            “
No
, please!” she begs, reaching out for his hand.  Mark’s cock stirs at her touch.  “Please—I…”

Staring behind him to make sure her next words are for his ears only, Jasmine whispers,

“I can stay tonight—as late as you need me to.  I won’t tell anyone, I
swear
—but
please…please
allow me to fix this?”

Trying to look as concerned as can be, Mark takes a deep, theatrical breath as he pretends to ponder her offer.

Rubbing at his eyes with a thumb and forefinger, he finally relents.

“Okay,” he whispers back.  “I really wouldn’t ask for help on this, but I’m just ridiculously swamped right now…”

“I understand, I promise to take care of it.  And once again, I am
so
sorry…”

            Mark gives a kind smile.

“It’s okay,” he assures.  “As long as it’s taken care of tonight, there’ll be no problems, and we’ll be okay.”

Jasmine smiles, and lets out a sigh of relief.

“I’m probably not going to be available until a little after eight—is that too late for you?  Please let me know as soon as possible if it is, and I’m sure I can get Ian or Justin to…”

“I’ll be here,” she states firmly.  “I’ll go home at five, and return at eight o’clock, on the
dot
—I’ll be here.”

Continuing to look unsure about their arrangement, Mark folds his arms as he pretends to be reconsidering.

“Eight o’clock, Mr. Peters.  I’ll be here, and I’ll fix the mess I created.  I
swear
it.”

Pressing his lips together firmly, Mark finally nods and sighs,

“Okay.  Thank you, Jasmine—I appreciate your offer.  I’m going to head home for a bit to try and concentrate on another project.  I’ll be back at eight.”

Turning before she can say another word, he leaves her to calm her fragile bundle of nerves.

Mark wastes no time in leaving for the day.  Giving his secretary the message that he’ll be working from home, he rushes out of the building and heads to his car.

Once inside, he grips the steering wheel tightly while taking a deep breath.

            He’d done it.

It was finally going to happen.

He’d played his role well, and he was finally going to get what he desired.

Imagining Jasmine’s arms delicately draped around his neck while she sat on his lap gives him a few minutes of silent pleasure before he starts the engine, and takes off.

Mark spends most of the day lounging about his penthouse apartment, while taking generous sips of Dom Perignon.

Falling asleep at some point, he awakens at around seven, and realizes he’s running late.

Hopping into the shower, he hurriedly gets dressed again to head back to the office.

He’s greeted at the front desk by a young guard named Derrick, who looks surprised to see him there.  After explaining that he had to leave earlier, and wanted to return before morning to take care of unfinished business, Mark heads up the elevator with his heart racing as fast as a hummingbird’s.

A sole overhead light dimly greets him as the doors open up to his floor, and after reaching out nearby to instinctively flip all the light switches on, he decides against the extra illumination.

Makes it seem almost romantic
, he muses.
Besides, the last thing I need is to call more attention to the fact that I’ve returned, or that Jasmine will be here with me…

Unlocking his office door, he steps inside and shuffles his way in the semi-darkness of moonlight to find the two standing lamps behind his desk.  After adjusting the radiance on them both to bathe the room in moderate lighting, he takes a seat at his desk, and moves the paperwork Jasmine was coming to help him with in front of him.

He’d been able to piece the papers together just fine, but she didn’t need to know that.

Removing a few pages and stuffing them into his desk, he decides to create an unfixable solution that it would take her quite a while to figure out she could never solve.

That would give him plenty of time to seduce her.

Long, drawn out minutes pass by as he rests his head on the open palm of an elbow propped up on his desk.  Tapping his fingers, and letting his thoughts run wild, the notion of Jasmine failing to show occurs to him.

Panic gripping his heart, he sits back in his chair as he realizes all that could have gone wrong after he left.

What if she told someone she was staying late?
He starts.
What if they then advised her against it?

What if she changed her mind—or, even worse, what if she quit before she could possibly be fired?

He sighs deeply as he realizes he may have made a grave mistake by heightening the importance of the papers.  He should have just asked her for her help in a friendly way.  He should have made it seem like it would just be a favor to him, and let her know that the papers were nowhere near as important as he made them out to be.  He should have…

The ding of the elevator down the hall reaches his ears, amplified by the silence of the room beyond.

Holding his breath and staring at the door with his heart racing again, Mark is relieved when Jasmine’s pale face appears in the opening he’s left available.

She stands in the doorway, wearing nothing but a white sundress that stops mid-thigh, and white sandals.  Her golden-red hair is pulled into two low ponytails hanging behind either side of her shoulders.

“Hi Mr. Peters,” she greets, entering the room and tilting the door again.  “I’m sorry that I’m late, I didn’t realize the time…”

            Ecstatic beyond belief, Mark answers,

“I was just about to call it a night; I didn’t think you were coming…”

            “Oh—no!” she breathes.  “I’m
so
sorry…
God
, you must be so tired of hearing me apologize…”

“Quite alright,” he chuckles.  “Why don’t you pull up a chair, and have a seat over here.  Maybe you can help me figure out the order of these papers…”

Grabbing a chair from the far end of the room, Jasmine transports it to a spot on his right, and once she’s settled in beside him, peers down at the disorganized papers.

            “I
still
can’t believe I messed this up,” she moans.  “It’s my fault that you have to spend the night worrying about all this…”

“Well, as long as we fix it, it’ll be fine.”

Spreading out the papers before her, Jasmine studies the top and bottom lines on one page in order to match them up to the next.  Mark pretends to do the same.

After about ten minutes of feigning confusion, Mark throws the papers in his hands down with a sigh.

“I don’t think we’ll be able to fix this,” he whispers.  “I think I’ll just have to ask Eric or Michael if it’s possible to have another copy sent over…”

            “
No
!” Jasmine cries.  “No, I can figure it out…just give me a few minutes more…”

            “Jasmine…”

            “It’s
okay
!  I’m
sure
I can figure it out—you don’t even have to help me!  I’ll get it all done by myself…”

Staring over at her beautiful profile while she bites down on her bottom lip and shuffles through the incomplete paperwork, Mark almost feels guilty enough to admit that several pages are missing.

Instead, he rests his hands atop hers in order to stop her efforts.

“It’s really not a problem, Jasmine,” he whispers.  “I’ll find a way to get another copy, and I won’t mention what happened to this copy—no one will ever have to know…”

This doesn’t seem to sit well with her, and she prepares her lips to continue protest, but Mark stops her with a confession about himself.

“You know…I was once an intern myself.”

Jasmine’s eyes go wide, and the insistence that was on the tip of her tongue is momentarily held back.

“I had this errand to run—I was brand spanking new to the company I worked for, and all I had to do was shoot some papers over to another office building…but I got side-tracked along the way, and lost the paperwork…”

“Oh wow, that’s horrible,” Jasmine gasps.  “What happened afterwards?”

“Well, I had to come back to the office and tell them that the papers had been stolen from me.  I prepared myself for dismissal, but I had a really kind boss who saw potential in me, and he gave me another shot with a whole new set of paperwork…”

Figuring that he means for her to try to make things right, Jasmine promises,

            “
I’ll
ask for a new copy myself tomorrow.  I don’t mind telling them it was my fault—I’ll promise to do better in the future, and hopefully they’ll be as kind to me as your boss was to you…”

            Mark smiles.

            “Your boss has
already
been kind to you,” he reminds.  “I said that I’d take care of it tomorrow, and I promise that I will.  You’re safe—no one is going to fire you.  I won’t allow it.”

He can see that she’s mentally teetering on the brink of wanting to refuse his offer, and wanting to wrap her arms around his neck in thanks.

In the end, Jasmine smiles fondly at him, and he sighs at her beauty.

“Want to know how the papers I was to deliver got stolen?”

Jasmine nods, and waits with baited breath.

“I got sidetracked by a secretary who asked me to follow her into a back room, and…”

Realizing that Jasmine is really so innocent that she she’s actually waiting for him to complete the story, he does.

“She sat me down in a chair similar to the one I’m sitting in now, sat on my lap, and seduced me.”

Jasmine gasps, and Mark is satisfied when she clamps a hand over her mouth as she begins to giggle.

Wow
,” she finally breathes.

“Yeah…I left the papers on a desk up front, and when I went out to retrieve them afterwards, they were gone.  No one knew who had taken them.”

Jasmine continues to giggle as she shakes her head.

“I can’t believe that,” she laughs.

“What, that I lost the paperwork, or that I was seduced?”

No
, no—I mean the whole story…it’s so…”

Mark waits for the possible words that could come out of her mouth:  “disgusting”, “wrong”, “unprofessional”.  However, she uses none of these descriptions.

“It’s so
sexy
,” she concludes.

Mark is in heaven.

“You think so?” he questions.

            “Well,
yeah
.  The thought of taking a break from work to…to be
satisfied
by someone…”

Catching herself before she continues, she covers her mouth again and stares up at Mark in utter mortification.

“Oh no—what am I doing?” she whispers through her fingers.  “That was
so
rude of me…”

Mark smiles warmly at her, wanting to kiss her embarrassment away.

“No, it wasn’t rude at all,” he returns.  “After all,
I’m
the one who told you the dirty story…”

Realizing he’s right, she drops her hand and nods as she stares down at her lap.

“Have you ever done something like that?” he chances.

Jasmine’s eyes return to his, and widen as she quickly shakes her head.

“No way,” she whispers.  “God…I could
never
do something like that…”

Mark places an elbow on his armrest as he swivels his chair back and forth a bit.

“Really?” he questions.  “Are you trying to break into modeling, or acting?”

            “
Yes
—acting!” she chirps.

            “So…”

Choosing his next words carefully, he tries not to overwhelm or frighten her.

“So, let’s say you were told that you could take a shortcut in the journey to become a star…that all you would need to do is sit on one lap or kiss one set of lips—maybe even a bit more, depending on how badly you wanted to make it…you’d not consider giving in to the situation a bit?”

Staring off into space, Jasmine’s lips part but she doesn’t answer.
