Aidan’s lips brushed against her ear, “Relax, baby. Let me in.”
She let herself relax fully the way she had the first time he’d fucked her this way. Inch by inch he filled her, even as Sten’s huge cock drove into her aching pussy. She sighed, letting herself enjoy every second of ecstasy they gave her.
Even the first time the three of them had penetrated her, Jade hadn’t felt as free and alive as she did now. She only had two of them fucking her now, but Orrick’s gaze held hers, their fingers still entwined.
For the first time, she felt fully connected to all three of them. The knowledge of Aidan’s cubs in her womb was only part of it. Sten’s constant whispers of “I love you, Jade” in her ear and the press of Aidan’s lips against her neck reinforced the connection.
The hands clutching her upraised thigh entwined the same way her hand was tangled with Orrick’s, Aidan’s fingers intimately gripped with Sten’s. They held her thigh aloft while they both fucked her.
“I love you,” she said softly, giving herself up to the pleasure. She meant all of them. The sweet, solicitous pair who had captured her heart the first day she’d been with them, and the hard, brooding man who had lost everything but found it again in her somehow.
She belonged to them as wholly as they to her, and she knew without a doubt that Tessa’s words were the truth.
She would never be lonely again.
Epilogue
T
he lodge buzzed with excitement, members of every clan arriving with regularity throughout the afternoon and evening. The entire massive building and its expansive surrounding gardens were strung with lights. These were the magical variety, however, and not solar-powered.
Jade gazed around the grounds in wonder. She and Emma had produced the most spectacular display along the edges of the walkway that led up to the huge stone steps and the front porch. The rows of trees on either side of the path were twined together with an elaborate canopy of lights that twinkled like stars, with more small lights floating between the same way the pollen had floated in the sunlight on top of Gaia’s Falls.
Learning the magic had taken some time, but now that she knew how, she didn’t think she’d ever get tired of producing such beautiful sights with it. She especially didn’t think she’d ever get tired of her other favorite outlet for her excess magic. Her mates were even more solicitous than ever, which she finally realized she didn’t have to force herself to enjoy. Aidan had become the
worst
of the three where babying her was concerned.
She pressed her hands to her swollen belly, smiling to herself about how sweet and tender he’d become, in sharp contrast to the urgent, domineering way he’d made love to her the first day. The knowledge that they were
his
cubs growing in her belly had turned him into the mushiest man alive, but Sten and Orrick weren’t far behind. Jade wouldn’t have it any other way, not for any of them, because they were
her
mushy men.
Jade stood at the top of the steps now, lined up with her family greeting the guests as they arrived. Everyone seemed to know her, addressing both her and Emma by name, with utter deference that almost made her want to scream. She could deal with doting mates, but she still couldn’t quite get used to feeling like royalty.
“If one more person
bows
to me,” she said under her breath. “I think I might punch someone.”
Emma laughed. “Enjoy it. It’ll be winter before too long and we’ll be shut up inside driving each other crazy like usual.”
Jade’s mood fizzled, and even Aidan’s hand squeezing hers couldn’t boost it. Winters spent shut inside with her cousins now seemed like such a distant memory. She’d settled in at the lodge with her mates well enough that she looked forward to being with them through the cold season, but the idea of going through an entire winter without Jasper trying to drive her nuts left her in a funk.
“You drove me nuts worse,” a familiar voice said.
Jade’s head shot up in surprise. Jasper stood before her, grinning broadly. He opened his arms. Jade flung herself at her brother, overwhelmed with delight at his very presence and his familiar mossy scent.
“Jasper! My god how the hell are you even here? I thought Autumn was pregnant, that you wouldn’t come.”
“Well, I wasn’t going to, but Autumn and Gunnar got sick of my brooding. They kicked me out.”
Jade pulled back and gawked at him.
Jasper quirked his lips and gave her arms a squeeze. “Don’t worry, just temporarily. Ever since Gunnar and I marked Autumn, I’ve been getting these little . . . visions? I couldn’t figure them out at first until I remembered what you said about us being connected. I guess I have enough magic now that it goes both ways. And I’ve hated like hell that I couldn’t be here for you, at least a little bit.”
“Oh, Jas. You don’t have to worry about me,” Jade said. She glanced up at Aidan, then looked over her shoulder to where Sten and Orrick stood leaning against the railing watching the newcomers trickle in. As if sensing her attention, they both turned to look in unison and she beckoned them over.
Jasper’s eyebrows shot up when the pair came up beside Jade, Sten slipping his arm around her waist and Orrick leaning in from behind to kiss her on the cheek.
“You know Aidan already, I think. Do you remember Sten and Orrick?”
Jasper grinned at them all. “Emma’s boy toys? How could I forget. I guess they belong to you now, huh? You keeping them as busy as Emma did?”
Jade nearly scowled at him until she caught the playful glint in his eyes. She narrowed her eyes and dug a knuckle into his ribs. “You pest. I’m so glad you’re here. Do you have any idea how much I miss my old room?”
“Well, I couldn’t very well miss our birthday, could I? Besides, today was the first day I could pass through the portal. And—” He pulled his heavy pack off his shoulders, opened it and dug around inside. “—I thought you might like these.”
Perplexed, Jade reached down and took the collection of small, cloth-wrapped bundles he handed to her. They were soft, and carried the familiar scent of the house she’d grown up in—of her own room. Tears sprang to her eyes again at the old memories. Memories of her old bed, the huge four-poster frame handmade by her dad. Of the collections of dried flower arrangements her friend Melody liked to give her when she was little that she used to decorate in small vases. And especially of the collection of bears she had scattered around in all kinds of permutations.
It had been Jade and Jasper’s regular gifts to each other from as early as she could remember. Every year on their birthday, they would give each other a bear for a gift.
Her vision blurred as she untied the cloth ribbon that held one bulky bundle closed. Inside was a floppy brown teddy bear, it’s soft, faux fur a shiny black. She knew without looking what the other three bundles held—her four favorites. Once they were opened she hugged them to her chest, tears streaming unchecked down her cheeks.
Jasper’s eyes had gone watery, too. “There are going to be four, aren’t there?” he asked, his voice a gruff whisper. “I thought you would want these for . . . for my nieces and nephew.”
Jade couldn’t speak, she was so overcome with emotion. She only nodded and pulled his head down and kissed him.
“Happy birthday, sis,” he said holding her tightly with his forehead resting on hers.
“Happy birthday, Jasper.”

And beasts that beautiful only awaken to one thing: the unbridled release of humans in the throes of ecstasy.
“The tale resembles those of Indiana Jones and Benjamin Franklin Gates except that there is a heroine instead of a hero. As a bonus or whipped cream and cherry on this adventurous delight, the reader is treated to essences of Fifty Shades without the self-doubt and complete lack of self-esteem.” -
