“Sweets, it’s perfect. Next time ask me first, okay?” Midian picked her up and took her to the donut display where he bought her the biggest donut with a pound and a half of frosting along with a chocolate milk. “Pay back is a b. Since you’re enjoying this so much, have fun chasing a sugar-highed preschooler around all day.”
“Wear your badge proud.” Jimmy snickered and draped an arm around Sameera. The rest of the tour was going to be hilarious. He grabbed a couple boxes of donuts and protein milk. Midian stormed past them with Millie and boarded the bus. “Remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”
“Ah crap. You’ve started the prank wars.” Sameera grinned. “Midian and Major are gods of prank.”
Jimmy chuckled. “He can bring it. I’m not worried.” His phone buzzed in his pocket and chimed with a voicemail. He set down the items and played the message.
“Son, I never told you how sorry I am for my part of your unhappiness. I am a bitter woman who should’ve left your father when I cheated, instead of staying with him and living in a world of hell, not protecting you or showing you love. I lacked the courage to leave and start fresh with two young boys and our families don’t believe in divorce. All my friends were his. One day, I hope to have your forgiveness. One day, I hope you’ll give me another chance to be in your life, to be in Millie’s life. I never knew Miles had a daughter. Call me.”
He pushed replay and handed the phone to Sam.
“That unbelievable woman. Promise me right now, J.J. that you are not going to accept that line of bull from her. She’s only apologizing to get an in into Millie’s life.”
“Don’t worry, meerkat. I know my mama’s games pretty well.” He hit delete on the message. “She may see pictures or tabloid stories, but she will never, ever get to be around our little girl. She’s ours to protect and raise. I will not allow that woman to poison her innocence. As a matter of fact. I think it’s time to quit helping her. We now have Millie’s future to worry about, my ma can figure out her own.” He opened his phone to text his mother.
Ma, I forgive you but you will never have access to Millie, and as of today, I will no longer support you financially. I must think of the future of my unannounced fiancé and niece. Get a job like every other American and make your own way. I’m closing your account. Hope you haven’t spent all that ten grand I just sent. Consider the house paid for a parting gift. I won’t sell that. Goodbye Ma.
“I’m glad you cut the strings.” Sameera reached up and kissed him. “Hey, look at this newspaper article from the entertainment section. Trish just emailed me. She says there are dozens of articles out from various entertainment sites.”
If you want a night of excitement, you need to check out Crimson Rage’s new opening act. Sameera Kattan’s voice is pure sin. Her lyrics will steal your soul while the three sexy Mediterranean men, Midian, Major, and Vin at her back will make your heart swoon. Their stage presence is magnetizing, you cannot draw your attention away from their allure and style of Rock. The band Final Regret has a unique sound clearly all their own. One highlight of the night was the cover of Kiss Me Deadly. Sameera belts out the lyrics in true vixen fashion, Lita Ford would definitely be proud. Their hit single Perfect Storm is trending on all social media, and fans want to know if there will be a full album and their own tour lining up.
Let’s move onto the surprise of the night. The public wants to know more about the little diva demanding her own stage time. This curly hair cherub made her debut performance on stage, twisting the men of Crimson Rage around her little finger, rocking her Crimson Rage Princess T-shirt with sparkly pants and equally sparky boots. Her sweet innocent voice rang out in the crowd as she sang a song to her recently deceased mother. Her Uncle Jimmy must be proud. The rumor mill states magazines are hounding him for an exclusive, but the one thing we know about bad boy Jimmy O’Riley is his life is his own. The only stories we seem to catch are the ones he wants to give, usually involving punching someone out for invading his privacy or the privacy of those he loves. Crimson Rage performed a set list of favorite oldies along with new, and while we love the men of CR to death, there was not a dry eye in the audience when the new princess brought the crowd to its knees.
“Isn’t that awesome. Looks like Millie is giving us some good media coverage.”
He handed Sam her phone back as they walked back to the bus. “Yeah, well. Trish loves a good angle and there wasn’t anything I could do to stop her out on stage. She needed to sing and at the time letting her do as she wished was the easiest way to proceed.”
“I know you just cut her off. I just worry your mom will try something, now that you’ve disowned her. Use her anger and the bad media from fighting as a way to get into her life.”
“I won’t allow her too. Millie has Final Regret and Crimson Rage’s families to be her extended family. We take care of our own. I will show her the parents of the guys who were my first friends away from home, who have accepted me, had my back, kicked my ass and much more. She won’t need anyone else until she’s grown and even then, ain’t no dick douches getting near our baby.”
“Amen. I got a shotgun too, brotha,” Mid nodded his way.
“Uncle Jimmy, can you color with me?”
“Sure thing, but I want to color a prince.” Jimmy sat at the table next to the loves of his life and picked up the newly sharpened crayons. As the bus moved along the highway, he figured life couldn’t be more perfect than right now.
