For those suffering miserably at the hands of fate…

The Dress

"If I don't find the perfect dress, I'm not going."

"What do you mean, you're not going? Stop looking for an excuse to bow out. You’ll find a dress!”

Melissa Franks sped down the highway as she spoke to her best friend over the Bluetooth speaker in her car. She was heading to her favorite mall to find a dress for an old high school friend’s wedding. She'd been trying to decide if she would go for weeks. Now, three days before the big event, she was scrambling to pull an outfit together.

"Well, I hope so because I'm not going to another mall if I don't find something that really catches my eye.  And, I'm not going to the wedding if I don't find a dress that I love."

"Are you at least feeling better about going, now?" her friend Felicity Peters responded.

Melissa sighed, "I'm fine. Who knows? It could be fun. I haven't seen some of my friends who’ll be there since the day we graduated. So, it'll be good to see them."

"That's the spirit. I think you'll have fun."

"Unless Terrence and Christina decide to show up. Ugh. I think I'll just tuck myself into a ball and roll out of there if they do."

Terrence and Christina had been high school sweethearts and friends of Melissa's. Until she and Terrence developed feelings for one another, making for a scandal that her gossipy, teen-aged schoolmates feasted on for months.

"I don't think they'll be there. I think you're gonna go to that wedding and have a fantastic time. Now, go. Find your dress and call me back. Send me some pictures via text and I'll let you know what I think."

"Thanks for the push. I'll call you later."

"Cool. I'll be right here," Felicity responded.

Melissa removed the key fob from her car's ignition and sat quietly.  She went over a mental checklist of things she was looking for in a dress, then hopped out of the car to head inside.  A hint of fall was in the air as October moved into Maryland like the slow ooze from a bottle of corn syrup.

Melissa decided to start her search in a department store where she could normally find a large selection of dresses in one well laid out area.  She dodged the attendants offering free samples of fragrances and lotions and immediately dove in to the racks once she reached the oasis of frocks.  She wanted something sexy, but not slutty. To stand out, but not appear desperate. That required just the right balance of tits and ass on display.
I gotta give the boys a little something to wonder about.

"Can I help you find something?"

The mousy-looking clerk walked up to Melissa and gave her a once over that said everything she'd never allow her lips to utter, "Tramp." Her tone was short and curt and there was nothing friendly about it at all.

Melissa smiled politely, then declined the offer of assistance.

"Um, no thank you. I think I can handle it. But, I'll definitely give you a shout if I need anything."
Like some tweezers to remove that hair from your chin.

Melissa turned and rolled her eyes, disgusted by the woman's obvious judgment of her before she'd even uttered a word.

Cranky old bitch. I bet even she's getting more dick than me.

Melissa was 30 years old and she was kicking ass and taking names as a management consultant to some of the most powerful firms on K Street. She'd been educated at the finest schools in the country and she could discuss everything from the situation in Ukraine to George Clooney's wedding guest list with ease.

She stood 5'9" tall and while she was lean, she had curves in all the right places. Her juicy, 38c tits made men squirm in their seats when she walked into a room. Her jet black hair framed her well-featured face perfectly and her smile, protected by plump, too seldom kissed lips, could bring a man to his knees. Yet, she was perpetually single and something had to give. She hadn’t had sex in so long, she was beginning to wonder if she ever would again.

She moved about the dress section quickly, devouring the selections with her eyes, so she could make a choice and be on her way.   She gasped when she stumbled upon a sleek, red Calvin Klein number that she knew would melt into each of her curves just right.  It had gold accent zippers near the breast area and a thin, gold belt to cinch her waist allowing her to cast the perfect silhouette in any light. Yes, this was the one.
Now, to try it on. “
If it doesn't fit, I'm gonna take it as a sign that I need to stay home,” she said out loud to no one in particular.

She darted through the racks and headed towards the fitting rooms. No way was she taking any chance that might require her to make a trip back to the mall because the dress didn't fit.  She slid into the dressing room and said a silent prayer.  Half hoping that the dress
did
fit, so she could make her old classmates eat their hearts out, while also hoping that it
didn't
so she could stay home and veg out on Netflix on demand. She could count on receiving a detailed play by play from the numerous lookie lous who’d be in attendance.

She wiggled her hips into the dress, then admired herself in the mirror.
Damn, I look good. There's no way I can not go after seeing the way this dress hits my curves just right.

She was ecstatic, almost giddy, with excitement. What luck to find the perfect dress so quickly? She sent Felicity a quick, celebratory text, then grabbed her things so she could pay and head home. One of her absolute favorite places to be in the world.
And, probably the reason I can't seem to find a damn date.

When she got back into her car, she quickly yanked down her rear view mirror to get a good look at herself.
You sexy bitch, go to that wedding and remind them who you are. It's time to end this drought for once and for all.

The Wedding

The day of the wedding, Melissa awoke in her childhood bed at her parents' house. She reached for her work cell phone to make sure she hadn't missed any important calls, then checked text messages on her personal cell.

Can't wait to see you, today. I know you’re going to be working the hell out of some dress...

She rolled her eyes at the text she'd received from an old high school friend. A friend who was now married and a father to three kids.
When will some men ever learn? And, when will I ever sleep in this bed with a man of my own? A little morning sex would be great right now.
She thought back to the days when she first began exploring her sexuality as a girl. To those days when she struggled to maintain her virginity as her hormones raged. All of her friends were fucking like rabbits, but she was determined to wait until she was married to have sex. Something she should have known would never happen as much as she enjoyed masturbating. She didn’t make it to the end of her freshman year of college before she gave it up on a twin bed in her dorm room to a boy one year older than her. He had a huge cock and she savored the sweet pain it brought to her tight opening, training her to take a big pole with ease. Her first sexual intercourse experience set a ridiculously high bar for all men who would come after him.

The thought of those early days got her juices flowing and before long, her fingers began inching down the front of her satin nightgown. Over her full breasts and flat stomach. Heading towards the warm, moist center of her being. She became so overwhelmed at the thought of being ravaged in her old bedroom, she snatched the nightie up and pushed her fingers into her soaking wet pussy. First two, then three, as she lunged against her hand, beckoning an orgasm forth.
What are you doing? What if someone hears you?!
She used one hand to pleasure her now rock hard nipples while the other explored every curve and every fold of her wetness.

Oh my gosh, I need a man so badly. How much longer must I suffer?

She plunged and lunged, gyrated and humped, using her hand to pleasure herself, until she released a deep, muffled moan. Her breaths were ragged as her lustful thirst was quenched. Her fingers were soaked with her lady cum.

That would have been so much better with a big, strapping man with a fat cock between my thighs.

Melissa composed herself, then went to have a chat with her mother. She was glad to be home for a visit after she'd been away so many months.  She didn't get to visit her parents as often as she'd like because her work was so demanding. But, she tried to make the most of her trips there when she could. This one would be quick. She was taking the first flight out the next morning so she could get back to her own place in the city that she loved, Washington, D.C.

"Well, look who decided to join us. Good morning!" her mother joked as soon as she walked into the kitchen. "Are you hungry?"

"Mom, I can't eat some big breakfast and have my stomach looking as if I'm three months pregnant at the wedding!"

"I am most certainly
not
suggesting that you eat a "big breakfast". But, if you go to that ceremony with an empty stomach, should you find yourself being picked up from the floor after being accosted with smelling salts, don't say I didn't warn you."

Her mother's thick southern accent made her chuckle, and convinced her to eat at least a little something before she got dressed for the ceremony.

"Where's dad?" she asked as she realized she hadn't seen or heard him since she woke up.

"Where else? In that damned garage working on that pickup. I dunno why he doesn't have that old jalopy dragged on away from here."

Melissa laughed, "Leave the old man alone. I'm going to get dressed."

She went back into her bedroom and began unpacking the items she'd need for the wedding. She sent a group text to some friends who'd be there:
See you bitches, soon!

Then, she got started. She primped and coiffed, smoothed and cinched until she was thoroughly satisfied with herself. She felt like a million bucks and she knew she'd turn more than a few heads at the ceremony.
I may not have a man, but at least I look like I should have one.

She told her parents goodbye, then headed towards her destination. When she arrived, she felt like a fool for going there with her single self.
What the hell was I thinking?

Couples were filing into the church arm in arm, smiling, as they headed inside to witness two people declare their undying love for one another for all of eternity. The ceremony was brief and touching.  She sat with some old high school pals, but they weren't able to speak until after the ceremony.

"If it isn't Melissa Franks.  All grown up and all grown out.  You are,
indeed,
wearing that dress just as well as I thought you would," declared Clinton Darlings, former captain of the men’s basketball team and the object of every girl’s desire when they were in school.

"Hi, Clinton," she responded dryly. His wife walked up dragging two little ones behind her as she held an even smaller one in her arms. Her facial expression read: PISSED.
