“Magic,” he confirmed, and then he kissed Cole and pulled him closer. He raised his hands, and Cole pulled his shirt off when he tugged on it. He let Cole touch him, and every single touch sent shivers down his spine, made him want Cole even more. He arched his back and groaned to get more and undid the button on Cole’s pants with shaky fingers. Mason felt like he was opening a present, and he loved it. He’d forgotten how to breathe long ago, and it didn’t matter and
nothing mattered
because Cole was right. It felt like magic.
“Be mine,” Cole demanded, his voice hoarse and impatient. Eager for something. Eager for Mason?
He agreed with a fiery kiss and with the movement of his hips. He groaned when it was too much, stroked Cole. Mason had never wanted anyone that much.
They devoured each other. Carelessly and dangerously, the flames swallowed them. The stars watched them as they got lost in each other.

they were lying next to each other. Naked and exhausted. Cole moved to bite Mason’s shoulder. He chuckled in reply. Mason ran his hand over Cole’s back and admired the muscles there, followed the invisible line, and then gazed into his eyes.
“This is crazy,” Mason declared with a murmur. Still smiling, though.
Cole leaned in to press a kiss on Mason’s collarbone. “You’re an idiot,” Cole whispered. It sounded a little like a promise and a lot like a new beginning. Mason wondered about that word again:
magic
.
“And you’re the best present I ever received,” Mason told him. He snuggled closer, drowned in his proximity. He’d never thought it was amazing to melt like that before. And from the look Cole gave him, he knew he was thinking the same thing.
“Stay,” Cole said, and Mason looked at him with eyes wide open. It made Cole chuckle. “When you look at me like that, I swear I can see the stars in your eyes.” Cole’s confession was quiet, but not hesitant. Not even once in the past few hours had Cole done anything hesitantly.
“I’ll stay until the last star burns out,” Mason whispered, a promise he meant.
Cole wrapped his arms around his bare body and pulled him impossibly closer. He just said one word in reply. It was everything that needed to be said. It confirmed his words. It confirmed
them
.
“Mine.”
