Vlad licked his lips, and then he gave in. “You do this to  yourself.”

He went in for the bite quickly, and Andrew gasped as the sharp  pain punctured his skin, and then all he felt once more was pleasure.

Chapter Four

Vlad would have to buy them one more night together, and if the werewolf was to survive the foolishness he’d signed himself up for,  Vlad would also have to find a way to convince Boris that Andrew was merely another human feeder.

It wasn’t uncommon for vampires to have sex with the feeders, and though Boris was possessive to the point of obsession, he was the kind of hypocrite who would fuck anything with legs. Lord Boris  Dragunov had expressly forbid Vlad from having any kind of affairs during their engagement, and at first Vlad had complied.

They were to be joined in matrimony to help bring their families together. A little loyalty was to be expected.

But then Vlad had caught Boris with another man, and then another woman, and then two more men, both at the same time.

Vlad had been furious, and Boris’s attitude over the entire thing had just served to anger him even more.

When Vlad went to his brother about the matter and demanded he

call off their joining, King Markus had blatantly told him that it was  out of the question.

Only then had Vlad come to the realization that he was stuck.  He’d always known that his brothers didn’t hold very high esteem for  him, but he never thought he would be sold like he was.

So he retaliated. If Boris was to have a lover and then throw his

violent tantrums when Vlad objected, then Vlad would take his

comfort wherever he could.

The only reason why he chose a werewolf was because Boris hated them, and he wanted to add his own private insult to the matter,

but also because Vlad had been certain that once the deed had been

done, the were would go running back to his pack.

Instead, the damn wolf was swearing loyalty to him. It was sheer  madness, and Vlad was strangely touched by it.

“If anyone should ask you, you are simply my feeder and personal  servant.” He certainly now had the bite mark to back up such a claim,  and Vlad would have to take more of that delicious blood soon.

Andrew nodded. “Got it. No one will, uh, try and…”

Vlad couldn’t help the heat that rushed to his cheeks. “If any member of the lower ranks of guards should attempt something, I will not allow it. None in my family, nor will Lord Boris, touch you. They wouldn’t lower themselves like that.”

“Thanks a lot,” Andrew said, dryly.

Vlad’s face became even hotter. Damn this wolf! He was not used

to being spoken to like this. “I apologize for the offence, but it is true  regardless. Vampire royalty hold themselves in the highest regard.  They will believe that bedding a werewolf will be beneath them and  crude.”

“Then why did you do it?”

Vlad did not much feel like going into the specifics on that one. “I  did not expect you to wish to stay after everything had been done.”

Andrew gave him the strangest look Vlad had ever seen on  another man. “I’ll always go where you go.”

Odd. Very, very odd. Though, whether Vlad was thinking of that  flutter within his belly or Andrew’s words, he did not know.

He cleared his throat. “I will attempt to give us another night and  day alone together, but after that I must return to my family.”

“And where are they?” For the first time, Andrew appeared a little  green about the gills. The poor man was not looking forward to  leaving his home.

“I live in this state, but several hours from here. Where my family  currently resides is not far from here. A private cabin on one of the  many lakes was purchased for our vacation while the transaction is

being made.”

“Transaction?”

Vlad had meant the transaction between his brother and Boris for

his hand . “Nothing.”

“And what about the guards outside?” Andrew jerked his thumb  to the heavy oak door.

“They work for me,” Vlad said, pulling his phone from his  discarded pocket and pulling up Markus’s personal number. “They  shall cause no problems.

Stelig was the kind of vampire who liked to think of himself as loyal. The kind of vampire worthy of notice and reward. He liked  Lord Vlad, he really did, despite the fact that he was simply a lower royal, and that serving him wasn’t exactly the honor that serving King  Markus Belekoff would be.

And that was why he could take no more of this, and he called the king himself to let him know about what his youngest brother was doing with a werewolf of all creatures.

Naturally, Stelig didn’t have the king’s personal number, and so he had to leave a message with the secretary who took calls from commoners, but that would have to be good enough.

Stelig introduced himself as a guard to Prince Vladimir with information that the king might find troubling. Something like that was sure to get the king’s notice, and Stelig for damn sure didn’t elaborate when that stupid female on the other side of the line had tried to make him give her the details.

He wasn’t about to let her go to the king with this kind of information and take all of his glory. After telling the king about the affair, Prince Vladimir was sure to be punished, but then Stelig would be rewarded. He would be given a more honorable position, better pay, and more time for his family.

“What are you doing?”

Stelig set his phone to vibrate and quickly let it slip back into his  pocket. Dominic was a young vampire, only about fifty years old or  so, yet he was much more loyal to Prince Vladimir, despite the lower  position, for reasons Stelig couldn’t comprehend.

He did not want the other man knowing that he’d just sent a call to  the king. The prince could have Stelig sent away, and all evidence to  his affair removed before Stelig could have his chance.

“I was texting my wife. We just had a baby. A son. Want to see  pictures?” Stelig asked.

Of course, being such a young vampire, family pictures didn’t do  anything for the other man, and he smiled and shook his head when  Stelig offered him the phone.

“No thanks. Congratulations, but we need to pay attention. If the  prince is caught, he could be in very big trouble with Lord  Dragunov.”

And that was the unfortunate consequence that Prince Vlad would  have to pay for the actions he'd taken.

Chapter Five

Andrew had been branded as an official feeder. The looks on the

faces of the guards had been priceless when Vlad made the  announcement to them. The one darker-haired man had practically  growled when Vlad had commanded their silence on the matter as  well.

Maybe he just wasn’t pleased about having to lie about all of this, regardless of whether he was getting paid to do it or not. Andrew didn’t care, so long as the both of them kept their mouths shut long enough for Andrew to convince Vlad to come away with him.

He could tell Vlad they were mated right now, and Vlad could easily decide to ignore it, or accuse him of lying and send Andrew away. Andrew might not like it, but Vlad hadn’t been lying when he said that most vampires would think it was too beneath them to take a werewolf for a lover.

Vlad had admitted that he’d only done it because he thought they would never see each other again after their night together. That didn’t mean he would accept they were mates. Andrew had to make sure, and he wasn’t about to let that bomb drop when those two guards could be lurking around anywhere.

Andrew hated not being able to smell where his enemies were.

Vlad had called his king brother, telling some story about the  Hummer not starting properly and needing the day for repairs. They had their one more night and day alone together, and in all that time,  Andrew still couldn’t plead, seduce, or even trick Vlad into telling him exactly who this Lord Boris person was.

The fact that Vlad never spoke about him with any respect in his

voice was enough.

Andrew came to learn the names of the two guards, Stelig and

Dominic, and now that the sun was set and the stars were out on their

last day together, it was time to go and see where Vlad lived.

Stelig, the darker-haired man of the two with the deep baritone  voice, opened the door to the gleaming white Hummer, his lips thin  and face pulled down in a frown. “Try not to get any dog smell on the  seats.”

“Ha-ha-ha,” said Andrew, flipping the man off and climbing in.  The two guards would be escorting them to the other cabin where the  rest of the royals were staying.

The windows were tinted, everything inside smelled like brandnew leather, and there were buttons all over the doors and seat that

Andrew had to struggle against playing with.

At least he had all that to keep him occupied, otherwise he might just be a little nervous about being a werewolf who was willingly allowing himself to be taken to a nest of royal vampires who could order his death if he so much as sneezed.

It would be worth it. He just had to wait this out, and whether

Vlad decided to be with him or nor, in the end, it would all be worth

it.

Vlad was taking his time coming out of the cabin that had been his for his little adventure in having sex with a werewolf, but that was fine with Andrew, he wanted the chance to look around, take in the

sights and scents. He wanted to figure out where he was in case the  time came when he needed to run away.

A breeze must have blown against his side of the Hummer,  because he caught a familiar scent that hadn’t been there before.

Was that

?

Andrew hastily looked down to one of the one thousand buttons on the side of his door, found the one that he was certain was for the

windows, and then rolled it down about halfway to get a better view

of what was out there and to take a proper sniff of the air.

Tinted windows and strong leather weren’t easy to wrap one’s

senses around.

Then he caught that scent again, and this time he recognized it.  Holy shit. It was James DeWitt, his alpha, and the man had come with almost every other alpha in their pack.

They must have followed his scent here. Christ, and now they were all looking at him, just sitting in this car, waiting like he was some kind of helpless little kid who didn’t know what to do.

Andrew tried to search for them without making it look like he knew something was out there. He didn’t want to give anything away to the guards who were still throwing luggage into the back.

Where are you?

he inwardly called.

The other alphas wouldn’t be able to hear him, but James might.  The leading alphas had that kind of bond with their men. It made things easier when it came time to hunt or communicate with the rest of the pack.

James, where are you?

Right here.

Andrew didn’t hear the reply with his ears, but despite that, he still had an idea of which direction it had come from, and he turned

his head.

James was in wolf form, and he slunk out of the bushes just enough that Andrew could see his gray head. All werewolves were big by nature, but James was something else entirely. He was a hellhound to be sure.

Someone was also going to see him if he didn’t slink back into those bushes right now. He was right next to the wooden stairs of the cabin. The others were also nearby, probably just as dangerously close.

His hackles were also standing up, and his lips were pulled back in a ferocious snarl.

What did they do to you?

The only reason why James would ask was because of Andrew’s obvious compliance. Why else would a werewolf willingly allow

himself to be led into the vehicle of a vampire?

Isaac came upon a scene of broken branches and scratched up  earth and grass, and Nick scented that you had been taken. He knew it  was by vampires when no scent presented itself.

Of course he would. That blind werewolf had the best nose out of

everyone in the entire pack.

You’re right, I was taken, but don’t attack. I’m here on my own.

James’s teeth disappeared, and his head cocked in both surprise  and confusion.
