Dylan never felt like this before in his entire life, like a lightning bolt hit him right to the chest, the heat and force of it so hot Dylan couldn’t focus on anything else. The Alpha wolf in him wanted to appear out of hiding, pull the Omega to him and proclaim Gary his and his alone.

“$4,195,000,” Gary said promptly when the cufflinks were unveiled.

The other Omegas stared at him like he was insane. Chuckling, Dylan heartily approved. After waiting for so long, endless nights sleeping with strangers, Dylan finally found his soul mate. Gary was clearly passionate about men’s fashion, like Dylan. They had one thing in common. While Dylan knew nothing about Gary beyond the obvious facts on file, he was eager to know more about this unexpectedly feisty Omega. Christ. Dylan got hard simply seeing Gary give Pop the flawless answer. Rising from his seat, Dylan didn’t want to watch anymore. His family owned the network and he couldn’t wait any longer.

“Is something wrong, Mr. Barlow?” one of the assistants asked after he walked out of the viewing room.

“Get me the show’s producer. We need to talk. I’ve made my decision.”

The girl’s eyes widened. “But Sir, it doesn’t work like that.”

“Weren’t you watching? We have a clear winner and I can’t wait any longer. Call the producer. I don’t like repeating myself.”

The assistant scrambled to her feet. Dylan smiled, imagining Gary’s reaction. The Omega had nothing to worry about though. Damn. Dylan couldn’t wait to meet him.

* * * *

“What do you mean the show’s cancelled?”

“We’re in the middle of a live show, right?”

The Omegas were in an uproar. Gary bit his lip. After Mate is Right went on commercial break, the TV people ushered all of them into a small room to make the announcement.

“They can’t do this. They need to give people what they want,” the red head insisted.

What the people want? Wasn’t this show about finding their fated mate?
The other Omegas didn’t budge and trooped back on the stage despite the protests of the others. Gary’s chest tightened. Disappointment and heart break hovered in the wings.

This show started to mean something to him. When the audience was ushered out the doors and the announcement came that the show was cancelled, the others stubbornly remained. Two Omegas demanded repayment in the form of cash while others wanted more screen time or to be included in another show.

“This show really didn’t mean anything to them. Am I the only one different?”

Gary wasn’t surprised to find himself alone in the dressing room, the same room the producers ushered him and the other Omegas in for the bad news.

Why didn’t he leave?

Why continue to twist the knife in the gut?

“The answer to your question is clear, isn’t it? You’re not like the others,” a deep and refined voice commented.

Gary whirled, eyes narrowed. A stranger had no right making commentaries about how pathetic he was. Gary had a snarky reply ready, but it died the moment he sighted the drop-dead gorgeous Alpha standing by the doorway. No, Gary realized, blocking it.

There was only one way in and out. Why did the Omega wolf inside Gary want to crawl to Dylan Barlow on his knees and offer him his throat, belly and ass?
God.
Gary’s cheeks grew bright red at the thought. He wanted Dylan to have his way with him, however Dylan wanted and Gary knew he’d only beg for more.

It was a strange feeling. Gary wasn’t sure if he should feel ashamed for thinking such inappropriate thoughts. He needed to get his mind out of the gutter.

“What happened? Why was the show cancelled?” Gary asked, glad to find his voice.

“I cancelled it.”

“Why?” Gary let out a bitter laugh as an unpleasant thought occurred to him. “Oh, wait. I know. You saw who the winner-to-be was. Me, and you got disappointed. Perfect guys like you don’t—”

Gary was cut short with a terrifying growl. Before he realized what had happened, Dylan slammed him against the wall, yanking his wrists above his head. Swallowing, Gary became aware of Dylan’s presence, as if the Alpha was capable of filling the entire space. Gary couldn’t look away from Dylan’s eyes, suddenly turned feral and wolf-yellow.

“Don’t ever let me hear you say those words again,” Dylan warned.

Jesus.
Dylan smelled so good and he was so close. Only an inch separated their bodies and Gary couldn’t focus, much less think logically.

“What words?” No other man had been capable of reducing Gary to this quivering mess. What made everything worse was Gary’s shaft, getting hard by the second. How could he be turned on by all this? Oh, Gary knew he had a submissive side to him. Every Omega did, but he never acted this way around other Alphas.

“That you think you’re unworthy.”

“But I am. Please give me some credit, Alpha. Perfect guys like you don’t end up with plain Joes like me.”

“I’m far from perfect.”

Dylan closed the inch of space between them, rubbing his body against Gary, worsening Gary’s hold on his self-control and dignity. Gary forgot all about his insecurities though, the moment he felt the ridge of Dylan’s erection pressing against his trousers the way his did.

His neck and cheeks reddened. Good, they were in agreement. Gary could live with this. Dylan might not want him for a mate, but Gary wouldn’t refuse sex with a man like Dylan.

“You feel how hard I am for you, pup? Still think we’re not meant to be?” Dylan whispered against Gary’s ear.

Gary shivered at his warm breath. Anticipation crawled down his spine. If Dylan decided to take him here and now, demand Gary to strip and offer his ass for Dylan to sink his dick in, Gary wouldn’t refuse. Hell, Gary would die a happy Omega. All his life, Gary had been saving his virginity, but he didn’t mind giving it to this amazing specimen of an Alpha.

“How—”

“Hush, pup.”

Dylan tightened his grip on Gary’s wrists and claimed his mouth. Gary practically melted. It was a kiss of the toe-curling kind. Their tongues and teeth tangled, but eventually, Gary yielded, letting Dylan thrust his tongue down his throat. The heat and taste of Dylan flooded Gary. God. Dylan’s lips sealed against his felt so good, so delicious. Gary could sense the terrible hunger in Dylan’s wolf, but he wasn’t afraid. Whatever Dylan decided to give, Gary knew he’d be able to take it. He wanted to take it.

Someone gasped, and Dylan pulled away. Seeing two Omegas by the door, Gary’s blush deepened.

“Not fair,” one complained.

“Why don’t you leave that boring pup behind, and have the two of us instead?” the red head suggested.

Dylan moved in a blink of an eye, releasing Gary’s wrists and in seconds, had the red head by the throat. The red head gasped, legs kicking uselessly in the air.

“If I ever hear you insult my chosen mate again, trash, I’ll fucking rip your throat out. Understood?”

How Dylan delivered those words with such contained cold rage, Gary didn’t know. The red head rasped out a ‘yes’. Dylan released him and the Alpha’s words finally sunk in.

Dylan called him his mate.

Wait, was that right?

Dylan was by his side again, holding out a hand to him. “Come on. Let’s get the hell out of here.”

Hesitantly, Gary reached for Dylan’s fingers, marveling at how his slender fingers looked tiny compared to Dylan’s. This Alpha terrified and excited him in so many ways, but Gary wasn’t foolish enough to refuse Dylan. He came to the studio today, expecting he had no chance against the other Omega hopefuls. Gary had been ready to fight, to win, but it seemed Dylan made it easy for him.

Gary gave Dylan’s fingers a squeeze and starting pulling him out. The other Omegas stared daggers at Gary, but what else was new? Dylan picked him and no one else. The Alpha must have seen something special in him.

It felt odd, being the center of attention. All his life, Gary had never been noticed. He existed in the background, watching every eligible werewolf in his pack find their fated pair. Gary began to contemplate artificial insemination and care for his own pup by himself. Staring at Dylan’s broad back, it looked like he worried for nothing.

He prayed to destiny, fate, God, or whoever was out there in the universe that Dylan Barlow wouldn’t end up breaking his heart.

Chapter Three

Dylan seemed to know his way around the studio. After several twists and turns, Gary blinked at the direct sunlight. Somehow, Dylan found his way to the parking lot and a black limo was waiting for them. Gary blinked. Did the show producers provide this too?

Dylan led him to the limo. The driver, all dressed in an official-looking uniform, opened the door for them.

“Did the studio do this too? Can we really ride this?” Gary asked, nervous. That got a sexy laugh from the Alpha.

“Little Omega, you’re full of surprises. You don’t know who I am at all, don’t you?”

Gary frowned. “Should I?”

Dylan shook his head.

“Did I disappoint you?” Gary asked, apprehensive. ‘Barlow’ did sound familiar, although he couldn’t remember where he heard it. Then his heart started to race as he recalled one conversation with his mother, who made it her life’s mission to teach Gary all the important werewolf family bloodlines. That made Dylan werewolf royalty. Gary sucked in a breath.

“Wait, that Barlow family?”

Dylan chuckled. “Don’t worry about it, pup. I’m not disappointed. In fact, I’m the opposite. You please me a great deal. Get in, unless you’ve changed your mind?”

Gary shook his head and slid inside the limo, heart pounding. It was unexpectedly spacious inside and he noticed the wine chilling in a bucket along with tidbits on a tray.

“Wow, are we celebrating something?” Gary asked once Dylan joined him.

“In a way, we are.”

Dylan pressed a button and the divider between the passenger carriage and the driver went up, providing them ultimate privacy. Despite the situation, that Gary was with a man he just met, he wasn’t afraid. Somehow, he felt safe with Dylan. The Alpha wouldn’t hurt him, Dylan knew. How he came to that conclusion, he didn’t have the foggiest clue yet, but he intended to find out where all this would lead.

Stop focusing on the future, think of the present.
Sound advice, because Gary had a hard time holding onto rational thought when Dylan was around. A good or bad sign?

Gary rubbed at his hands. “This is all new to me. I mean, I’ve had boyfriends, but I’ve never really taken that final step in the bedroom.”

Dylan’s eyes widened. The Alpha let out a low growl. Gary couldn’t tell if Dylan was pleased or unhappy about the news. Without warning, Dylan’s hands found Gary’s waist. Using his supernatural strength, Dylan hoisted Gary on his lap, so Gary straddled him. Gary swallowed, aware of the intensity in Dylan’s gaze.

“How come?” Dylan asked, tone gentle.

“Well, it’s embarrassing to say,” Gary admitted.

“You’re in the safest place in the world, pup.” Dylan banded an arm around his back, making sure Gary wouldn’t fall off his lap. The Alpha began rubbing circles across his spine, calming Gary instantly.

“It never felt right, but with you it’s different.”

“How so?”

“I’ve never felt this sense of rightness with anyone else before.”

“I’m the same.” Dylan’s answer gave Gary the confidence he needed. The Alpha continued, “Isn’t this wonderful, pup? I’ll be the first one to breach that tight virgin ass hole of yours and the last.”

“The last?” Gary whispered.

“Don’t you feel it, Gary?” With his free hand, Dylan reached for Gary’s hand and made him feel his own beating heart. “Our wolves know. You’re rightfully mine, Omega. You’re the missing half I’ve been searching for my entire life.”

“Oh, Alpha. I wish that’s true.”

Dylan kissed his forehead. “I’ll just have to prove it to you. First, these clothes have to go.”

With each piece of clothing stripped away, Gary felt more exposed. He’d never been comfortable with his slender body. All dominant wolves were big to him. Gary wore his designer clothes like an armor, but once Dylan looked at him with desire burning in his gaze, the Alpha made him feel wanted. Needed. Gary never felt that before.

“So fucking sexy, baby.” Dylan nuzzled his neck. Gary froze when Dylan licked at the side of his neck, sharp canines grazing the skin lightly. “Look at those small nipples, that long hungry cock.”

Gary’s cheeks turned red. He gasped when Dylan pinched his left nipple. Those fingers found his cock, giving his shaft a squeeze. Gary nearly came then, but he held back, seeing Dylan’s warning look.

“Your orgasms are mine too, pup, just like this delectable body. Remember that.”

“I will, Alpha.”

“Good, we understand each other. Stay still while I examine my gift.”

His gift?

Gary had never been called that in his life, but today was the first of many, apparently. He squirmed, feeling Dylan’s strong fingers prying his ass cheeks slowly. When Dylan fingered his opening, Gary whimpered.

“Oh, Alpha, not there. No one has touched me there before.”

“We’re about to remedy that little fact, Omega. This body, this cock and this hole, now belongs to me, understood?”

Gary shivered at those possessive words. How often did he dream of a powerful mate, capable of sending him to his knees? He loved every bit of Dylan, especially how natural commands came to him and Gary liked nothing more than to follow that firm and authoritative voice, also capable of kindness when needed.

“Yes, Alpha.”

“I want to hear you say it, pup.”

“This…body, this cock and my ass,” Gary faltered, but managed to continue. “Every inch of me belongs to you, Alpha.”

“You want to be owned and loved, don’t you, little Omega? You’ve waited so long, but I’m here now.”

Shuddering, Gary pressed his head against the curve of Dylan’s shoulder.

How was it possible, Dylan knew the exact words to say?

This was crazy, this entire day felt like someone else’s dream.

How could Gary begin the day, hopeful yet deriding himself for joining a dating game show? Now, he was sitting on a powerful Alpha’s lap, practically begging to be ravished. What if Dylan ate him up and spat him back out?
