He didn’t see how she could have it all, either. Not unless…

“What if there was another way to expand Joyful Creations beyond Riverbend?” he said.

“Another way? What are you talking about?”

“It would require having Internet service,” Flynn said with a grin. “Reliable postal service.”

“Now
that
we have.”

“Good.” The idea exploded in his head, all those years of covering the food industry, and learning from chefs and experts coalescing at once. “What if you started a Web site? To sell, not just the regular cookies and desserts, but also the ‘love cookies’? They already have a national reputation, and once my article runs—”

“I thought you said your editor would hate it.”

“If he does, I’ll just sell it somewhere else. It’s a good article, Sam. A damned good article. I’ll sell it, and in the process, make Joyful Creations even more famous.”

“Ship the cookies. And stay here.” Sam thought about that, pacing as she talked aloud. “It could work. I wouldn’t have to move away from my grandmother or my aunt, and if I needed to increase production, I could always rent more space from the shop next door. They have a back room they don’t use. My overhead would be low, the hours I’d have to put in…” She spun back toward him. “It could work.”

“And you could have it all, Sam. Stay here, have a family.” He grinned. “Have me, if you want.”

“Of course I do.” She crossed back to him, slipping into his arms as if she had always been there, fitting as easily as a link in a chain. “You’re part of the package, Flynn MacGregor.”

He leaned down and kissed her, capturing the taste of vanilla, the scent of cinnamon, the sweetness of Sam. Everything he’d ever wanted, in one beautiful, wonderful Christmas gift. “You know what people are going to say, don’t you?”

“Hmm…what?”

“That we fell in love because of those cookies.”

“But we never even ate any.”

“No one knows if we did or not. And if it’s rumored that we did…”

Sam grinned. “It’ll be good for business.”

“As long as it’s good for us, I’m okay with that.” Then Flynn kissed the woman he loved again, while the lights from the tree cast their golden light on her face. For the first time in his life, Flynn MacGregor believed in Santa Claus, because the jolly man had finally listened and given him the perfect gift.

The
only
gift he’d ever really wanted for Christmas—

A home.
