They all laughed as she turned a surprised smile in his direction.

“She would say one thing, but I knew she meant something else.  I felt as if I were on a line between heaven and hell.  If I reacted to what she was really thinking and feeling then she would have lost her respect for me.”

Melody took a seat as her face glowed red.  All the men smiled at her discomfort.

“I had to behave like the gentleman that I am, despite what she really wanted me to act like.  Your female will most likely behave the same erratic way, most females here do.”

Laughing loudly he continued, “I knew that the pheromones that my body was secreting during that time was causing a lot of her conflicting responses.  It causes an almost animal magnetism when you're with the bonding female.  Oh, and let me warn you, her pheromones, well, they will be driving you crazy as well.”

Jonathan settled down, sitting on top of the chair, “You will be feeling a hundred different emotions and picking up a thousand different signals, all at the same time.  If we weren't the great men that we are, we could easily take advantage of the situation.”

Melody was very uncomfortable now, not knowing what these men must think of her.  Mark had slipped around the group and had gotten her another cup of coffee.  He slid down into the seat next to her and pat her hand for comfort as he gave her the cup.  She gave him a look of thanks then turned back to listen to Jon, deciding she might learn a little something new too.

“Always remember that each of you are an Ambassador from our world.  That's vital!  Never behave in an unseemly manner.  When the two of you are alone, then you may relax some, but only if you're sure that she's giving you the correct signals.  Try your very best to control yourselves.  We are a proud race, we males have more control than any in the known galaxies.  She will break down these controls though, slowly, so be aware.”

“Melody is the epitome of an Earth Lady.  She conducted herself as such the entire time.  I felt her struggle.  She desired me, then feared me, then desired me again.  Many women don't have the fortitude to resist her feelings as well as Melody did.  If her reserves are depleted . . . then use your own!  She'll love and respect you for it.  Mel, am I right?” he asked as he got down and took her seat with Mark.

“I hate to admit it, but, he's one hundred percent correct.  There were times that I didn't trust myself with him.  He always was the perfect gentleman, well . . . almost always.  Because of that I knew that I was safe with him.  Oh, I knew that he was aroused with me and that made me feel special.  But, I also knew that he would never take advantage of my weaknesses.  He was and is so desirable to me I often struggle just to allow him some time for his work.”  This brought some loud whistles.

“There are some movies that most of the women that you will meet have grown up with.  They show the manliness that we seek in the man we marry.  They also will give you more input regarding the restraint that she expects out of him as well as the tenderness and compassion.”

“Before we start the first one, I'm going to warn all of you that tomorrow you will learn and see something you've never known about before.”  They were puzzled and eager to know what it was.  “You will view several women giving birth.”

She left their startled faces as Jon began telling them that he had a private collection of films that they could watch in the viewing room, alone if they preferred, later on.

“Jon, do you think they're ready for the birthing films?” Melody asked after supper that night.

Mark asked, “Do I have to watch them?”

“Especially you, Mark.”  Melody laughed at his green looking face.

“Well, I just hope that you'll provide plenty of barf bags!”  Then he stomped off.

“That's the reason he needs to see it in another light,”  Jonathan laughed with her.  “Mel, it was the most fascinating thing to watch my son being born, but when things took a turn for the worse it scared me to death.”

Melody saw that he had tears in his eyes.

“Come here baby,” he said to her as he pulled her into his lap.  “I'm so thankful that the two of you are all right.”  He held her as they both looked at David laying in the large basket sitting beside his chair.

“Jon, I forgot to tell you!  David's cutting a tooth!”

“He's only two months old!  I told you he was a special child,” Jonathan said reaching down to get him.

David laughed out loud at the tickles that his father gave him.  “Did you hear that?  He's laughing!  First he's cutting a tooth, now he's laughing.  He'll be grown before we know it Mel,” he said with a little sadness at the thought of him growing even quicker than normal.

Melody had chosen the birthing films carefully so they wouldn't be too gross.  Her favorite, followed a couple from the first office visits through the birth.  The men watched with mixed emotions.  It was as though they were viewing something forbidden, which it had been, yet they mostly enjoyed having this new knowledge.  No one needed barf bags.

“Well, gentlemen, what do you think?” Melody asked, looking at their questioning, subdued faces.

One man turned and asked Jon if they were permitted to question Melody about the pains and stuff.  Jon agreed.

They were totally stunned at the amount of discomfort giving birth caused.  They had also never seen a woman nurse a baby before, up close.  One asked her shyly if having a baby caused permanent damage to the woman's private parts.  She said that God made the female body to be able to recoup from the experience.

Another asked if sex would be painful then the next time the couple copulated.  She said that Jon was going to answer those questions that their son needed her.

As soon as she left Jonathan began teaching them ways to relieve a woman's discomfort and make her desire a man again.  They loved this part.  He shared with them as much as he dared.  He was to be their teaching master now but he felt a little uncomfortable with it, and he'd never tell all he knew except to Mark.

He finally invited all of them to come to his home for supper and for a swim in the pool or ocean.  They were thrilled!  They had their own quarters and pool as well as the ocean but none had ever been in Jonathan’s living quarters and they were curious.

“Mel, we're having the men from class for supper and swimming, do you mind?”

Melody was nursing David while sitting on the veranda.  “You know I don't mind.  That's a great idea, what made you decide to do it?”

“I kept thinking about the poor outside stimulation that they've had and felt that they needed to do more things.  They've almost become over heated robots.”  He laughed.  “They loved my talk.”

He kept laughing in spurts and saying repeatedly, “Yep, they loved it.  The poor devils!”

Melody didn't even ask, she knew that he had shared more ‘boy’ talk and was very pleased with himself.  He must have made a big impression on them.

CHAPTER EIGHT: MARK'S LOVE

Melody was putting David in the playpen with his toys when the door bell rang.  She yelled out to the staff that she'd get it.

She opened the door and was greeted with:

“Hi, Melody!  My trip got rearranged this morning, I tried to call but they said that you were giving a seminar or something.”  It was Mary.  “I know this isn't the right time so I'm staying at the Marriott.  I'm so excited I just couldn't wait to see you!”

“Mary!”  Melody hugged her with genuine joy, “You look fantastic!  Come in, and you're not staying at the Marriott, your room has been ready since the day you called!”

Neither could believe their eyes, they looked the same just more mature and shapelier.  Mary still had her long blond hair but her fair skin had gotten as dark as Melody's had.

“Mel, you are the one who looks absolutely fantastic!  How did you ever get that tan?  Where's the baby and that fabulous Jonathan you told me about!”  She was just bubbling over with questions and excitement.

“Let's go see David.  Jonathan won't be fair behind unless he's working in the labs again,” Melody said leading her through the house.

“Melody, sweetie, this is the most gorgeous house I have ever seen.  You did all the decorating yourself?”  Mary was truly surprised that Melody was so talented.

Jonathan and Mark came walking out from the den with Mark holding David.  They stopped in their tracks when they saw the two beautiful women walking their way.

“There's my Jonathan, the one without the baby.  Mark and Jon, let me introduce you both to my dearest and oldest friend, Mary.”

“Oldest, uh?  Thanks, Mel!”  But she was laughing as she extended her hand to greet Jon and Mark.  Both were almost speechless.

“Mark, let me have David,” Melody said.

He immediately passed him over to her, barely taking his eyes off Mary while he did so.

“Mary is it?” Mark asked when his arms were finally freed as he lifted her hand and kissed it.

“Yes, it's Mary.  And I believe Mel said that your name is Mark?”  She was instantly flattered by the surprising graciousness of the hand kiss.

“Yeah, Mark's my name . . . forgive my staring, but Melody didn't let me know that she had such a beautiful woman coming by.”

“Well, thank you for the compliment, but Mel had no idea that I would be here today.  I didn't either.  My agency had to change my vacation plans at the last minute to get me here in
Florida
in time for a fashion show tomorrow.”

Melody saw that Jon was thinking the same thing as she was.  They looked like they were meant for each other.  It was in the eyes, Jon would call it ‘the Bonding-look’.

Mary finally turned to Melody again with her eyes shining brightly and said, “That has got to be little David!  Melody, I thought you said that he's two months old?  Why, he's a big boy!  May I hold him?”

“Sure,” Melody said as she put him in Mary's arms.  “He's growing faster than most boys his age would.  It's a gene thing that Jonathan and Mark have.  He'll mature much quicker than we consider normal.  He's already cutting a tooth Mary!”

“Melody, he's absolutely the most perfect baby in the world!”  Mary was instantly taken by him.  David gave her his beautiful smile and laughed as she played with him.

“Mary, where are my manners?  Would you like a drink or a cup of coffee?  I'm also sure you must be tired from your flight, let's sit and gab a little while then I'll take you up to your room.”  Melody started walking her toward the veranda.  Turning she saw that Jon and Mark were following them.  She motioned with her hand behind her for them to go away, but they didn't seem to understand what she was meaning.

She finally turned around to the men and asked, “Jon, would you and Mark get all of us a coconut colada?  Bring them out yourselves and sit with us on the veranda.”

Now the men understood, she wanted a few minutes alone with her for some reason.

“Sure Mel, do you want me to take David?” Jonathan asked.

Mary answered quickly, “He's just fine Jonathan.  I love babies,” then laughed, “as long as they're someone else's.”  She turned back and started walking with Melody.

The men overheard Mel ask her, “Mary, you don't really mean that, do you?”  They lingered in the hallway long enough to listen to her response.

“Melody, the thought of having children is all right, it's the pain that I'm terrified of enduring.  He'd have to be one heck of an Angel man for me to have children.  How did you stand it?  Did you have them knock you out or what?”

“No, Mary.”  Melody got them seated at one of the smaller tables on the rear patio.  “It's not as bad as you may think.  And Mary, when the right man comes along, you will do anything to make him happy.”

Mary looked to make sure that no one was coming outside, then she stated, “Melody, those are the two most gorgeous hunks of male flesh that I have seen.  You lucky dog!  Why didn't you tell me that Jonathan had such a handsome friend?  Mel, please don't tell me he's married!”

Melody grinned at the enthusiasm of her friend.  “No, he's not married yet, but there are some women going after him.  He feels that they just aren't the right ones for him.  I'll give him credit, he has high standards, but then again, he has a lot to offer.  He's first cousin to a Prince and he's always lived in a Royal household.”

“Don't tell me he's also rich?”

“Well, in a way.  He's Jonathan's First in Command.  He's not a billionaire but he has enough money to do whatever he pleases within reasonable limits.”

“What do you mean he's Jonathan's First in Command?  What is Jonathan a Duke or something?” she asked bewildered.

“Jonathan is a Prince.  Mark and Jon have always been best friends,” Melody said simply.

“A what?!  Melody when you keep secrets, you do a good job!”  She sat back to think about that one.

The men came out about thirty seconds later.  Melody knew they had to have been listening.  They were worse than the aunts about being nosey.

“Here we go ladies,” Jonathan said as they brought out the pitcher and glasses on a serving tray.

Just as they were getting settled the chef called and asked if he could speak with them.  He came out to ask about the menu for tonight.  Melody had forgotten that twenty extra men were going to be there.  She turned to Mary and asked if she had any preferences.

“None.  Mel, since you are already having company . . . .”

Melody interrupted her, “We will not eat unless you're here with us.”  The two men both heartily agreed.

“Okay, that's settled,” Melody stated.  Looking up at the chef she suggested, “How about broiled flounder with shrimp and scallop stuffing?  Then Caesar salad, fruit compote, green beans almondine and butternut squash soup.  You can pick out the rest.”

They all talked and laughed about the childhood pranks that Mary and Melody did together.  They have known each other since the second grade, then lost touch when Mary's family moved when they were both almost seventeen.  Mary had started to tell a story about one of Melody's dates then Mel kicked her under the table.        “Oh, Mel it wasn't that bad!  Besides, you didn't do anything wrong.  He just scared you to death when he tried to French kiss you!”  Mary's eyes were blinded with tears from laughing so hard.

“What happened?  Melody didn't tell us this one,” Jonathan asked looking mildly amused.

“Well, we were on a double date.  Melody was out with this guy that she didn't really care for, but he had the hot's for her.”

Jonathan was now listening attentively, smiling.

“What was his name Mel?” Mary asked.

“I have no idea, Mary.  It really isn't a story worth repeating,” Melody said as she tried to kick her harder, but Mary had purposely moved her leg.

“The boys had taken us to the lake, at night.  We both were so gullible.  They had picked up a couple of pizza's and some cold drinks.  That was supposed to be our
big
date.  Well, we went swimming and played around in the water for a while.  When we looked back at the car they had spread blankets out.  One on each side of the car.”  Her face got serious.

“We thought that we could handle these guys, you know?  We used to think that together we were invincible, because we looked out for one another.  But, these guys were older and had apparently handled country girls like us before.”

“Mel and I got scared when they immediately started getting fresh.  Not forceful, just fresh.  The things that they were saying, not doing was terrifying us both.  They threatened to leave us there in the woods if we didn't sit back down with them.  Well, being the proper ladies that we were, but afraid to be left out in the dark woods alone, we agreed to if they would put the blankets together.  They did.  They weren't as bad as they were acting.  I kind’a got to like the guy I was with.  He ended up being very nice once they saw that we were so frightened.  Anyway, Mel jumped up and grabbed my arm, actually dragging me into the woods.”

Melody tried one last time to interrupt her but Jonathan knew her tricks and got up behind her laughing as he put his hand over Mel's mouth.

“Then what happened, Mary?” Jon asked.

Mary started laughing again, looking at Mel face with Jonathan's big hand over her mouth like a child.

“Melody was shaking all over!  She said, ‘Mary that guy tried to stick his tongue in my mouth!  What should I do?’”

Mary doubled over with laughter, “I said, the next time he does it, bite it!  I didn't know anything else to tell her!  Well, I finally got her to go back so we could get them to carry us home.  My date was packing up the blankets when I heard the other boy scream.  He came running around to the back of the car where we were standing and his lip was split and bleeding.  The whole time we were trying to stop the bleeding Melody kept pacing back and forth beside the car.  The boy refused to say what happened and also refused to allow Mel near him.”

“When we finally got home I asked her what had happened.  She said that he had done it again, but that she jerked her head back and bit through his lip instead.  Anyway, a year later his friend told me that Mel had ruined the boy for life!  He would never French kiss a girl again.”

She continued to laugh with Mark and Jon when she said, “Mel was then a target for every boy to try to conquer.  Jonathan, I only hope that she hasn't bitten you?”

He removed his hand from Melody's mouth.  “No, as a matter of fact, I think that I was her final conqueror.  She's quite tame now.”
