Once inside, Red attempted to close the doors. But LT wouldn't al
low it. Instead, he pulled his friend farther and farther into the church, till they were nearly on the other end. Before Red could question this tactic, he heard a loud noise. They both looked up, to the doorway, seeing a large figure blocking out the sun.

Santana.

"Come to me, girl," Santana said, looking to Angelina. He beckoned to her, using all his powers to persuade her to leave the comfort of her mother, of the Seals, of the church.

But LT held Angelina back.

"Let her come to me and you will live," Santana declared.

Realizing these humans weren't going to obey, Santana took a ste
p forward into the church. His boots made a loud thud each time they landed on the wooden floor. Santana approached, crossing the inside of the church, nearing the SEALs, the altar, and the giant crucifix behind them.

"B . . . but I thought this church would save us," Red blurted out. He was
stunned; dismayed "I thought we were safe here."

"This church holds no power," Santana said, his voice soundin
g more and more animal like as he spoke. He neared, step after step, closer and closer. Now within feet, he reached out, one final attempt to gather the girl and take her away.

LT reacted. He stepped back to the altar, yanking t
he crucifix off the wall. It was heavy, unbalanced, and he nearly dropped it. Holding it in both hands, he neared Santana. A fire burned in LT's eyes. A look of contempt shone, one that Santana had never seen a human possess before.

LT sprang into action. He rushed forward, heaving the crucifix in a low arch. It swung through the
air, entering Santana's chest and digging in. LT pushed hard, driving all his weight into the crucifix, digging it deeper into the demon's chest.

Santana
was stunned, but only for a moment. Looking down, the demon saw smoke billowing from his chest. He eyed LT for a moment, not angered, but amused.

"Stupid human fool. You can't kill me," the
demon roared. Santana yanked the crucifix from his chest. He did so with little effort, tossing it at LT who ducked just in time. Then, the fight was on.

Santana rushed LT, grabbing him by the shoulders and throwing him to the ground.
LT jumped up quickly, but Santana was faster. The demon began beating the man. He tossed him over three rows of pews. Then, leaping over himself, he picked up LT and threw him back toward the altar. LT smashed into the nearby wall, lit candles cast aside under his weight. LT grunted. He felt a sharp stab in his side. He was sure his ribs were broken.

Santana neared again, reaching down and ya
nking LT to his feet once more. Looking at his prey, Santana decided to end it here and now.

But LT look
ed up to the demon, and grinned.

"You smile?" Santana asked.

LT nodded.

"How can you smile at your impending death?"
Santana asked.

"How do you know it's my death that's
coming?" LT asked.

Confused for a moment, Santana
kept staring at LT. Then, the demon heard something. Steps. An approaching human. Still clutching LT, Santana turned just in time to see Red rushing up on him. In his hand was the same crucifix.

Red
held it high above his head. Running forward, Red flung the crucifix with all his weight. His aim was true. The crucifix smashed directly into Santana's face.

The demon dropped LT in a flash. Screaming out in agony, Sant
ana threw his hands up. The crucifix had entered into his wicked, beastly face like butter. It bore into him, coming out the back side.

The demon freak of nature withered in pain, dropping to the floor, screaming obscenities. Both LT and Red ste
pped back as Santana struggled for a bit, convulsing on the floor.

Then, it was over. The crucifix had done its damage. The d
emon that once was Santana was now a pile of decaying flesh. His body was now jelly, his face rotting away before their very eyes. Melting into the earth.

Santana was dead.

The monster had been killed.
