“What fucking issues is she causing?” I’m pacing as G’s sitting at the table, his elbows are both leaning on the wood top and his hands are steepled in front of his face. His forehead’s all bunched together and I can tell that he’s highly stressed.

“Take care of her.” I instruct him.

“We can’t.”

“Why the fuck not? Get this Fifteen to take her out.”

“We can’t, not just yet anyway. She’s just approached us for money, she’s also said she’s got, whatever the fuck she found, copied and in two secured spots.”

“Well fuck her, G, if she’s got them in two secured spots, then no one will ever find it once we take her out. Call Fifteen, pay her whatever she wants, and take the bitch out.”

“Frankie, shut the fuck up and listen. This broad ain't as dumb as her husband. She’s left instructions on where the information is in case of her death.”

“How the hell do you know this, G?”

“She was very clear. She thinks she has us cornered, but…….” G averts his eyes and is quite coy and mischievous in his demeanour.

“But…… What?”

“Well, after what I saw in the limo, I think we have a way in.”

“What?”

“Her son, Frankie.”

It must be late because I don’t quite understand what G’s saying. Or I’m still frustrated at Jeremy’s lacklustre performance.

“It’s damn late and the prick didn’t get me off, so what the hell are you saying, G?”

“You’re
our
in, Frankie. If you show her you can get to anyone, she’ll leave us alone long enough for us to find what she has and where it is.”

“You want me to sleep with him again? Didn’t you see his performance or should I say lack thereof?”

“Not at all, Frankie, I’m just saying that maybe you should give him a chance to make it up to you. I mean, I know you, there’s no way you would’ve gone there if there wasn’t some sort of attraction to start with.”

“Really, G?” I mean Jeremy’s definitely easy on the eye and we did seem to banter quite well together, but I really didn’t want a repeat of the limo. “I suppose I could go out to dinner with him again. But I’m not calling him. I’ll wait til he calls me.”

G smiles as if he knows a secret I’m not privy to.

Chapter 5

Three days pass and it’s been fairly quiet in the DeLuca house. All our operations are easily transacted and no issues have arisen. Those three days were quite boring, so I went over the books and figures of all our operations. Nothing seemed to be out of place with the operations.

On the third day, Friday afternoon, one of the security guards from the front gate buzzes up to tell me I have a flower delivery. That limp arsehole was trying to make it up to me with flowers.
Jeremy.

“Send them up.” I instruct the gate guard.

G overhears and walks to the front door awaiting my flowers. He comes into the office a few moments later with three delivery men following him. Each man’s carrying a vase with long stemmed roses. Each vase has different color flowers, red, pink, yellow and white. They place the vases wherever they see a spot.

“There’s more, Frankie.” G announces as he follows the delivery men out, within minutes another four vases with different colored roses arrive. This time peach, purple, orange and green roses. I lean back in my office chair and start smirking. Is Jeremy Miller a total nut case? Eight vases of roses don my office but the men make a return trip carrying more vases, this time an array of colored orchids.

“That’s all there is, Mam,” one of the delivery drivers announces. That’s all there is? Really, my office looks like a florist, actually I don’t think flower shops have as much stock as I do. The delivery man hands me an envelope and on the front in perfect formation is my name ‘Frankie.’

“Thank you,” I excuse everyone including G out of my office. Jeremy may not have satisfied me in the limo but I do have to admit, I’m quite impressed with this apology statement he’s making. Maybe another date wouldn’t be so bad,
as long as I don’t ride him.

I open the envelope and take out a letter written in the same precise writing as on the envelope.

Frankie,

I can’t express how sorry I am with what happened in the limousine. I really want the chance to make it up to you. I’ve been thinking about you and all I want to do is to start over. I’m embarrassed about my ‘performance’ and even though I’m fairly certain that you and I will never do that again, I just want to tell you that I’m really sorry and I would love to take you out for dinner. Totally on your terms, I just want to say how sorry I am.

I’ll be waiting for your call

Jeremy
.

I reread the letter and find his desperation is somewhat intriguing and dazzling. Can Jeremy actually be
that
sorry?

Dialling his number it only rings three times before his deep throaty voice answers.

“Jeremy Miller.”

“It appears my office is now a florist.”

“Do you like them?” I hear hope in his voice.

“I’m allergic.” I snidely rebuff.

“What?” Disappointment now clear, I smile at my evil ways.

“Looks like I’ll have to throw them out, Jeremy.”

“I….,” He pauses “damn, something else I have to apologise for.”

I start laughing at his defeated tone.

“You’re not allergic are you? Serves me right I suppose.”

“So, what’s with this bullshit sap of a letter you sent me?”

“Gee, Frankie, can you tone it down a bit.” Did Jeremy Miller just challenge me?

“I beg your pardon, Jeremy?”

“Come on, cut a guy some slack. I’m trying my hardest to say sorry, you don’t have to throw it back in my face all the time. If you don’t want to talk to me, why the hell did you call me?”

“What? What’s wrong with you? This is my way of accepting your apology.”

“Oh, well then, good. So I’m taking you out for dinner.”

“Are you now?”

“Damn it, Frankie. Stop being a bitch. Yes I am and if you don’t like it, too bad. Be ready by 6pm.”

“What if I’m busy?”

“What if I don’t give a damn? 6pm, not a minute after,” and with that Jeremy hangs up giving me no chance to argue. What an arsehole, what a complete and utter dick. How dare he talk to me like that, all commanding and alpha male.

If I hate it so much, why are my thighs clenching together and my nipples straining against my shirt?

Chapter 6

6pm gets here way, too quickly, I’m dressed in a fitted vintage Christian Dior black dress that’s mid-thigh length. Intricate lace is overlapping the silken material that accentuates my curves and defines my leg tone. Paired perfectly with Christian Dior three inch black peep toe shoes, I most certainly look incredible. With my hair cascading halfway down my back and a small amount of make-up, it’s enough to just amplify my classically stunning features.

The guards ring from the front to announce Jeremy’s arrival, I wait for him in my office as G puffs out his chest and goes to stand at the door, almost like an overprotective father.

I can only just make out the conversation between G and Jeremy as G leads him to my overgrown florist/office.

“You’re damn lucky she called you.” G teases Jeremy.

“Why wouldn’t she call me?” I can hear them getting closer to my office and I smile as G riles Jeremy up.

“Well let’s face it, Son, that limousine performance is nothing to be proud about.”

“What? She told you?” pure horror fills in his tone.

“She didn’t have to, the camera told me everything.”

“She taped it?!”

Jeremy pushes his way through my door.

“You damn well taped it?” He shrieks at me.

“No, it wasn’t that good that I want to watch it back. If you remember correctly, only one of us got a happy ending. There’re cameras in all the cars but rest assured, other than the three of us no one else knows, and I had it before it was deleted.”

“Why are there cameras in all your cars? You’re better guarded then the President.”

“I’m an entrepreneur, Jeremy, and I never know when some crazy person thinks they can take what I’ve worked for.”

Jeremy stands with his hands on his hips and his suit jacket flared back, exposing his very taut chest. My eyes travel the length of his body and I’m pleased that he fills his suit out so well. As I move around from my desk, Jeremy’s eyes rake over my body from top to toe, his shoulders relax and his arms drop unceremoniously by his side. His anger slowly dissolving as his eyes change from a hard steel grey to a thawed dusky silver. Want and lust now replace the fury and outrage he held as he was walking in.

“I realise that tonight’s only dinner, but you look so beautiful.”

“I know” I reply.

“Do you have to ruin every moment?”

“Watch it, Son.” G puts a hand on Jeremy’s shoulder, stopping Jeremy from saying anything further.

“We’re good, G, you can go.”

“You sure, Frank?”

“Definitely sure.” I give G a small nod as he leaves us in my office, and I lean back against my desk.

“So I piss you off?” I start this rather amusing conversation.

“You’re just so damn full of yourself.”

“You don’t like assertive women? You’d rather I was submissive, weak and insecure?”

“Not at all, it’s just you’re a hard bitch all the time, Frankie. You don’t have to be like that.”

“You don’t know a damn thing about me, Jeremy,” crossing my arms in front of my body, I’m putting an invisible barrier up between us.

“You’re right, I don’t; all I know is from the little we’ve interacted, you come across as a bitch.”

“Then why are you so desperate to make it up to me? Or are you trying to wangle your way in so you can attempt to destroy the public Frankie DeLuca that you think you know?”

“I’m just trying to start over again, I know who you are. I know what you do, I’m not an idiot but for some reason, which I can’t even explain to myself, I find you intriguing and when you aren’t being a bitch, I find you genuine. And in my life, genuine’s hard to come by.”

“When I’m not being a bitch? Senator I hate to tell you, but that’s all that I am.” I sneer and shake my head.

“I don’t believe it, Frankie. I think you like to push people away it’s easier for yourself not to become attached.”

“What the fuck are you talking about? Attached? Do you even know what that word means? What we have is nothing and it’ll remain to be nothing but a little bit of fun, if I’m lucky and you don’t come before I do.” I spit out in a disgusted and angry pitch.

“I’m digging my heels in. You want to be like that? I don’t care. You want to say whatever the hell you want to shock me? Again, I don’t care. You want to push all my damn buttons, I DON’T CARE.” He’s impeding on my personal space, the more he pushes me the more I want to tell him to go fuck himself but also, the more I want him to challenge me because I find it strangely erotic that he wants to put himself in that position. “So get your damn coat or bag or whatever the hell you’re going to bring and get that tight little arse out to my car.”

Jeremy leaves me in my office and walks down the hall towards the front door. I stand still for a moment and notice heat throbbing and excitement pools between my legs. My nipples go incredibly hard but my brain’s telling me that this man is nothing but trouble. Together, we’ll both be nothing but trouble. Together, we’ll both be explosive,
if he can get his cock under control.

Taking my jacket but leaving my bag behind, I slowly walk out to Jeremy’s car. In my driveway sits a convertible BMW little two door number. The look of horror must be very clear, I can feel my eyes widen, my mouth open and my nose scrunch up.

“Now you have a problem with my car?” He leans his arm across the passenger seat and raises one eyebrow at me.

“Seriously, Senator, you want me in that?” I point to the death trap.

“How do you want to get to where we’re going?”

I make it obvious that I’m not entirely impressed with him, by rolling my eyes and putting a hand on my hip.

“Get in the damn car, Frankie. Your security detail will be following us and if it’s about your hair I’ll put the roof up.”

Bastard, caught me out and almost bullied me into getting in the car with him. He presses a button and the top goes on while I’m still standing there looking at him.

“Get in the car,” he instructs again with a harder tone.

I don’t say anything; instead I slide in and clench my thighs together. I ignore him as he starts the car and I look out the window. A small smile plies my lips but I don’t dare show Jeremy that this banter’s something I’m quite enjoying and, damn, I find it sexy as hell.

Chapter 7

Jeremy drives with complete precision, slow enough so that my guys can keep up in the van but fast enough to give me a small thrill. He winds around the roads that leads us out of Boston about twenty minutes away to Mystic Lakes. He parks the car and comes around to open my door.

“For fuck sake, Senator, I’m wearing heels.”

“And I’m wearing a suit,” a cocky look crosses his face, challenging me with just that spunky grin.

“You want us to go for a walk, hold hands, talk sweetly and spill our feelings out about how all we want to do is rip each other’s clothes off and fuck, and then talk about the future, Senator? Cause if that’s what you expect from me then you have the wrong woman in mind. Picnics, butterflies, teddy bears and flowers are reserved for girls who have a heart. Neither do I have one, nor do I want one.”

“You’re one tough Mob Boss, Frankie, but seriously get out of the car and come and have a picnic with me. Take your damn shoes off, turn off the bitching and just enjoy what I’ve made for us.”

Still sitting in the car, I run my tongue along my top teeth eying Jeremy up and down. Damn prick, has me all turned on by his stupid challenging ways. I slip my shoes off and step out of the car refusing Jeremy’s hand to assist me out. He grins at me and steps back putting both his palms up in a resigning manner.
