“Hold still, princess,” he purred. “Dmitry still isn’t done with you yet.”

Sarah moaned and put her hands over Dastan’s. She didn’t understand. Dastan was inside her. What was he waiting on? Why wasn’t he fucking her blind?

“I need…” She swallowed and tried to grind her hips backward.

“I know what you need,” Dastan whispered. “And trust me, I need it too.”

“Then do it,” she moaned. She moved Dastan’s hand over her tingling clit. “Please, Dastan.”

“How can you say no to that, Das?” Dmitry asked softly as he stood back, watching them.

His cock was still hard, the head still moist and engorged. Just like her, his release hadn’t been enough. He needed more, and so did she.

“Fuck her so I can,” Dmitry commanded in a deep growl.

Dastan released his hold on her hips, and Sarah eagerly dropped forward to her hands. Dastan’s thrusts started slow. He pulled almost all the way out, then pushed back in slowly, letting her feel every inch of his length as it swelled inside her. Her walls were stretched so tight, she could even feel his heartbeat. Could he feel hers? Could he feel how her walls tightened and quivered around him?

Surely he could.

He pulled almost out, then shoved himself back in hard. Sarah gasped, then moaned as he did it again. Over and over, he pumped into her, filling her, stretching her. Her release kept building, kept hovering just at that edge, but Dastan would never let her fall over. Instead, he kept her release at bay and lost himself to his own with one final hard thrust.

Sarah was shaking now she was so desperate. It seemed the more they gave her, the more she needed. Would it ever end, or would she stay in this constant state of arousal?

Dastan pulled his cock from her body and rolled her to her back. She sighed as her muscles relaxed now that they no longer supported her weight. He leaned over and placed a slow, sweet kiss against her lips. His tongue leisurely explored her mouth, teasing as he stroked it along hers.

Sarah was close to losing it. Her hips bucked wildly off the bed, searching, begging. Dastan broke the kiss and moved to the side, allowing Dmitry to settle between her eagerly splayed thighs. Dmitry sat on his knees, pulling Sarah’s ass up so that she was off the bed except for her upper back and shoulders. He positioned the head of his cock at her opening, but Sarah couldn’t wait anymore. Forcing her hips forward, she eased her pussy along his shaft.

Dmitry moaned loudly, then took over, shoving his cock the rest of the way inside her. Sarah screamed as his girth stretched her even more. His groin pressed against her clit, and she rocked herself against him, eager for the release she could feel building ever higher.

“Please,” she cried. “Oh God. Please!”

Dmitry began to move just as Dastan covered one nipple with his hot mouth. Sarah grabbed a handful of the bedspread beneath her and another handful of Dastan’s hair as Dmitry pumped deeper into her. There was no mercy. No slow lovemaking.

It was hard, sweaty, desperate fucking, pure and simple.

It was the most incredible sex Sarah had ever had in her life. Dmitry stilled long enough to lift her thighs over his shoulders. He bent forward and put his hands on the mattress on either side of her shoulders. She was practically bent in half. Sarah briefly tensed, worried that he was too big to take him that way—that his size would hurt her. But the second he thrust into her from that angle, she exploded into a thousand pieces. All fear of pain was gone, and in its place was a pleasure so strong, Sarah was sure she would pass out.

She felt her orgasm everywhere as it raced through her. Muscles quivered uncontrollably as strong waves of pleasure snaked up her spine. Her thighs tightened, and she tilted her hips upward. She’d swear he hit her womb, and the sensation strengthened the pulsing vibrations of her inner walls.

With a shout of his own, Dmitry joined her, thrusting one final time before spilling himself deep inside her body.

Sarah slid in and out of consciousness as Dastan rained soft, gentle kisses over her neck and cheek. Dmitry lowered her legs and did the same on the other side. Sarah sighed, not sure she wanted to awaken from this euphoria. She was terrified of the answers she knew she would need.

Why had this happened? Why did the three of them have a connection that shouldn’t exist between a shifter and a witch?

“Why?” she whispered, so tired and sated she couldn’t form any more words than that.

It was enough that Dastan understood. Or perhaps he had his own questions.

“Sleep, princess,” he whispered. “Answers will come later. I promise.”

AS SARAH CLOSED her eyes, Dastan glanced over at Dmitry.

“I want to know the answer to that myself,” Dmitry whispered. “What the hell is going on, Dastan? Can Sarah be a shifter and not know it?”

“We’ve known her all her life, Dmitry. We would’ve known.”

Dmitry rose up on his elbow with one hand on Sarah’s stomach. “Are you sure about that? I think we both know there are spells that can hide a shifter. One sat on the council for a millennium, and we never knew it until he tried to kill all of us.”

“That’s black magic. Who do we know other than Vincent who can pull that off?”

“No one. Perhaps you should pay Vincent a visit.”

Dastan sighed and glanced down at Sarah. “Perhaps we should talk to her first. Maybe she knows something and just doesn’t realize it.”

“Sarah is just as confused about this as we are, and you fucking know it.”

Dastan shook his head, then raked a hand through his hair to push it back off his face. “If we reveal that she’s a shifter, the one thing in the world she’s been brought up to not trust and avoid at all costs… It would kill her, Dmitry.”

“You don’t think that once she sleeps this off this won’t affect her? That was some pretty intense sex, Das.”

Dastan snorted. “No shit. I’m getting hard again just thinking about it.”

“Hard again,” Dmitry said with a snicker. “I never lost my damn hard-on.”

Dastan raised an eyebrow.

“Go talk to Vincent,” Dmitry said. “I’ll stay here with Sarah.”

“Fine,” Dastan said and rolled so that he could put his feet on the floor. “Try not to wear her out.” Dastan glanced back at Dmitry, then waved his hand to make his clothes reappear. “Let her breathe a little before attacking her again.”

“I won’t do anything unless she starts it.”

Dastan snorted, then concentrated on finding Vincent. Once he’d homed in on Vincent’s presence, he silently transported himself to his location.

Chapter Eight

Dastan appeared in a library. The walls were lined with books, and a fire burned in the fireplace. In front of him was a massive cherry wood desk. Behind the desk in a red leather chair sat Vincent. As a witch, Vincent had seen and done many things. Some legal, some so far outside the legal lines Dastan was amazed he hadn’t been banished. Vincent had the nine lives of a cat.

One thing most everyone knew about Vincent was how reliable he was. He was always there when needed. He could work black magic like a pro. Stare down an adversary without fear. And was one of the few witches who had no problem going up against a vampire. Vincent was definitely a man to be admired. Most importantly, he was a man to be feared.

Without even looking up, Vincent asked casually, “What’s up, Das?”

Dastan raised an eyebrow. “You don’t seem surprised to see me.”

“I’m not. I knew you were coming about five seconds before I saw you. After what happened to Kaelin’s wife a couple of years ago, I keep a closer watch out for intruders now. I have a mortal wife to protect. The spell forces anyone who enters the grounds to appear before me. Kind of cuts down on the whole sneaking-in thing.”

Dastan nodded in understanding. “I bet.”

Vincent brushed his long black hair behind his shoulders and sat back in the chair. “I’m assuming you wouldn’t be here unless it was important.”

“What do you know of Sarah’s parents?”

“Keegan’s friend?” Vincent shrugged. “Other than they’re both witches, and both are hiding something pretty big, not much. Why do you ask?”

With a sigh, Dastan moved to a leather chair facing Vincent’s desk. “You know that Dmitry and I took over Sam and Cody’s ranch.”

Vincent nodded. “How’s that going by the way?”

“The ranch is great.”

“But?”

“It’s Sarah.”

Vincent rested his elbow on the arm of the chair and rubbed his fingers across his chin. “Go on.”

“Dmitry and I just mated with her.”

“Wait a minute.” Vincent frowned. “Sarah’s with you at the ranch?”

“Keegan asked her to come as well, help us out at the ranch and keep an eye on us. Let Keegan know if we needed anything or got into any trouble.”

“Why would she do that?”

Dastan sighed. “My guess is she picked up on mine and Dmitry’s attraction to her. I guess she wanted Sarah to get to know us and stop wishing for our deaths.”

Vincent chuckled. “Well, this is an interesting predicament. So you had sex with her.”

“No, Vincent. We
mated
with her.”

“You can’t mate with her. She’s not a…”

Vincent stared at Dastan in shock. “And the lightbulb goes on,” Dastan murmured.

“Are you sure it was a mating?”

“Oh yeah,” Dastan said with a nod. “Positive. It’s not like sex at all. It’s rough, overpowering, uncontrollable—”

Vincent held up his hand. “I get it.”

“Her mother was attacked, right?” Dastan asked.

Vincent nodded.

“Did that attack include a rape?”

Vincent sat silent, thoughtful. “You think Sarah’s mother was raped by a shifter, and Sarah is the product of that rape?”

Dastan nodded. “The thought has crossed my mind. They could use black magic to cover it up, stop her aging process to keep her from entering Ascension.”

Vincent made a face. “I don’t know, Das.”

“Check into it?” Dastan asked.

Vincent leaned forward and placed his elbows on the desk. “Why don’t we go talk to Sarah’s mother now?”

* * * *

Sarah found herself running through the woods again. The cool wind riffled the fur coat covering her body, but she felt no cold. Her body burned with an inner heat that kept her comfortable. Her paws kicked up a thin layer of snow as she raced across the pasture. The full moon reflected against the snow, lighting her way.

At the top of the hill stood Dastan. She recognized the white tips on his ears. Next to him was Dmitry. The moonlight cast a soft, almost bluish hue to his fur.

They were both so handsome, so regal as they watched her approach. She couldn’t wait to be next to them, to run beside them. Her muscles trembled in anticipation and energy held tightly in check.

As she moved closer, her body began to warm in other ways. Why did this happen every time she got close to them? Why did she need them so desperately?

She could hear Dmitry’s softly spoken Russian words in her ear as though he was right next to her. His breath feathered across her earlobe, making her shiver.

“Dmitry,” she whispered.

“I’m here. Open your eyes, baby.”

Sarah’s eyes flew wide open, and she stared at the dark ceiling above. Had she been dreaming? What time was it? Why was her body so warm, tense, and sensitive?

A clap of thunder boomed so loud, it rattled the windows. Sarah jumped and turned her head just in time to see the lightning flash across the sky. She flinched at the brightness. She hated storms.

“Sarah?” Dmitry whispered.

She turned to face the other way and found Dmitry lying on his side, watching her. She froze, unsure what to say to him or how to act. They were both naked, her body still sticky from sweat and sex. It didn’t stop her from wanting him again. Not at all.

He placed his hand softly over her thigh but didn’t move it. He kept it in place, watching her closely. “Are you okay?”

“What time is it?” she asked, avoiding the question since she didn’t know how to answer.

He began to gently stroke her leg with the pad of his thumb. Goose bumps rose along her flesh, and she shifted ever so slightly in anticipation of a more intimate touch.

“It’s just past noon,” Dmitry said. “There’s a pretty bad storm moving in.”

“I don’t like storms,” she whispered, unable to think of anything other than his thumb as it swept back and forth over her skin.

He lowered his head and brushed his lips against her temple. “We can go somewhere else.”

Another clap of thunder rattled the windows. It was a perfect example of the turmoil she felt racing through her body. She wanted him, yet she wanted to push him away.

“Where would we go?” she murmured, as the touch of his lips sent goose bumps along her limbs.

“Wherever you wanted.”

Dmitry’s lips slid lower to her jaw, and Sarah swallowed. “Where’s Dastan?”

“He went to see Vincent.”

“About the wolf?”

There was a slight pause that made Sarah apprehensive. “Yes. About a wolf.”

Even in her fogged mind, she noticed that he said a wolf, not the wolf. Were they wondering the same thing she was? That there was something odd about her? That the more time she spent with them here, the more unlike herself she felt?

She hadn’t even told them about the dreams yet. Dreams of running through the woods, of chasing deer for fun, and… Sarah closed her eyes and sighed. It was nothing. It had to be nothing.

Dmitry’s lips touched her neck, and she tilted her head, allowing him better access.

But this wasn’t nothing. This was… She didn’t even know how to describe this other than undeniable, mind-blowing lust. She knew they needed to talk. She knew she should put some distance between them, but all she could think about was how badly she wanted Dmitry to slide his hand higher and put it between her legs.

She was already wet for him, already aching to feel his thick length stretching her. Something large hit the window, cracking it. Sarah screamed and turned her back, expecting whatever it was to come flying through, shattering the glass.

Dmitry sat up. “Decision made. We’re going somewhere else.”

“We can protect the house,” Sarah argued as she sat up as well. Her desire temporarily forgotten.
