“Yeah,” they shouted in unison. They climbed into the back seat of the car, leaving Trista and Seth alone.
“Are you sure we have time for ice cream?” Trista asked. “Aren’t you supposed to be at your warm-up in a few minutes for your show tonight?”
Seth placed his hands on Trista’s waist. “Let’s just say that Adam and I have an understanding.” He turned to Faith, who was busy playing pat-a-cake with Savannah. “He understands what’s most important to me. Besides, it’s just ice cream. How long could that take? And we’ve been getting ready for this show for the past few weeks now. If I don’t know it now, I never will.”
Trista smiled as she looked into his eyes. “I like this Seth better.”
“Which Seth is that?”
“The one who smiles more.”
He pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and leaned in. He whispered, “You’ve given me so much to smile about.”
