She rolled her eyes. “All right, then.” She put her arms around him, and his heart got bigger than his chest. “I love you, too, Nikodemus.

Nikodemus curled his fingers around her waist and drew her toward him. He opened his mind and his heart to her. “That’s a goddamned fucking relief to hear. Because you’re not Magellan’s witch anymore, sweetheart. You’re mine.”
