Alex’s padres, Christian, and Monique immediately go
to the ER to search for Alex. They were able to go into the room. “Mi hijo!”
cries out Mama Maria, going to inspect Alex.

“I will see if I can get the doctor to talk to us,”
says Christian, leaving to talk to the medical assistant.

He approaches the medical assistant and asks for the
doctor. “Excuse me, I’m Dr. De La Cruz’s brother and we would like to speak to
the doctor attending him,” says Christian, smiling, flashing his dimples.

The medical assistant, Ms. Adkins, looks at Christian admiring
how gorgeous Dr. De La Cruz’s brother is. “Yes Mr. De La Cruz, I will call him,”
replies the medical assistant, Ms. Adkins, smiling. She walks anxiously,
looking for the doctor.

“Dr. Petersen, Dr. De La Cruz’s family is here and
requests to speak to you,” says Ms. Adkins, smiling.

“I’ll be right there,” replies Dr. Petersen, reviewing
Alex’s chart.

“I will inform them,” says the medical assistant, Ms. Adkins,
nodding.

Dr. Petersen goes into the ER room where Dr. De La
Cruz is. He’s a little sad on the news he has to tell his family.

“Mr. De La Cruz,” says Dr. Petersen. He realizes that
several members are also waiting for the news. “I’m Dr. Petersen and I have
been attending Dr. De La Cruz. Dr. De La Cruz’s vitals are now stable. He has a
mild concussion, several broken ribs, and mild internal trauma to some organs. We
believe that he will return to consciousness because he’s responding to stimuli.
He was awake when the paramedics were attending him.”

“Dr. Petersen, my son will be okay? He will regain
consciousness? The internal organs will heal?” asks Papa Jose Arturo, looking
at his son.

We need to pray for mi hijo and I know that dios will
heal him,
thinks Papa Jose Arturo,
with faith
.

“Yes, Mr. De La Cruz. We have every reason to believe
that Dr. De La Cruz will regain consciousness when his body is ready,” replies
Dr. Petersen, nodding. “We will keep Dr. De La Cruz in the ER until he does. Then
we will transfer him to a regular room for some additional observations.”

“Gracias, Dios Mio!” cries out Mama Maria, stroking
her hijo’s cheek. “Mi hijo, you need to wake up!”

“Thank you, Dr. Petersen,” says Christian. He observes
his padre walk towards his Mama Maria to give her some support.

“You’re welcome,” says Dr. Petersen with some
compassion when he sees Dr. De La Cruz family’s pain. “Excuse me. I will be
back in a few.”

Christian turns and pulls Monique into his arms. He
buries his face in her hair. He tries to control his pain and tears.

“Baby, we need to pray, let’s go to the chapel,” says
Monique, rubbing Christian’s back.

They go to the chapel to pray for Alex’s quick
recovery and also light a candle.

Alex’s padres try to get him to regain consciousness
by talking to him, describing the wedding ceremony, and how feliz the familia is.
They also tell him about his familia’s love and prayers.

Alex’s padres sit down to wait. They’re exhausted. The
hours pass slowly and the familia come to check in on Alex’s condition.

Chapter
Thirty-Five

Christian returns to the base to train. Monique returns to
work. Alex is recovering from his injuries. The week flies by.

“Si, Baby, I love you,” says Monique with tears.
I don’t
want him to know that I’m scared for him. When he’s at the base I’m in fear
that he will be sent out on a mission,
thinks Monique.

“My Cielo, you’re okay?” asks Christian, feeling that she’s
not telling him something. “You are feeling well? I’m sorry I’m not on leave
this weekend.”

“Si, baby, I know that you can’t control your leaves. Promise
me that you will be careful,” says Monique, with an ache in her corazon.
I
don’t know why I feel this fear for my Baby
, ponders Monique.

“Si, I promise. My Cielo, I don’t want you to worry. We are
at the base. I always dream of you. Te amo mucho,” says Christian. “I have to
go. Don’t worry.”

“Si, Baby, te amo,” replies Monique, looking at their
wedding picture. She sits on the bed for a while, gazing at the photo. She
cries a stream of tears that fall down her lovely face.

What a mess we have with the Cartel and Lopez. The
government agency doesn’t want to give us any information on Lopez or the
Cartel and this sucks
, thinks Jose
Enrique, taking another bite of his flauta.

“You know that I think that Alex and Tony will not be
able to make it to the club tonight,” says Jose Enrique. “They were extremely lucky
that they were not killed.”

“I agree that they were real lucky. Dios was taking
care of them,” says Carlos.

“Si, hermano, and now we have to pray that Claudia is
found alive,” replies Paty, not wanting to think of the condition and state
that she could be in.

“I don’t know why the government agency can’t tell us
more. It has made la familia real worried with the unknown status,” says Jessy.
“Veronica has not been in to work and I wonder if it has anything to do with
Claudia.”

“My Amor, we have to remain positive and pray that mis
primas, las bebe’s are okay. I have faith that the government’s professional
agencies will bring our prima back alive and well,” says Jose Enrique, looking
at Carlos and Paty nod in agreement.

“My Vida, I know that we need to have faith, but the
cartel is ruthless and it scares me to think of what can be happening to
Claudia,” says Jessy with fear in her eyes. “We don’t know what else the cartel
can do to la familia to force us to associate.”

“Jessy, the government agencies are doing all they can
to stop the cartel from forcing la familia to associate,” says Carlos. “Is it
not correct, Jose Enrique?”

“Si, Carlos, the government is trying to stop and
capture the cartel that is threatening la familia,” says Jose Enrique, nodding.
“But I don’t know if it is the same cartel that has Claudia. She’s a FBI agent.
I don’t know if she was working on entrapping another cartel drug lord,” He
shrugs, taking a drink of his Corona.

“Yeah, she could never talk about her missions,” says
Paty, nodding. “We need to pray for my prima that she will be safe and returns
to us soon.”

They continue with their dinner, talking about the
situation. “Okay, it’s time to leave,” says Jose Enrique, taking Jessy by the
hand. “We will see you at the club.” They walk out, leaving their tab on the
table.

“Si, we will see you at the club,” replies Carlos,
taking Paty’s mano.

The primos arrive at the club to enjoy an evening, one
couple after another. Gregory and Bella were the last couple to arrive.

Bella looks lovely in a green dress that enhances her
amazing green eyes making them appear to glow. The dress has a slit on the side,
exposing her beautiful toned leg.

“Hola,” says Bella, smiling at the primos. They take a
sit at their favorite table. The hombres go to get some cervezas.

“Well, this is different. We always were here as a big
group and now it is only us couples this evening,” says Bella, turning to look
at Greg as he sits next to her, pulling her closer, giving her a beso.

“Do you want something to drink, Baby,” asks Greg,
starting to get up to get his Corona.

“Si, my Vida, I want some water,” says Bella. She
turns to look at her prima.

“Do you want anything?” asks Greg, looking at Jose
Enrique and Carlos. He sees them shake their heads no.

“No, I’m good,” replies Carlos, looking at Paty to see
if she wants anything.

“No, thanks,” says Jose Enrique, pulling Jessy closer
to whisper. “My Amor, I love you and I cannot wait to love you. It’s not fair
that I have to wait to marry.”

“Si, my Vida, I know,” replies Jessy, smiling and
looking at her amigas. “My Vida, we probably would have had the same issues as
Jacki and Ricky did. Eloping wouldn’t have helped.”

“I can always dream,” says Jose Enrique, thinking just
my luck, looking at the other two couples.

“Let’s dance,” says Carlos, pulling Paty up to go to
the dance floor. He quickly pulls her into his arms, whispering how much he
loves her, wrapping his arms around her small waist.

“I think that Carlos and Paty have the right idea,”
says Jose Enrique, standing up. He helps Jessy to stand, taking her hand. They
go to the dance floor and sigh in relief.

“Baby, do you want to dance?” asks Greg, leaning in to
kiss her.

“Si, my Vida, I do want to dance a few songs with you,”
says Bella, looking at Greg nod.

“Si, let’s dance,” says Greg, taking Bella’s hand, and
walk to the dance floor to dance to the romantic Spanish love song.

After a few songs, Bella wants to leave. “I think that
we need to get back to la casa,” says Bella, pulling him closer. “But I need to
go to el
bano
.”

“Okay, Baby,” says Greg with relief.

“Paty, Jessy I’m going to el bano. Do you want to go?”
asks Bella, looking at them.

“Si, prima,” replies Paty standing. She gives Carlos a
beso. “I will be right back.”

“Si, I will go with you two,” says Jessy, standing,
giving Jose Enrique a beso. “Just a few more minutes,” she whispers before
leaving.

Chapter Thirty-Six

The mujeres go to el bano, going through the crowd to
get there. All of a sudden the club is full and a lot of chicas are heading to
el bano.

Good thing it has a beautiful dressing room to fix your
makeup and hair. The room has two huge French doors that lead to the back of
the club. There is a nice size garden for couples to talk. The French doors are
open and the rose scented air blows into the room refreshing and cooling the
area.

The dressing room is beautifully decorated in feminine
soft pastel pink walls. There are gilded wall mirrors against one long wall
that has an ivory color faux marble counter. There are plenty of matching
gilded chairs with the cushions upholstered in soft pink pastel velvet. All the
chicas love to sit and fix their hair and reapply their lipstick.

The fresh air blows in with the scent of the roses and
other flowers that are blooming. It’s a beautiful night that looks like deep
navy velvet with sparking diamonds and a crescent moon.

el
bano has two different entrances. The room has one entrance from the outside of
the garden and another entrance from inside of the club.

This club is very popular because of its attractive
and comfortable atmosphere. It is a great place to dance, meet people, and
enjoy your free time.

The hombres are comfortable, relaxing, and enjoy the
night. They don’t feel any type of concern with their mujeres going to the bano
and taking a little longer.

Sometimes there is a line and they know that las
mujeres sometimes take their time, talking.

“I think I need another Corona,” says Greg, getting up
to get one. “Do you want one?”  He asks Jose Enrique and Carlos.

“Si, because I think it is going to take a few for las
mujers to return,” says Jose Enrique, grinning. “I sometimes wonder what they
do in there.”

“Si, I do too. It is one of those wonders that we
never get to find out,” says Carlos, shaking his head. “Si, Greg, I need
another Corona.”

Greg goes to get their Coronas and returns. He sets
down the Coronas in front of Jose Enrique and Carlos.

“Carlos, Bella and I want to know if it will be okay
to have a double boda with you and Paty,” asks Greg, knowing it will not be a
problema.

“Si, amigo, I don’t think it will be a problema, but
we still need to ask Paty,” replies Carlos, nodding.

“Yeah, that will be great. It worked out well for
Erica and Ricky,” says Jose Enrique. “I wish I was already married.” He takes
another drink of his Corona.

“Si, amigo, I know what you mean. It’s awesome waking
up with your amor in your arms,” says Gregory, looking over at Carlos.

“It really is a lot more enjoyable when all los primos
are here,” says Carlos, looking around. “The club appears to be full and busy
tonight.”
