Trent nodded. “They had no legal grounds to fire me, but after that I wasn’t about to work there.”

“Right. I wouldn’t have either.”

“Jackson obviously had a grudge and he wanted to get back at me…and he did. I thought it was over. But then he sent his new bride to beg me for the money back.”

“Oh…?” She had not heard this side of the story.

“I believed her when she said Jackson had made a mistake that night in playing with professionals. I thought it was a joke. I actually laughed. What man would send his wife to ask the opponent he lost to for his money back?”

“He could have come over himself,” Zaira agreed.

“Exactly. I made no physical threats after being forced to resign so I couldn’t imagine why Jackson wouldn’t just admit his mistakes anyway. I told his wife to send her husband to see me. A few days went by and nothing happened so I went back to the country club where I won the money and asked for Jackson’s contact information. They handed me an old business card and that’s when they informed me that the place had gone into foreclosure. By that time, I had every intention of giving the money back. People run into hard times and take drastic measures. I come from that lifestyle, so I understood.”

“So did you call him?” she asked.

“When I got home that evening there were clippings of my father being indicted, standing trial, and being sent to prison. There was a nice little note on it accusing me of being a cheater on the card table. At first, the whole thing amused me. I have been called worst in my lifetime. But right then and there, I vowed to stop playing tag with him and put the bitch tactics to bed. I figured that if Jackson wanted his money, he’d eventually come to me like a man.”

“And then?”

“His wife came by for a visit one night. She said she wasn’t there on behalf of Jackson or for the money. She came right out and told me Jackson had sold her wedding ring, put her out, and that she hadn’t had sex in while,” Trent replied.

“And that’s when you started sleeping with her, right?”

Trent nodded. “He followed her over to my house the second time. When he found us, he caused a scene. The neighbors heard and leaked all of the information.”

“Wow…” Zaira breathed.

“So when you tell me that you want to know the good, bad, and ugly…there it is. That’s what happened and how I came to break up a marriage.”

She lay still against him, listening to his heart beat for a few minutes. “Did you like her?”

“It was sex, Zaira. Nothing new for me. Just sex.”

“What about me, Trent? What’s this to you?”

This time he turned completely and stroked her temple with the soft side of his thumb while searching deeply into her gaze. “I have so much to learn and I’m working on that, but I’m no dummy. I know your worth and you mean everything to me. I never want to fold again with you. My best hand was dealt to me the moment you walked into my life and I won’t give it up for anything—not anyone, and not anything. Ever again.”

“You’re sweet.” She brought his face close to hers and kissed his lips.

He kissed her back. “Only because I have the taste of you on my lips.”

She smiled. “I meant your words, silly.”

He moaned as he pressed his lips against the delicate curvature of her neck. “Those weren’t just words, Zaira. That was a declaration straight from my heart.”

Chapter Thirteen

When Monday rolled around after the eventful weekend, Zaira was literally floating on air. She could barely focus on her work as the minutes turned into hours and finally it was time to put her work assignments aside to meet up with Trent to handle Svelte business. There was no mistaking that she’d loved Trent before as a friend, but now she couldn’t help to think that maybe, just maybe, she was actually falling for him.

What she was about to do would confirm that she was, in fact, crazy for Trent, crazy about Trent, and would do anything for Trent.

Zaira stepped off of the elevator and glided right past the night cleaning crew to reach the other end of the hall. When she reached Trent’s door, he looked up from a mountain of paperwork and cracked the biggest grin that ended up being contagious.

He dropped his pen down on the desk and sat back in his chair. “Hey Beautiful.”

“Hi.” She pulled the door closed behind her and locked it.

“I thought you changed your mind about working today. Neither of us got much sleep last night.”

She bit the inside corner of her lip and a vivid image of them in the shower together came back to her. Warmth shot up through her legs, as she put her suitcase on the table next to the door. “About last night, we did get a little out of hand. My neighbors were giving me strange looks when I went down to the lobby this morning.”

“If you thought we got outta hand last night…” he teased. “…wait until I get you home tonight.”

“Why wait until tonight?” Zaira tugged her long dress coat open and let the garment drop to the floor, revealing a white mini dress that fit all her curves like a second skin.

“Baby,” Trent groaned and his eyes widened in disbelief. While he kept his gaze fixed to her, his fingers scurried over his desk until it came in contact with a little remote. He pushed one button and the shades folded down, covering the floor to ceiling windows that looked out over the interstate.

Day would soon fold into evening and the room was literally pitch black, but she made her way over to his desk anyway. She walked behind it where he was seated, pulled him by the tie, and leaned over to kiss him.

“Are you for real?” he whispered between kisses.

“Just shut up.” She pressed his fingers to his lips and fumbled with his belt buckle to jostle it open.

Trent was rock hard before she managed to slip his cock through the opening of his boxer briefs. She wrapped her fingers around him, admiring how his thick veins pulsed against the leathery skin. She took him in her mouth, relishing the distinct taste of precum on her tongue. His groans and the way he gripped her hair into his fists turned her on even more.

Zaira knew the way he liked it. She knew exactly what rhythm and pressure he enjoyed the most. She took him over and over again to the back of her throat, until he was breathing heavy with anticipation. He wouldn’t come just yet because she wanted him inside of her for that.

“I couldn’t stop thinking about this.” She licked up and down his shaft. “I wanted to touch myself so many times today, but I knew it wouldn’t be the same without you.”

“Oh, my God,” he rasped when the tip of her tongue teased the head of his cock.

“I couldn’t wait,” she whispered.

Trent rose from the chair, surprising her. The force of his body pushed her against the desk. He hoisted her onto it and kissed her with such heat and passion, a blaze erupted around them.

A gasp emanated from him the moment his fingers reached her pelvis and he found out that she wore no panties under the dress. He pulled from the kiss and looked at her with curiosity.

“You kept ripping them,” she said.

Trent chuckled devilishly and knelt on the floor in front of her, propping her legs up on his shoulders. The moment his mouth came in contact with her pussy, her muscles grew lax and her stilettos slipped from her feet and fell to the floor with a thud.

Zaira bit into her bottom lip as he tested her limits, pulling her pussy toward his hungry mouth and devouring her like ice cream. She held onto his silky strands and succumbed to him completely, thrusting forward against his mouth. He encouraged her, sliding his palms under her ass and burying his lips deep into her pussy. He glided two fingers into her and sucked on her clit. His strokes were gentle but effective and soon she was whimpering under his sexual hold. Pleasure rocked her and she nearly bucked off the desk. She must have been good and ready because she’d never had an orgasm so quickly in her life.

Trent picked her up and walked them over to the adjacent end of the room. He let his pants fall to the floor and held her back against the wall. She wrapped her legs around his waist and slid her pussy against his cock. Hooking his palms under her knees, he held her open and entered her without warning. He kissed her, swallowing her cries as he pummeled deep within her. Her body quaked intensely against his body and against the wall as a second climax tore through her.

“Yes, that’s it. Come for me, beautiful,” he whispered.

She bit into his shoulder and dug her nails into his back, riding her orgasm out to the end.

Trent jerked a door open beside them. It was a closet with a few jackets and dress shirts hanging overhead. He backed her inside.

His bare erection strained against her ass, so it was plain to see that he wasn’t done with her yet. The kisses he pressed to the back of her neck sent tingles racing down her spine. He shoved the garments to one side and led her hands to the metal bar. Taking the hint, she gripped the bar tight and he hoisted her upward.

Zaira pushed her ass up against his cock, asking for more. This time when he entered her, she cried out in the small space.

He pounded up and into her from behind. It seemed like her center of gravity was off and all of her feelings gathered in one place—her sex. His balls slapped against her ass and labia as he beat into her over and over again.

“Oh Trent…” Another climax nearly split her in half sending her higher into imaginary clouds.

He groaned savagely at the same time heat shot up into her. The next dozen thrusts came with no rhythm, form, or fashion this time as he released his seed into her and fought to hold himself steady on both feet. Even her palms became slippery against the bars as her essence spilled not only from her pussy, but from her pores as well.

They collapsed on the floor together when it was all over.

“Jesus Christ,”
she mumbled. Her insides were on fire and her lungs burned even more.

He chuckled and kissed her. “If I had known you were going to make me put in work today like that, I would have taken a break before you stopped by.”

She lay her head back against his chest. “I’ll give you a heads up next time.”
