Jason stood
d
ressed in a black tuxedo,
white shirt with
a red bowtie and handkerchief
in the
middle of the
gazebo, next to his best man, John, waiting for his wife to come down the
aisle.
He smiled and looked at the guests. His mom was in the front, wearing a red long dress with a bouncy Angel in her hands. Angel wore a red and white dress and white shoes, and her hair was pulled up in two pigtails. He threw her a kiss, and she threw one back, saying, “D

dy
.”
The music started playing, and his dad appeared at the end of the aisle, wearing a black tuxedo with a white shirt and a red bowtie. He looked toward the right,
and
he held his breath when he saw Kay
holding a white rose bouquet
.
She wore
an
ivory
silk
strapless dress with a
silk
red ribbon wrap
ped around her waist,
her hair
was
in a curly up do with twist
on the front
the way Jason liked it, the diamond studs in her ears and the
diamond tennis bracelet
she wore sparkled
.
The guests stood up, and Jason’s dad began walking Kay down the aisle to t
he love of her life. They gazed into each other’s eyes
, with
tears running down their faces. She finally reached the gazebo, touched his
cheek, and wiped the tears with her shaky hands
.
“I love you.”
He did the same
and whispered, “I love you
too
.
”
They never broke eye contact. He held her hands in his.
The pastor said a couple of words, a
nd
said.
“Jason and Kay
will be saying some words from their hearts
to be followed by traditional vows.”
Jason started by saying, “Kay, I know it’s only been a year
since we’ve been married
, but it seems like forever to me.
I knew from the moment I looked into those gorgeous brown eyes that you would change my life forever.
I’ve loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you
,
at
that library years ago
. My life was missing something before I met you, but now that I have you, I’m complete. You’re my soul mate
, doll eyes
. You’ve made me feel things that I’ve never felt before, and my heart belongs to you. I love you with all that’s in me, and I pledge my love and commitment to you. I promise to always love and protect you. I promise never to let anyone get between us. Thank you for being my best friend.”
A tear escaped his eyes,
Kay
cupped his face and wiped it away
, “Jason can you believe it?
” she smiled. “
We made it. What would I have done without you in my life? You’ve
always been there for me, being
my best friend, my love. I was blessed the day you walked into my life. It’s only been a year, but we’ve been through more than people who have been married for years. We overcame all the
tri
als that came our way, with
love, patience, and compassion. Jason, you are my rock when the world around m
e feels like quicksand. T
here are no words to tell you how much I love you. I love you, Jason, and promise to always be there. Thank you for being my best friend.”
Jason wiped her tears away and kissed her cheek. “I, Jason Anderson, take thee, Kay Anderson—” They smiled. “—To be my wife and before God and these witnesses, promise to be a faithful and true husband. In sickness and in health, in poverty or in wealth, 'til death do us part.”
Holding his hand, she said, “I, Kay Anderson, take thee, Jason Anderson, to be my husband and before God and these witnesses promise to be a faithful and true wife. In sickness and in health, in poverty or in wealth, 'til death do us part.”
The pastor said, “You may now kiss your bride.”
Jason cupped Kay’s face
, pulling her in and said,
“I love you,
”
and gently kissed her.
She stared into his baby blue eyes
.
“
I love you too.”
Everyone got up and clapped. Finally, they’d declared their love before God, family, and friends.
Jason and Kay p
icked up their daughter and kissed her chubby cheeks.
“Happy birthday our
Angel.”
They had all the ingredients for love.
