I reached out to try and grab it. “Baby you don’t want to do that.”
“Mama?”
“Yes, baby. I wouldn’t go to it if I were you, I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
She still looked as beautiful as the last time I saw her. She was carrying a baby in her arms but it was wrapped up.
“Who is that Mama? And why can’t I go to the light?”
“This is your son…”
“My son?”
“Yes, I’m watching over the baby you and Reneice lost. But to answer your question, you can’t go to the light because you have a family that would miss you. You have to finish watching over MJ and Romell. What would they do without their daddy?” she smiled sweetly.
“No Mama, I wanna stay here with you and my son. You left me when I was a little boy. You never got to see me grow up.”
“Oh baby, I’ve been up here watching over you, Micah, Le’Lani, and your dad the whole time. I’m proud of you guys. But I can’t allow you to stay here with us.”
“But I don’t want to be down there anymore. I want to stay here with you guys,” I pleaded.
“Now, Mykell. You heard what I said, you have a family down there that needs you much more, then we need you right now. It’s not your time, when we’re ready for you we’ll come get you.”
“Can I hold him?”
“Sure.”
I took him into my arms and he looked just like his mom. He even has her dimples. “Hey little man, you look just like your mom.”
“He’s handsome. Just like my other two grandsons.”
“He is handsome huh?”
“Yes, now you need to go back down there and give me a beautiful little granddaughter.”
“Okay, I’ll try.”
“Don’t try, just do it.”
“Okay Mama, I love you.”
“I love you too, baby, we’ll be here waiting for you, but don’t come back anytime soon.”
“Okay.”
“Alright, we got him. He’s back,” I heard someone yell.

I opened my eyes and looked around. I didn’t know where I was. I heard a beeping noise and tried to sit up. What the hell did I do that for? I had pain shoot through my chest when I did that.
“He’s awake,” I heard someone say.
Lani came over to my bed and lifted it up.
“Push the button to get the nurse,” I heard my pops say.
Two minutes later, a nurse walked in the room. “Nice to see you up Mr. Jones.”
“How long have I been here?” I asked suddenly remembering what happened to get me there.
“Just a couple of hours,” she responded checking my vitals.
After she was done, she left the room. As soon as she left, Micah came and sat on my bed. “Man don’t ever scare us like that again. We thought we had lost you.”
“You know I’m too stubborn to go anywhere man. I have two sons that need me, so I can’t go nowhere. But how did I get here?”
“We called the ambulance after we walked in the house. You should’ve known I wasn’t about to let my little brother go in there by himself. While you were following baby girl, we were following you.”
“That’s love man. That shit was crazy though, it was something straight out of a soap opera.”
“You can tell me about it later.”
I looked over and saw Romell asleep in Pop’s arms. “Come here MJ.”
He came over looking sad like he had been crying. “Wassup man, I’m straight, quit crying. Daddy ain’t going nowhere.”
He hugged my neck and I felt that pain shoot through my chest again.
“Arghh!”
“Okay little man, let Daddy get some rest,” Micah said.
Ramone had a far-off look in his eyes.
What the fuck is wrong with him?
I looked around the room and noticed everybody was looking that way and like they had been crying. Even Neicey’s dad had tears in his eyes.
Speaking of, where she got her ass at?
I thought to myself.
“Aye, man, where’s Neicey at?” I asked my brother.
Ramone rushed out of the room when I asked that question and of course, Lani ran after him. Nobody answered my question.
“Let me guess, she had to go identify that nigga’s body? It’s cool; she’ll probably come see me later.”
“What do you mean identify his body?” Micah asked looking confused.
“I know I shot that nigga and he’s dead. So she probably had to identify his body since Kya can’t do it.”
“Bruh there was only three bodies when we got there.”
“Yeah. Kya, Kamil, and me. So Olivia got away huh?”
“No, you, Kya and Neicey. What do you mean Olivia got away?”
“Wait, what do you mean Neicey was one of the bodies there? Where is she?”
“First, tell me what you mean Olivia by was there?”
“Olivia was the one who hired Kamil to get rid of Neicey. Now once again where is Reneice?” I asked sternly.
“Umm,” he held his head down.
“Come on man. Don’t do this to me. She not gone man, she can’t be. She has to be here to watch Romell grow and make sure MJ do right. She not gone.”
I had tears streaming down my face but I didn’t give a fuck. That was the first time I’d cried in forever and I deserved to. My heart was gone. I felt like less of a man because I didn’t protect her.
“It’s okay baby, just let it go,” Lani said while rubbing my back. I hadn’t cried since I lost my mama but that shit was eating me up. I had failed my sister. I wasn’t there to protect her like I promised her I would.
What kind of brother am I?
“It’s my fault Lani, I failed her. I let that bitch take my sister away from me. The sad thing about it is his ass is still out there breathing.”
“Shhh, it is not your fault. This was all his fault. You told her how you felt, and you were right, he just got to her before she could leave. Don’t worry he’s going to get his.”
“I gotta call my boys,” I said taking my phone out of my pocket.
“Yo Mone wassup?” Corey answered.
“She’s gone man,” I said barely above a whisper.
“What? Speak up man I can’t hear you!”
“She’s gone.”
“Who?”
I cried.
“Man don’t say that. Are you serious? Know what, say no more. We on our way.”
I hung up and saw my dad coming towards us.
“Did you tell him?” I asked
“Yeah, he’s not taking it too good.”
“Shit, none of us are. I just called Corey and them so they know. They said they’re on the way up here. I already know this shit is gonna kill Lakey.”
My phone started ringing.
Speaking of the devil.
“Yo,” my voice cracked.
“Man tell me this shit ain’t true Mone. Tell me you playing; tell me my Snook ain’t gone.” I could tell he was crying.
“I wish I could man.”
“Y’all got that nigga right?”
“He got away.”
“FUCK THAT! THAT BITCH GOTTA GO,” he yelled before he hung up.
I didn’t mean to shoot her. She jumped in the way and was shot. That bitch nigga shot me in my shoulder and that shit burned like hell. If he wouldn’t have run his mouth and just left us alone, none of that would have happened. It was all his fault. I went to see one of my old friends and he patched my ass up. Now all I had to do was hop on my private jet and I was gone. I’d be on my way back to Cali.
I really did hate that the shit happened. I really did love her. If I didn’t, I would have just offed her ass and collected my money. What nigga you know would turn down some money for a female if he wasn’t really feeling her? I admit, in the beginning, I was doing my job then I fell for her little ass.
I knew I got that nigga because I put a couple more in his chest, so I didn’t have to worry about him coming after me.
