She’s not going to rush me tonight.  We have no
place else to be and we have all night to enjoy one another.
I let go
of her arms so that my hands could cup her breasts.  As I squeezed, I began
to lengthen my strokes just a bit, which Kate seemed to enjoy.  My hands
worked their way down the length of her body and came to rest on her
well-muscled thighs.  I felt a sudden jolt of lust, which I always blamed
on the testosterone.  It caused me to abandon her thighs and grab the
sides of her hips instead.

As I looked forward into the mirror, I saw the sexiest
facial expression on her face.  Her eyes were closed and she had become
more vocal.  Each time I lifted her hips, she continued to use her muscles
to grip me tight.
That feels so fucking amazing!
I was
almost disappointed when I felt myself losing control, but I decided instead to
let her have everything I had.

“Oh god, like that!” she exclaimed, as I thrust deep into
her before retreating all of the way to the tip.

I continued to lift her hips as far as possible without
losing her and then thrusting as deeply as I could.  Sensing the approach
of my climax, Kate once again grabbed onto my thighs and took control of the
pace.  She always had a knack for taking over the action as soon as she
sensed any vulnerability on my part.  She continued to pound me as I
struggled to maintain control.  I let out a loud groan hoping she would
take it as an indication to lighten up a bit… she didn’t.

Kate

Jack was so good at getting me completely sexually charged,
that it often made it hard for me to maintain control of myself.  I knew
Jack had reached his limit, but I wasn’t quite there, so I continued to lift my
hips and thrust down upon him.  After several more strokes, I reached my
release and almost instantly realized something was terribly wrong.  Jack
hadn’t said a word, but he had let go of my hips, and seemed to be struggling
to catch his breath.

“What’s wrong?  Are you okay?” I asked him as I
immediately swung around.  He had the worst look on his face and was white
as a sheet.  I knew right away that something was incredibly wrong.
I pulled him over to the edge of the tub so he could sit on the step.

“I’m going to call 911,” I said as I hastily began to exit
the water.

“Just wait a second,” Jack gasped as he grabbed my
arm.  “Just sit down for a second. This should pass.  It’s just an
episode of tachycardia.”

“It’s what?” I asked as he continued to struggle and then
began to cough.

“My heart rhythm gets messed up.  It usually
straightens out on its own,” he explained as he continued to have a series of
harsh coughs.

As we sat there, the color slowly began to come back in his
face.  “Is it getting better?”

“Yeah, it’s straightening out.  Hand me a towel and
let’s go back to the bed.”  After helping Jack out of the bath, I went to
the bedroom and propped up some pillows for him.

“That’s perfect,” he said as he eased onto the bed and laid
back.

Holy shit that freaked me out.  I thought he was having
a heart attack.
It was then that I realized the extent of Jack’s
heart condition.  That day he stumbled out of the shower, I had a bad
feeling about how long it took him to recover, but he had made it seem as if
nothing was wrong.
What if something would’ve happened to him
while we were having sex?  I would’ve never forgiven myself.

Chapter 8 – Wrapping Up Things in NYC

Jack

Son of a bitch….  This is exactly what I wanted to
avoid.

Nothing ruins your sex life faster than a partner who is
worried about your heart condition.
After having my first bad attack
of tachycardia about a decade ago, Eva always seemed pre-occupied while we were
having sex.  She wouldn’t admit it, but I knew that she always worried
about over-stimulating me and causing issues with my heart.  I really
wanted to avoid having the same situation with Kate.
I should’ve been
a little more careful.

“Was this the same thing that happened in the shower a few
weeks ago?” Kate asked with a look of concern.

“Yes, it happens once in a while,” I replied trying to be
nonchalant.

“I’m sorry,” she said with a look of remorse.  “We’re
going to have to be more careful in the future.”

“No.  It’s usually brought on by stress, not from
having sex,” I tried to explain.

“Well, I don’t think you were stressed in the Jacuzzi.
The only stress was on this thing,” she teased, running her fingertips along
the top of my dick.

“Well, it’s definitely relaxed now,” I replied giving her a
sad smile.

My heart sank as I realized that our days of fun-filled,
exciting sex had probably come to an end.  It made me angry and even more
anxious to find a miracle cure
.  I’m going to do whatever it takes to
get my heart healthy again.  I’m too damn young to be slowed down by
something like this.  I don’t care what it takes or how much it costs.

As I went to sleep that night, I began to focus on my heart
becoming healthy.  At the time, I wasn’t sure if it would be stem cells, a
transplant, or something completely different that would turn around my
situation.  Therefore, I simply chose to focus on my heart becoming
healthier.  As it turned out, it was the beginning of a very interesting
journey.

“What would you like for breakfast?” was the next thing I
heard.

“Wow, what time is it?”

“7:45,” Kate replied. “You were out cold.  Are you
feeling alright?”

“Yeah, I feel really good actually.  I’m going to have
a 3 egg white spinach omelet and black coffee.”

“Really… That’s a change from the smoked Gouda and truffle
version,” Kate teased.

“I’m going to get healthy, Kate.  I’m tired of dealing
with heart issues.”

“That’s awesome,” Kate said, taking a seat next to me on the
bed.

“I want to be here for you, my kids, and grandkids.
I’ve decided I’m going to live to be 93.”

“Really, you randomly chose the number 93?” she said in a
doubtful tone.

“It’s not random.  I have a great uncle that lived to
be 92.  He set the record for longevity in my entire family tree.
I’m going to set a new record, so you don’t have to worry about me checking out
early.”

“I’m all for that, I would be 66,” she said with a big
smile.

Wow, she’s cute and quick at math.

“Yeah, at that point you could just move into a retirement
community and hang out with the other old maids,” I suggested.

“Naw, I’d rather stay at home and get a cute pool boy,” she
countered, slapping me on the stomach.

After a healthy
flavorless
breakfast, we met the
others back at the conference room and pounded through another day of
details.  The pace was just as productive as it had been the previous day,
but Kate was very quiet.  It seemed as if her mind was a million miles
away from what we were working on.  I’m sure she was still pre-occupied
with my little episode.
She really doesn’t have to worry, getting
healthy is going to be my sole focus in the coming months.  I’m going to
treat it like the greatest challenge of my life and I will succeed.
I
thought about how I had neglected my health over the past few years, but I knew
that it was completely possible to regenerate my body and feel good again.
All I need is some discipline and determination.

As we took a break for lunch, Jayne pulled me aside to talk
about stem cell therapy.  “The government in the Bahamas is still in the
process of framing legislation to regulate Stem Cell therapy down there.
You should wait to see what happens before doing anything.”

“I know what’s going on down there.  Peter knows
several of the doctors who have opened up clinics, so he’s briefed me on who is
the best.”

“So you trust a fellow fashion guru more than your
cardiologist?”

“Just relax and let me explore my options.  As always,
I’m going to follow my gut.  If something feels right, I’ll do it.
If it feels wrong, I’ll go in a different direction.  Before I do
anything, I’ll talk to you and Brandon about it, alright?”

“I just don’t want you to do something desperate because of
Kate….”

“Whatever I do, will be for me and for all of you,” I
replied cutting her off in mid-sentence.  “I want to see both you and
Brandon get married and I would like to know my grandchildren.  They will
never get to meet their grandmother, but I would like to be around for them.”

“I’m sorry; I just don’t want you to do something rash
because of a much younger girlfriend.”

“You are so much like your grandmother in that way.
You always have everyone else figured out, don’t you?”

“Probably not, but I try,” she admitted giving me her puppy
dog eyes.

After giving Jayne a hug and some reassurance, I excused
myself from the group.  They were all debating on what to order for lunch,
so I took a walk down to Juice Generation.  I couldn’t wait to see the
look on everyone’s faces when I came back with a Very Green Juice for
lunch.
This stuff actually tastes quite a bit better than it
looks.  I can handle having this for lunch.  I’ll have to talk to
Carla and see if she or Chef Jameson can make these for me onboard the ship.

Kate

No matter how much I tried to focus on the business at hand,
my mind was just not into it.
I realize all of these details are
important, but they seem pretty insignificant at the moment.  I’m really
glad that Jack and Brandon are here to go through all of this with
Brenda.  I wouldn’t think of half of these things if I were trying to do
it on my own.  I’m a creative designer, not a detail oriented business
manager.  This is exactly why I didn’t want to be involved in day to day
operations.  I sure hope the stem cell therapy works for Jack.

I heard Jack’s voice coming from the hallway, so I went out
to meet him.  He had his back to me and by the tone in his voice, it
sounded like he was having a very intense discussion.

“I trust you, Anthony.  You know exactly how to deal
with them, so just work your magic, buddy.  I want them out of my hair
now.  I’m tired of this bullshit.”

I immediately knew that it was a conversation that I should
not have overheard.  I ducked into the ladies’ room and spent the next few
minutes stalling.
I can’t believe Jack is talking about something like
this in the hallway.  What is he thinking?
  After everything fell
silent for a minute or two, I walked out pretending that nothing had
happened.  Now the only commotion was coming from the conference room.

“Check out what Dad’s drinking.” Brandon laughed as we met
each other in the doorway.

“Is that green juice?” I asked, not really believing what I
was seeing.

“Yeah, it’s not bad,” he replied while taking a swig.

“You are just full of surprises today,” I added, feeling
bewildered by all the strange events taking place.

First, he has an egg white and spinach omelet for
breakfast.  Then, he goes to get a green juice for lunch while having a
conversation with some kind of hit-man in a public hallway.  Next, he’ll
actually want to go to Maoz for dinner, and we’ll be meeting a guy who
resembles Tony Soprano.

If I thought that I had been distracted in our morning
session, it was nothing compared to the afternoon.  I could just as well
have been somewhere else because my brain kept processing what he had been
talking about in the hallway.
Am I about to discover another layer of
Jack Ryker?

Jack’s phone buzzed several times during the next hour and a
half.  Each time he would excuse himself from the room to take the
call.  He wasn’t talking loudly enough for any of us to hear his
conversations, so we all sat there a little confused.  It wasn’t like Jack
to take phone calls during a business meeting.  He had always made it
clear that it was one of his major pet peeves.
The strangeness of this
day continues to build.

“Alright, I’m tired of this conference room and it’s snowing
again,” Jack announced upon returning from his last phone call.  “Our
plane leaves for Puerto Rico at 8pm.  Does anyone have an objection to
finishing up these meetings on the yacht?”

“Not at all,” Brandon answered immediately rising out of his
chair.

“I don’t have clothes for that,” Brenda replied, looking a
tad shocked.

“You have several hours to kill.  I’ll ask Tim to take
you to Saks.  Just ask for Sheri and she’ll help you find whatever you
need.  I’ll let her know to put it on my account,” Jack replied with a
wave of his hand.

“Wow, thanks, Jack,” she said still looking a little
surprised by the sudden turn of events.  Brenda was a single mother of two
grown children, so she simply sent them a text to let them know that her trip
had been extended through the weekend.  She bristled with excitement as
she sent a series of messages to her family and friends.

“Jayne and Brandon, you go get packed.  We’ll swing by
to pick you up between 6 and 6:30.  We’re taking off from the heliport on
West 30
th
because traffic will be a nightmare about that time,” he
instructed.

He must have been reading my mind.  There is nothing
I want more than to get out of the city.
  My phone had buzzed twice
while we were in our afternoon meeting.  It was during Mom’s normal break
time, so I knew without even looking that it was her.
I better call
her before we leave or she’s only going to get more pissed off.

“What’s wrong Kate?” Jack asked as we began to walk toward
the St. Regis.

“I just have a lot on my mind I guess.”

“Anything I can help you with?”

“Sure.  Do you want to talk to my mother?”

“I do.  Give me your phone.”

Really?  This should be interesting.

“Hi, Cynthia. It’s Jack, actually,” he said giving me a wink.  I could
hear my mother’s voice on the other end despite the fact that I was on the
other side of Jack.

“Yes, I understand your embarrassment, Cynthia.  But
it’s not just a fling.  I have honestly fallen in love with your daughter
over the past month.”

Once again, I clearly heard her voice as Jack had to pull
the phone away from his ear.

“She never dated Brandon, Cynthia.  She just made that
up to cover for the fact that she was dating me.  I’m sorry… I can see how
disturbing that would be for you.”

Ah shit… I never should’ve lied
.

Jack kept his calm as he continued to be verbally assaulted
by my mother.  She was definitely giving him an earful of something.
All he said for the next minute or two was “aha” and “yes, I understand.”

When she had finally exhausted herself, Jack replied, “That
was a long time ago Cynthia.  You know how much I’ve changed since
then.  I was married for almost 30 years and I was
completely
faithful.  You have my word, Cynthia; my feelings are 100% genuine.”

A tingle went down my spine as I heard the words come out of
his mouth
.  If only dad would find out about us, that would completely
make my day.  He would be so pissed, especially since he’s never liked
Jack.  If that son of a bitch ever tries to contact me, I’ll totally
ignore his ass.  Karma’s a bitch, Dad.

“Okay, she’s definitely not onboard yet.” He sighed as he
handed me back my phone.

My phone immediately buzzed once again as she had sent me a
text message:

Mom:  We still need to talk, Kate.

Me:  K. I’ll call you later.

I was glad that Jack had borne the brunt of the first
conversation with her.
She’ll mellow out a bit now and then I’ll be
able to have a civil discussion with her.  I’m still curious about whether
or not they have more history than they have admitted to me.  Honestly
though, I probably don’t want to know.

Jack

Everyone was all smiles as we boarded the new plane at
LaGuardia.  My smile broadened as I caught a glimpse of them loading the
boxes of Waygu beef from DeBragga into the cargo hold.
If I have to
limit my intake of rich foods, I’m going to make the most of it.
  My
stomach rumbled at the thought of one of those juicy steaks.
I’m sure
Chef Jameson will appreciate them as much as I do.

“Nice plane,” Jayne said as she looked around.  “It
smells new.”

“Yes,” I replied, “It’s the new G650.  They wanted me
to take it for a test flight.”

“I’ve read that it’s the best private jet that $65 million
can buy,” Brandon added with a laugh.

“I haven’t bought it, but from what Captain Chuck and the
rep tell me, it’s an incredible plane.  It has a top speed of 610 mph and
can fly all the way to Beijing without stopping for fuel.”

“Amazing,” Brenda said as she looked around the cabin for a
good seat.

The only one who didn’t have much to say about the new plane
was Kate.  It seemed as if the phone call from her mother was still
bothering her.

“Why don’t you go in back and give Cynthia a call.  It
will make you feel better.”

“That’s not what’s bothering me Jack,” she replied with a
spark in her eyes.

“Did you want to stay in the city?”
