“Here, let me hold it while you open the other box.”

She gave him the glittering pendant, overwhelmed with happiness and opened the box. Her mouth fell open at the sight of two open ended tickets to
Mexico
. She turned to him in surprise.

“What do you say? Will you explore the unbeaten path with me?”

She looked away from the tickets to Quin. “Your job, the cas—”

“We picked up Scott and two others yesterday. With their statements, we’ve been able to track down several others involved in the jewellery heists.” He lifted the necklace over her head and fastened it. “I’m way over due for a vacation and I’d like nothing more than to spend it with you. So, what’s your answer?”

“Hearts and diamonds,” Nia said touching the fine jewellery nestled at the base of her throat.

“What?” Quin asked with a frown.

“Diamonds brought us into each other’s lives, but our hearts led us to one another.” She smiled at him, knowing she’d never tire of the sexy grin gracing his sensual lips.

“Is that a yes?”

Nia laughed. “Yes!” She yelped as he scooped her up into his arms and spun her around. “Merry Christmas, Quin, I love you.”
